Lacuna Coil. Might be what you heard. They made a cover of it and sounds amazing. Definitely worth reacting if you didn't hear that particular cover version. PS: I love this song, a lot, and this live video is the best performance I've probably watched and listened to and that crowd singing silencing the lead singer was sick. HaHa! This one, and "Personal Jesus", are among the greatest songs ever written, tremendously iconic. Depeche Mode are super cool and if your father who I dunno but might be close to my age _{50}_ grew up listening to them he's super cool too and I'm sure he loved this reaction of yours, a lot!

Dave Gahan's now 60, if that helps. Lucky to be alive after a near-fatal overdose in the 90s. Was literally brought back from the dead on the operating table. Their run of albums from Black Celebration through to Ultra is fantastic. Electronic/synthpop at its finest.
Saw dave in belgium in 2004 it was great ! I'm from 1977 and for sure depeche mode is a part of my childhood ^^ i love electronic music i love electronic componement i'm electrician at work and also electronic music DJ ^^
Dave Gahan was given the nickname "the Cat" by paramedics in California. Because he seemingly had 9 lives. We are lucky he was able to survive his substance abuse. I believe he has it beaten, but it did nearly kill him more than once.
Too many great bands and i was born in 1998, INXS, Tears for Fears, Queen, Police, Abba ... some more "modern" groups such as Green Day, Placebo, Muse, too many good songs :d
From the 80s (which is basically saying 'from the greatest decade ever for music') I'd go with tears for fears, fad gadget and the eurythmics for the podium places. But I could just as easily pick another entirely different set of bands tmrw. Thats just how im feeling today. Tmrw it might be new order, tears for fears (again, obviously) and maybe devo. We were spoiled for music in the 80s, took it for granted and didn't realise we'd never have it so good again. I'm currently trying to get my own 18 year old daughter into DM. I've so far succeeded with joy division and siouxsie and the banshees (although she isn't aware that i began that process while she was still in the womb and is convinced she found all that by herself) It's only a matter of time before she succumbs to DM. it's inevitable.
Your dad has a great taste in music. This is an all time classic song. Love the crowd participation. I also love u standing during your reactions. U really get into it and it’s awesome. Great reaction Biss!!
It was my first live concert of any band. Bisscute wasn’t born in in the early 80ties I was hardly 20. My daughters n grand kids don't know DM and what impact they had on todays music
Depeche Mode has had a huge impact on music. After listening to this, go all the way back to the Depeche Mode 101 concert. The participation in the Everyone Counts is amazing.
Yes! Especially at the end when half the crowd is re-singing the chorus and the other half are cheering their lungs out. It keeps going longer then expected.
101 is absolutely imposible to listen to without geting seriously hit by goose bumps and a ton of joy and emotion :) the crowd just went nuts in the rose bowl !
oh man Depeche Mode 101 Pasadena was epic!!! When the whole stadium waved in synchronization wow… this and SOFAD was by far their best live performances
You really can't go wrong with Depeche. Had the pleasure of seeing them live countless times in my youth, and each show was amazing. Thanks for another awesome reaction and I'll see tomorrow.
@@BisscuteReactstheir prime was 1993 Devotional tour. Even though Dave the lead singer was on heroin and almost died, the band did their best performance and best selling tour. The tour almost destroyed the band as one of their member Alan Wilder left.
My mom saw them on the violator tour also☺️ at dodger stadium... I remember she had her tour shirt with the roses. She wore it till it had holes and faded away. 🤣. In 1990 I was 7 so I definitely remember lol. She is the reason I am a DM fan. Thank you Mom.
The "WTH, my dad is actually listening to cool bands?!" line cracked me up. 🤣 It was awesome because my 17 year old daughter is going with me to their concert here in Vegas, and she might be more excited than I am! She's a new-ish fan, and their music has serious like-ability, even these days. If you want something harder and darker they do, check out their Devotional tour performances. DM is awesome.
Omg, same. Taking my daughter to the DM show in Cleveland and she is so excited. I have gotten her into DM, The Smith’s, The Cure. She is only 15 and loves all the music I love. Can’t wait. Gonna be so much fun with her.
You cannot begin to imagine the impact Depeche Mode had on my formative years. This is beautiful to see you experience them. They just dropped a new single and it’s outstanding.
1998, Montreal, me and my sister are first row in front of Dave and Andrew. Right in the middle of Stripped, Dave hands us the microphone. Everyone tries to take it, but Dave points at us and asks us to sing. It was magic, Dave and Andrew encouraged us, we were in a trance to sing a song from our favorite band! Your reaction to this video brings me back to the emotions experienced at this show!
I love this reaction . Our music from those days was so much more pure then today. Not saying today's is bad. But back in our time bands played there own music and wrote there own songs. :)
This song brings back so many memories. I saw DM perform this in Dallas, TX for the first time on the Violator tour in '89 and that memory will last forever. I've seen them at least eight times since then, and I look forward to seeing them again in October. One of the greatest bands of all time!
I'm 22 and listen to Depeche Mode since six years I guess. I will see them the third time next year and I am so excited because it is an experience you will never forget. It's so special. Their music is amazing and I love it how Dave still likes to perform. His stage presence is epic! Cant wait for next year😍
I grew up listening to DMode. I’d recommend my favorites in order Violator, Music for the Masses, Black Celebration, Songs of Faith and Devotion, Ultra and Playing the Angel.
I've been listening to music for over 40 years. Heard thousands of songs. This is my favorite one of all time. Tell your dad he's awesome. By the way, the lead singer's voice is David Gahan, the guitarist/backup vocalist is Martin Gore. The keyboardist, Andy Fletcher, sadly passed only a few months ago. Thankfully, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, when all of them got to enjoy it (remotely, because of the pandemic). They have more outstanding songs than I can possibly list, but among my favorites are "Everything Counts", "Behind the Wheel", "Policy of Truth", "Fly on the Windscreen", "Freelove", "When the Body Speaks", and "Precious". I have seen them live FIVE times since 1992. They are incredible.
Depeche Mode is one of the greatest groups of all time. So many albums so many hit songs. A huge array of different types of people into different genre's of music love this group. I'm sure many will recommend the hits to react to but I wish someone would react to Blue Dress. Such a beautiful song
This song is one of my favorite of all time!! Enjoy the silence it's the most popular song with so many remixes & covers!!Depeche Mode =Simple eargasm!! Greetings from Greece!!
MORE!!! You need more Depeche Mode in your life, We all need more Depeche Mode in our lives. If you need live, this concert in Berlin and the Paris concert a few years earlier are amazing.
Yes! "Songs of Faith and Devotion" is such a hallmark in their catalogue. Alan Wilder is still in the band, too (his last foray with them, as well). The first time DM uses a drum kit in their live performances. It really was the first time DM tried to incorporate a traditional rock sound and aesthetic with their sound, image and marketing.
I watched Devotional Tour in April 05 1994 in São Paulo. It was so magical that I never forgot the date. I was only 15 y.o. and the minumum age was 16. I had to implore to the security guards to let me in!
I wouldnt call myself a DM fan but when I saw this performance a few years back while on youtube, I was transfixed. It's so good. Dark, powerful, emotional, uplifting. It's got it all.
This song has a lot of little synthesizer musical details that make it so appealing. Depeche mode is undoubtedly the greatest exponent of Sinthpop. Movement of the early 80's.
As an old codger now it's good to see younger people enjoying bands from back in the best decade for class acts in my opinion, namely the 1980's. Most of these great bands emerged in the UK during the synth pop era and some of them are still touring today. If you get the chance go and see them. Trust me, they're good.
Had the great fortune to see DM many times in the 90s onwards and twice on the last tour just a couple of years ago... And the miraculous thing is that not only have their live performances improved over the years but they continue to release albums with tracks that are just as iconic as the ones from forty years ago. Love the devotion of the fans and the huge age range attending their gigs. Long may they rule 👑
Totally agree, also saw them twice during the last tour and once on most tours before. I love the Spirit album, as it's got some current politics in it in response to Brexit and or that orange guy 😉 eg with "Where's the Revolution" or "Going backwards".
Oh, girllllll...... Depeche is the best!!! Stuff from the 80's was amazing and has great staying power. This is one of the best songs of all times. Forever my favorite!
This live version is the BEST version of Enjoy the Silence. This track was absolutely huge and it came out in 1990 - you probably have heard it before! Depeche Mode are legendary and are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I first listened to DM on a cassette player. Rewinded and played until the tape got badly entangled (only people who grew up in the 80s understand this) and had to resort to a pen to wind it back up... now I'm 51.
The first time I heard this song, I fell in love with it even before the first chorus ended. Literally. In fact, it ended up becoming my favorite song (the lyrics will explain it), and Depeche Mode themselves became my favorite band, for that matter. And this is coming from a woman who was born in the 1980s, but decided to explore DM’s music on her own!
The first time I saw DM live I barely knew any of their songs. My friend had an extra ticket and I didn't even know I was going until lunchtime on the day of the show. Still one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I'm going to see them again in April. I haven't seen them in 22 years (since this song was new). I can't wait.
Saw them in Vancouver 1990 for their Violator tour. Still one of my favourites and every track invites moosebumps. Please listen to Policy of Truth, it will take you away.
Going to see them in Toronto Nov 5th - yes I think it will be their last tour. They’ve only been at it for 40-yrs … I am 65, so I’ve been on their epic ride since the very beginning.
My favourite band ever. A powerhouse throughout the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Saw them live on the Sounds of the Universe tour and they were utterly fantastic.

New Order Smiths Talking Heads Madonna Sioux and the Banshees Marillion Pretenders Queen Kate Bush .... The list is huge. Or your music education is short or your sense of relevance is much different...
This was so HUGE when it came out in 1990, I am always baffled when I find people who don't know it, just like my teenage daughters. I was actually a bit hurt they did not like it. 😂 One of these old electronic songs I showed them and that they surprisingly do love is alphaville's "Big in Japan". So, in the highly unlikely case you don't know it yet, this would be a great song to check out for you.
Look up Covenant, particularly "Dead Stars". It's a lot like Depeche Mode, but also has strong Kraftwerk minimalist new-wave inspiration as well, with modern engineering and production. They're big in the European alternative scene, and likely would have been bigger in USA in the 90's, except that grunge took over alt music in US, and all this depeche-mode-inspired music and bands ended up dead on arrival, cuz, you know, 'merika
Makes me so happy to see you enjoy this song...if you EVER get the chance to go see them in concert, go! One of the best I've ever been to and I've been to many!
I discovered then when i had COVID. I spent 14 days locked in my room and i started listening the albuns, watching the videoclips and live perfomances. My favorite concert is Songs of Faith and Devotion an my favorite studio album is Exciter, but i didn't finished all the content the band has...
One of the best DM performances up there with NLMD and Precious live. I am 57 and have been hooked on DM since I was 14. My two grown kids do not really appreciate it. You don't see musical genius like this today. Get Momento Morai ( spelling?) releasing 25 March. Ghosts Again is incredible
The Violator album is considered their peak by a lot of people - other great songs on it include World in My Eyes, Personal Jesus, Policy of Truth, and Clean. If you listen to the version that has the bonus tracks, then be sure to also check out Dangerous, Memphisto, and Kaleid, which are also really good. Here’s a list of some highlights (for me at least) from their other albums: A Question of Time Barrel of a Gun Behind the Wheel Black Celebration Blasphemous Rumors Christmas Island Dressed in Black Fly on the Windscreen Headstar I Feel You In Your Room It’s No Good Jazz Thieves Junior Painkiller Master & Servant Mercy in You Never Let Me Down Again New Dress Nothing Nothing’s Impossible Painkiller Pimpf Precious Rush Strangelove Stripped The Sinner in Me Useless Walking in My Shoes
Great reaction video. Not just their live performance, their album art, mv visual, lyrics hidden meanings, spans thru decades and they are truly one of its kind. They brought so much influences to many. Glad you finally discovered what your dad and our generation have been enjoying the talent of them all these years.
This was originally out in the early 80s, Depeche Mode was such and influential band for the explosion of electronica in the UK in the 80s. Even current bands like Chvrches still name Depeche Mode as one of their biggest influences. The first 2 songs that spring to mind as recommendations are Personal Jesus and Walking in My Shoes. Search for Live on Letterman for live versions.
Enjoy the Silence and the album it’s from, Violator, were released in 1990. Agree, DM were incredibly influential. They even had a tribute album where many other bands covered their songs.
There are countless good live performances of these two songs on TH-cam. Please don’t do Letterman! These are tv audiences, come on! Both songs are amazing though, good recommendations.
@@larsgutheil5520 they were the first ones that sprung to mind and altho it is a TV audience it wasn't part of the main letterman show but a special live set, and the quality is pretty good.
Depeche Mode (French for "fast fashion") was formed in 1980 as a British synth pop group w/ Dave Gahan (lead vocals), Martin L. Gore (guitar/ keys), Vince Clarke (keys) and Andrew 'Fletch' Fletcher (samples/ keys)... They had an early pop hit in 1981 - "Just can't get enough"... Vince Clarke soon left and was replaced by Alan Wilder (keys/ drums) and Depeche Mode made a name for themselves w/ a string of studio albums which were written mostly by Martin Gore ... By 1986, Depeche Mode was developing a more 'gothic' sound and dark delivery w/ the albums 'Black celebration' (1986) and 'Music for the masses' (1987) and grew even more popular as a result... They headlined the Rose Bowl stadium in California on that tour in 1988. 'Violator' (1990) was the record that pushed Depeche Mode into superstar status, scoring huge singles - 'Personal Jesus'... 'Enjoy the silence'... 'Policy of truth'... and sold 3x platinum in the US (3 million copies). However, Depeche Mode became dysfunctional w/ fame & fortune, and Dave Gahan (lead vocals) also became hooked on heroin as the band released 'Songs of faith and devotion' (1993) and toured into 1994... Alan Wilder would leave the band and was never replaced; Depeche Mode would play concert w/ various hired musicians. They returned in 1997 w/ the album 'Ultra'... but Dave Gahan was still recovering from his addictions... Depeche Mode did not tour until 1998 after Gahan was in better shape. Gore, Gahan and Fletcher carried on recording and touring for the next 2 decades. In 2022, Andrew Fletcher died unexpectedly at age 60... Depeche Mode have announced that they would honor him w/ a new album 'Memento Mori' in 2023 and a tour to follow.
I can't believe you listened to this first time; whatever music genre you prefer. It's like not knowing "King Lion" or "Dirty Dancing". Everyone watched these films. If you d't cheat us, I just envy you listen to this first time.
I’m not so familiar with their live videos but I recommend the following numbers by Depeche Mode: Everything Counts, People are People, Never Let Me Down, Personal Jesus, Master and Servant. There should be live videos with all those numbers.
They are outstanding live! This was an excellent reaction and I know you will enjoy diving deeper into their massive catalog of great songs! I recommend “Never Let Me Down Again” live in Berlin same concert you just watched…Or “Personal Jesus” live form Songs of Faith and Devotion Tour” or any song from this tour! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any live version! Look forward to your future reactions!
Depeche Mode is an underrated all-time band! Personal Jesus, Master and Servant both great performances! Great reaction! You have inspired me to go start a DP binge, so thanks!
What makes a lot of different people like them other than the incredible music, is the fact that Dave Gahan is among the best front man in the industry and has been for the past 35+ years. He is the ultimate rock star on stage. He hasn't sang a note when he walks on stage and your ticket is paid. This is how good they are.
As a disco DJ in the late 1970s (NYC) I can say these guys were among the ones that re-oriented dance music to Europe, while the US got more into hip-hop at the turn of the century. This track has been remixed by dozens of artists - a particularly good rendition of it here: Words like violence Break the silence Come crashing in Into my little world Painful to me Pierce right through me Can't you understand? Oh, my little girl All I ever wanted All I ever needed Is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm Vows are spoken To be broken Feelings are intense Words are trivial Pleasures remain So does the pain Words are meaningless And forgettable
I hope I can take my daughters (ages 10 now and twins 7 years old) to the next concert maybe hopefully 2024. I sing Depeche Mode to them since they were on the womb!. No word still when or if they will come on Memento Mori tour.
If you want to react to more live versions of them the best ones is: Just can't get enough (from the 101 concert). Never let me down again (from 1998 tour) and Personal Jesus (also from the 1998 tour). I've been a fan since they started in the early 80's (i'm 50 yo) and they never disappoint. They will release their 15th studio album in March next year and that's after losing (sadly) one band member in Andy Fletcher. They're in their 60's now but still rockin'!
I saw them live a literal lifetime ago, 1985/86? We had to roadtrip to the concert. Loved them then, love them still. So much fun. One of the bands I would love to see again.
I really enjoyed this reaction 💙 Been a Depeche Mode fan since the mid-90s but never had the pleasure of seeing them live - seems like an amazing experience!
4:35 what a perfect moment. The way the audience take their emotion into the chorus and come together, elevating the song into something much bigger like a religous experience. Live music at its best ❤
I am a Depeche Mode finatic. I have listened to them since 1981. You have NO IDEA. They are transformative. I have seen them live twice. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
If you only want live performances, check out any of the songs from their Devotional Tour. It was when they were on the verge of breaking up (on so many levels) but musically this was them at their finest.
I got in when Black Celebration first came out. Saw them live in 1986 during the Music for the Masses tour when they were starting to go big time. They have been relevant for years and their influence is undeniable. Hard to believe this is the first time you're hearing this song... Glad you're caught up ;-)
Depeche Mode have been my ultimate favourite band since 1989... I just stumbled across your video and absolutely LOVE your response to this song and the band. Made me flippen cry, hah. Their music is so deep lyrically and musically.
Seen every DM tour since 1988! Just saw them a couple weeks ago in Las Vegas, NV and will see them again in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR in November. I was surprised to see as many young fans at the show in Vegas. Some as young as early teens like I was back when I first heard them. Yeah, 38 years ago! 80’s music is the best!
As ever, I love your reactions and this one's no exception. Chances are that you HAVE heard this song before. They're a well known, well established band and this is one of their better known hits. This live version is especially delicious.
Congratulations, you've discovered the greatness of Depeche Mode. So, now that you say that you need more from this incredible band and that you like live performances, I invite you to see them at their best in the Devotional Tour from 1993 (most of DM fans think that this tour is the summit of the band). Here in TH-cam you can find the whole official video from that tour, named "Devotional" (live in Barcelona), but some jewels from this concert like "I Feel You", "Halo" or "Personal Jesus" are available in other videos. Depeche Mode is a really enjoyable band. If you decide to delve into his work (especially that of his early years) they will not disappoint you at all.
You have a lot to grasp here. The lyrics of the songs are very deep and beautiful. The music is amazing. The voices of Dave and Martin are a match made in heaven.
This is just one of my favorite songs of all time, by one of my top bands ever. Going to have to forgive me while I rave about them. Well, I did see them live in the late ‘90s but only knew this one song alone. A major fail on my part. But after the show I found myself more drawn to them so I started buying their albums. That began a deep fandom which still exists today. The lead singer, with the dance moves, is David Gahan, a baritone and one of my favorite voices in music. The high voice is tenor Martin Gore who also writes the majority of their songs. They have had a career last for over 30 years. Your father has great taste in music in my opinion. I doubt my own parents would be into this. But, at a Goth club also in the ‘90s (Depeche has many fans in the Goth community) I got to hear this song blasted out of huge speakers, and everybody danced to it, especially me.
It’s so cool right?! It sounds super nice, I got goosebumps as well. This song has a nice vibe to it. It kinda has a closure feeling. I love this song, it got the Brit Awards in 1991
This version is epic because the crowd is all singing and in tune. That's rare. Lara Fabian, Rammstein, Queen, DM can get this to happen. Stage presence forever. Enjoy the Silence is one of the most remixed tracks ever. There are dozens of mixes of it. It has been a dance club staple from its release to the present in all versions. Anyone over 30 would know it in some version. The riff is immortal.

I agree 100% with you!
It’s been 33 years, since it’s release, but 4 decades sounds more dramatic 😅
Your dad has a great taste in music. This is an all time classic song. Love the crowd participation. I also love u standing during your reactions. U really get into it and it’s awesome. Great reaction Biss!!
anything live by depeche mode won't dissappint
There is no way to stay seated when you listen DM, especially live.
@@Tom_VIO I really want to see them live now
It was my first live concert of any band. Bisscute wasn’t born in in the early 80ties I was hardly 20. My daughters n grand kids don't know DM and what impact they had on todays music
@@patrickbuder3571 I was born in the mid 80s. The 80s are the best genre of music in my opinion.
This song still gives me goosebumps more than 30 years after first hearing it.
Amazing song ❤
My first Depeche Mode Concert was 1983…
F*** . I’m feeling really old now…
same!!!
Everything counts -in large amounts
The 101 film is also a good watch to see how fans of theirs are
Bisscute. Thank you for listening and not interrupting the song. Your Father has very good taste. Best wishes

You really can't go wrong with Depeche. Had the pleasure of seeing them live countless times in my youth, and each show was amazing. Thanks for another awesome reaction and I'll see tomorrow.
She can go "Wrong", here is the official video of that single from DM ^^

They will be out again in 2023, it'll still be utterly amazing, even when Andy is leaving a big gap.
Your father has impeccable taste. There is lots of good music from these guy’s , I want more!
Having seen Depeche Mode on the Violator tour, I can confirm that what she is seeing is not a fluke. They are amazing.
They are, im glad i reacted to them ❤
@@BisscuteReactstheir prime was 1993 Devotional tour. Even though Dave the lead singer was on heroin and almost died, the band did their best performance and best selling tour. The tour almost destroyed the band as one of their member Alan Wilder left.
Having seen Depeche Mode at Crocs club in Rayleigh , Essex , UK in 1980 , I thought they had potential 🙂
@@DxModel219 agree
My mom saw them on the violator tour also☺️ at dodger stadium... I remember she had her tour shirt with the roses. She wore it till it had holes and faded away. 🤣. In 1990 I was 7 so I definitely remember lol. She is the reason I am a DM fan. Thank you Mom.
The "WTH, my dad is actually listening to cool bands?!" line cracked me up. 🤣
It was awesome because my 17 year old daughter is going with me to their concert here in Vegas, and she might be more excited than I am!

Wow, once-in-many-lifetimes experience!
Thats epic bro
J'aurais probablement paniqué!
My God!!! I am soooooo jelly🤪🤪🤪
watched depeche mode perform enjoy the silence at "rock am ring" here in germany in 2006. 80.000 people singing along was absolutely mesmerizing.
The "Live in Berlin" show looked and sounded epic!
I love this reaction . Our music from those days was so much more pure then today. Not saying today's is bad. But back in our time bands played there own music and wrote there own songs. :)
One of the best bands ever...................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh? ❤️
That's a great song. It sounds great when Martin sings and plays it on his guitar.
True fans know “ Blue Dress “ !

Ahhh! I forgot about "One Night In Paris" (I think that's what it's called)!
Nice your reaction for these music, its pure life of music 😄 Thanks Bisscute
Their Devotional Tour is a must watch. See them at their absolute best in voice/audio, instrumentation and visuals.
I would like to personally thank your dad for this reaction. This is pure happiness and what the world needs more of more than ever
Any song live by them is great - still going strong from the 80's. Try 'Never Let me Down' live.
Yes, yes, yes.
And Photographic live.
Heck yes! "Personal Jesus" is another live performance that gets the audience going.
This.
Depeche Mode takes me deep into my teens and into the 80s. I love this band!
They are great ❤️
This song has a lot of little synthesizer musical details that make it so appealing.
“OH THAT’S RIGHT!!” - [Dave voice =ON]
You said it perfectly. They keep getting better.
Right? i love it, glad you liked this ❤
Nop , the Best versión is in Devotional tour
I listen to Depeche mode since I was 11 years old. And now I am 28. Still one of my favourite bands.
Nice ❤
Me too, but I’m 48 now.
Since I was 16. 48 this years. Still one of the greatest dark bands of all time.
I first listened to DM on a cassette player. Rewinded and played until the tape got badly entangled (only people who grew up in the 80s understand this) and had to resort to a pen to wind it back up... now I'm 51.
@@mouselim72 I was born in 1994 but used cassettes till my teens. So I understand you
The first time I heard this song, I fell in love with it even before the first chorus ended. Literally. In fact, it ended up becoming my favorite song (the lyrics will explain it), and Depeche Mode themselves became my favorite band, for that matter. And this is coming from a woman who was born in the 1980s, but decided to explore DM’s music on her own!
Your dad knows his good music. Italian metal band "Lacuna Coil" does and pretty good cover of this song. Depeche Mode are gods of their art.

This was so HUGE when it came out in 1990, I am always baffled when I find people who don't know it, just like my teenage daughters. I was actually a bit hurt they did not like it. 😂
One of these old electronic songs I showed them and that they surprisingly do love is alphaville's "Big in Japan". So, in the highly unlikely case you don't know it yet, this would be a great song to check out for you.
Have your daughters heard the Guano Apes remake of Big In Japan?
The original music video for this song is pretty sweet, too.

@@NS-ie2ld Ah sorry, i knew the band started out in the early 80s, wasn't exactly sure when that song was released.
Walking in my shoes is an anthem.
Thanks for the info❤️

Depeche Mode is an underrated all-time band! Personal Jesus, Master and Servant both great performances! Great reaction! You have inspired me to go start a DP binge, so thanks!
Not so much underrated anymore (maybe in the 80s), they got introduced to the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame in 2020!
One of the most (if not THE) famous electronic music bands in the world is underrated??? Where are you living?
What makes a lot of different people like them other than the incredible music, is the fact that Dave Gahan is among the best front man in the industry and has been for the past 35+ years. He is the ultimate rock star on stage. He hasn't sang a note when he walks on stage and your ticket is paid. This is how good they are.
They are amazing ❤️
Dave is one of the best front men of all time.
As a disco DJ in the late 1970s (NYC) I can say these guys were among the ones that re-oriented dance music to Europe, while the US got more into hip-hop at the turn of the century.
This track has been remixed by dozens of artists - a particularly good rendition of it here:
Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand?
Oh, my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
I hope I can take my daughters (ages 10 now and twins 7 years old) to the next concert maybe hopefully 2024. I sing Depeche Mode to them since they were on the womb!. No word still when or if they will come on Memento Mori tour.
You. Are. Adorable. Loved the video and your truthfulness that you’ve possibly heard the song before. And goosebumps! Yes! Depeche Mode will do that!

Just can't get enough (from the 101 concert).
RIP Fletch! The new (leaked) track "Ghosts Again" is just beautiful.
I saw them live a literal lifetime ago, 1985/86? We had to roadtrip to the concert. Loved them then, love them still. So much fun. One of the bands I would love to see again.

So is Personal Jesus.
Enjoy The Silence is one of my fav songs! 😍
and this performance in Berlin was perfect!
If you only want live performances, check out any of the songs from their Devotional Tour. It was when they were on the verge of breaking up (on so many levels) but musically this was them at their finest.

@BisscuteReacts the metal band Lacuna Coil does a good cover of this fyi...lots of live performances on YT to watch 😊
I got in when Black Celebration first came out. Saw them live in 1986 during the Music for the Masses tour when they were starting to go big time. They have been relevant for years and their influence is undeniable. Hard to believe this is the first time you're hearing this song... Glad you're caught up ;-)
Im glad i checked them out ❤
Depeche Mode have been my ultimate favourite band since 1989...
This is one of my top 10 songs Depeche Mode are a bloody brilliant band
I remember this song when I was at school .. I met my first crush around that time. it really brings back memories. Good choice.
You have a lot to grasp here. The lyrics of the songs are very deep and beautiful. The music is amazing. The voices of Dave and Martin are a match made in heaven.
They are amazing. Saw them many times live and excited to see them summer 23 again in Frankfurt ! Just sad that Fletch is not with us anymore RIP
I loved the legitimate and passionate joy on your face as you watched this, it made me smile :)
I just saw them live in Glasgow yesterday. They are still magical.
It’s so cool right?! It sounds super nice, I got goosebumps as well. This song has a nice vibe to it. It kinda has a closure feeling. I love this song, it got the Brit Awards in 1991
My first depeche concert was 1984. Soundtrack to my life. Am so stoked that younger generations are getting into their music ❤
They are amazing ❤
