- Take a closer look at the microKORG; Korg's compact analog modeling synthesizer with an outrageous Vocoder built right in -- we even include a cool gooseneck microphone. Chances are you've seen it on stage or heard it on a favorite song. Now is your chance to see it up close and hear some of 128 Killer sounds that are stashed inside. It's compact, battery powered, and fun to play. And there all kinds of extras to enjoy: an arpeggiator with mute-able steps, effects, delays, pitch & mod wheels, and more. In addition to keyboard players, the microKORG is great for bassists who need a synth bass-sound, vocalists who want to add some sonic extras, or really any musician. Heck, just watch the video! www.korg.com/microkorg

THIS IS THE VOCODER. THIS IS THE VOCODER.
The guy singing "This is the vocoder" at the end made me lol.
Featuring the new hit single, "This Is the Vocoder"..
I bought one back in 2006 and love it. Not so much as a single problem. I use it as both a performance synth as well as a midi controller...love it.
Such an over sized knob! Definitely a fantastic selling feature
"it ain't the size, but how its used"
Yeah a big knob goes a long way :D
(ergonomics, and all that)
hope it is for the filter.
same reason I have a yamaha ys200, and a yamaha AV receiver as well as the microkorg and the ys200 1ups them all btw. Thats just the volume too! I dont know if I dreamed it or not but I think I seen somewhere some sampler that looked like the microkorg and it too had a huge knob lol
sometimes i feel like a unique oversized knob
Me too.
I have been running a pair of micros in tandem(midi connected and output to input) for a couple of years. The sound can be anything you can imagine. also a kaos pad or other effect units greatly expand the possibilities. PLUS a dandy arpeggiator to boot' ... my go to synth for most projects!! thanx KORG
Got my Microkorg in 2003...still in love with it...;-)
The hugeness of microkorg's knob will amaze you.
just picked up mine today. Full of much awesome
So glad that I got this!
Korg, THANK YOU for finally releasing a software MicroKORG. Just upgraded today to the Collection 4 for $199. I'm loving the Prophecy, too. Had one in 2004. You guys are an amazing company!
i love this Synthe!Nice sound !
lightning fast access to the oversized knob is honestly what sells me
Great instrument!
I might get it. So far, this is the leading contender in my choices
Still an awesome instrument! Love the microKORG!

yes, it is possible, there are special sequencer that works great with the Mikrokorg, it is called "Sequetron" it is demoed here on TH-cam, just serach for it - Levi
dude thank you man much appreciated!
This reminds me so much of Look Around You
Just received mine today 27th Dec 2023 👍
Thinking about getting one of these, but i don't know much about it.
Can I use it as a midi keyboard and load my other sounds into it? Or am I only using the built in sounds?
Thanks for any help.
Yes, and if you can't find the sounds you want on the synth, simply plug it into your computer and use an external VST or soundbank.
The keys are lighter than those of a piano, but some keyboards come with weighed keys.
I have one yet love Microkorg!!!!
How do you make the XL do drums? Is the only way with the 'Syn Drum' patch? I don't know how to really make patches from scratch yet it's my first synth.
wow i want it!
I fux wit it!!!!
Jus Got mine its awsome Biatch
I'm really not obsessed with this thing. I swear.
ah simple stuff. do you have your microkorg setup so that you can use the pc/mac editor? if so i can just send you a handful of patches just like that so you can see how theyre programmed and import/save them on your micro
Go for the MicroKorg S model, for $100 more, you get 64 additional sounds and more great features not included in the original MicroKorg model. It's worth it if you like to expand your music creativity even further.
Really want this D:
As long as it's compact and flowing with power
Please tell me, if I have a five-octave MIDI keyboard, can I hook it up to the microKorg and get a five-octave range of notes? with more polyphony than four notes?
"At a price that will astound you..." that's right!
Getting this in like 2 months! i might make a unboxing and demo of it ^_^
at2:04 you hear drums, can the microkorg do drums at all? Or did they do those with a drum machine or something?
Question: can you make your own customized sounds on it, like if you wanted to say, go for a 90's industrial sound or 80's goth synth sound?
yes you absolutely can
Ok I'm primarily a drummer, but I know some keyboard stuff. I need to get one of these, after I upgrade my drums I'm getting one of these, its gonna be awesome
@1:55 MARK OF THE BEAST \m/
I just noticed the video image is reversed at 2:02. The keyboard is backwards.
thanks for the reply man! ok so no I do not have any software set up... I am brand new to playing anything other than my bass guitar.. I own a PC, so whats my first step/what software do i need to have?
Yes
I want the MicroKorg's goodies!
you need 2 midi cables or a midi to usb cable(though a lot of them are cheap junk and do not work).the midi cables get plugged into your interface or the usb midi cable into a usb port. install the microkorg editor that you download from korgs site and youre ready to go.you can basically just drag and drop the patches you want. to be able to save any patches hold shift and button 8 on your mk,then release and turn the first knob until it says off.then press shift again.now you can save anything.
"This is the vocoder... this is the voCODER... THIS is the VOcoder... this is THE VOCODER"
I personally like this one better. I think it has a harsher sound to it if that helps.
lightning fast presets for my Indie Band We're Hip
"unique over-sized knob....." - I gotta get me one of these!
i got one for band and i love but my question is can i buy a more power mic for the vacoda cos that one that comes with the keybord is really quite and shit
Is this a promo to offload stock in time for an even newer MicroKorg model to replace this and the XL? Is a price drop imminent ?
I want all kind of sounds like synth, orcestral, ambient, natural sounds etc, can this do it? Also how is the keys compared to a piano, do they break easily?
Great
I need help! My microkorg wont play sounds from hiphop to vocoder and it says vocoder instead of synth now! Please help! How do I change it back?
can i use it as an AU-plugin in logic? if i want to make the melodies in the pianoroll etc etc...
The Micron/Miniak has 1 extra oscillator per voice, 1 extra filter per voice, more FX, more memory, and 8 voices to the Microkorg's 4. I was hoping with the XL+ and maybe the XL plus plus plus plus, they would at least match the Micron but it hasn't happened.
it's unique
@epohnopulse Any reason why?
how does he software editor work if the keyboard has no usb connectivity?
Can I plug in headphones or does it only work with amp and computer?
does this synth have ADSR control?
it can most certainly do drums, the xl can do drums also and quite well. you can even put it into layer/split mode and use the arpeggiator to trigger simple patterns. saying a synth cant be used to create drum sounds is strange to me.
this or the XL??? I mainly would be playing post-hardcore/metalcore such as Attack Attack! and Motionless In White. Thanks in advance.
can i connect an electric guitar to the korgmini in any way?
what sortof speaker do you need?
Does anyone know if I can plug this into a 4x12 guitar cab with no head amp? a 30w mini amp? or a 2x10 Line6 combo amp?...with a reasonable volume, of course. J/w
something like a guitar amp. there is also the moog theremin amp for $100 that is meant for synths.
does it have a built-in speaker?
this thing has no internal speakers though right? What is an affordable portable/mini keyboard/synth that has internal speakers?
Does it have Bluetooth so you can use it with Bluetooth amps?
Me want! Me want!
does it need an amp to be heard?
also, cani use this one as a midi controler?
This is the vocoder, this is the vocoder! THIS IS THE VOCODER, THIS IS THE VOCODER!
When i hear those great sounds,i wonna buy it but, first i need to learn how to play some notes, because i realy don't have a notion, about music-notes and all, :D
I am a below novice keyboard player, but on a synth in my opinion, if it sounds good, you're doing it right.
can this be used with fl studio via usb connection?
i feel like im comparing a native instruments plugin to a korg ms2000 but i love native instruments and my ms2000
hmms.. only mikrokorg comes in black/red, not xl+ ? : (
So I have my microKORG and midi cables running through my Fast Track C400 which is going into my iMac OSX 10.7.5 via USB. The controller is recognized by Logic but random notes are sustained indefinitely. What do I do? How do I stop these notes from being sustained? It is so annoying the only way to get it to stop is by changing the instrument track. Why is this happening? I have the most up to date driver for my Fast Track. Do I need a driver for my microKORG? Can somebody PLEASE help me out.
does it have a headphone jack cause im getting one of these babys soon and i just wanted to know
It does
The question is, will it blend ?
so whats better this or the ultra nova novation?
does it come with basslines i need them to put over my hip hop beats
hey guys.. the wood on the side helps the tone
Micro Korg's unique over sized knob
Should we judge a synth by the size of its knob?
"No complex menus to search through"... except the complex matrix menu
Step one: watch video, Step two: buy this amazing product.
Is there USB to PC??
it can definitely do drums. thats a multitimbral preset so what you are hearing is all micro
if i used the already made presets that it has to write songs is that kind of being unoriginal?
dumb question but can you plug this into an amp or do you need to use a computer?
you can.
Bobby Lee I had the same question.
Absolutly.
me too, it's okay.
this is the vocoder this is the vocoder
Does this have a normal piano or is it mainly hip hop/electro?
it's a synthesizer yo can make one or load the patch
is this keyboard portable ? please
if you're looking for portability, korg is for you, cause as far as i know, the mini nova isnt as "portable" as you may think.
but if money is not a problem, you should get the Microkorg XL, defiantly more features than the microkorg. And is around $500 same as the mininova.
if you play at home, mininova is great cause it features a much more modern synth engine.
(if i was to sort them: #1 Microkorg XL #2 MiniNova #3 Microkorg)
how much is it?
Mine is messed up!!!
I used to have a Sequential Circuits "SixTrak"..and an Oberheim Matrix 6...not complex..you get used to it....i'll bet that thsi Microkorg easily could replace my lost SixTrak...it MUST..because i miss it..and i'm buying one..hehe..MK i mean :-)
