Very smart the Raymarine, Things have advanced a bit from the Mk21 Decca we all used many years ago. Small wheelhouses are always a pain, never know where to mount things, I always start by getting the kettle just where you want it and build every thing else round that. Great job.
That is a really nice unit! I like the idea of being able to monitor lots of engine and gearbox stats through it, and it give alarms if something is going wrong. Agree at the helm for a tach and a repeater for oil pressure and engine coolant temperature, with the unit handling alarms as well, this is good if other people are at the helm and they are not 100% sure where the gauges should be. The battery monitor looks really good as well, works a treat!
G’day Stu look I must say that it’s terrific that you and David are in the CFS It’s a great thing to be involved in. That Ramarine units is a lovely bit of kit it’s functions are impressive and where you have mounted it looks good, in fact that wheel house is very nice looking you even have the same brass mirror on her as I had on my boat. The wiring looks very organised a good effort Stu I look forward to the next instalment regards John

Think you're on the right track with the gauges. Cycling through screens of detailed info is great but you need a set of minimum critical instruments to let you know if a deeper look is needed, or to get you home if everything else has crashed.
Stu you are so correct and on the mark with some things eg real english vs murican. You also seem to know when being near enough is good enough. Keep it up.
With your RF ground, read about "Ground looping" for radio transmitters, this will give you a good idea of what your protecting your receiver against, noise, etc
exciting to see the ship come to life! as for that add comment. When the hole saw doesn't go all the way through, break away the top bit with a chisel then it will go further. Do it when you have gone down about 20mm so only the top will break away. Yes watching your battery monitor becomes an obsession.
The boat looks great! Contemplating a 38 foot in town I saw for free. Hopefully I have the space. Your videos make it very inviting if a person were to find the right boat.

kinda wish there was a way you could flush mount the unit into the dash, but I get why you would mount it where you did..This is actually starting to become an impressive vessel, the more I see your adding to it..
There is a comment about the window mount/sun potentially causing a heat issue. Direct sun light on a digital device does tend to cause problems. Ray Marine may have engineered accordingly, but if not there are lots of inexpensive automotive solutions available that eliminate the problem.
