I completely agree re large sizes in charity shops, so it's nice to hear someone agrees with me. I won the Zadie jumpsuit pattern at Sew brum... another must make xx

Loving the idea of a velvet zadie - kept thinking about making zadie in summer and kept shelving now I'm thinking a party zadie.
Yeaaaaaaah party Zadie! Also I think layering up with a long sleeve tee (particularly a roll neck) will be ace in winter

That grey duvet cover would look great as a Zadie jumpsuit especially if you were to colour block parts of it with some red ankara fabric.
Oooh I do have some red Ankara but I think it's too lightweight to pair with the Ankara's I have in my stash :/

Glad to hear your sewjo is back! Your jumpsuit is gorgeous! I'll be making my jacket this weekend yay!!! That's very good of you to be thoughtful to bigger people who need the second hand clothes I appreciated that even tho I dont tend to buy clothes.

That teal check is beautiful and you are right, those colours look incredible next to your skin. I was surprised when you said skirt, not that I think it won't make a lovely skirt but I was seeing aster shirt with long sleeves.
Ohhhhhh now you've got me pondering. It's lovely and soft it'd be an ace shirt. I think it's because I originally said "ooh trousers" and my mum responded "golf trousers?" Haha so I toned down to a skirt
The sewjo always comes back. We just need a break sometimes. And I’m definitely making a an Ankara Zadie Jumpsuit. Love it xx

Hi Laura, happy 6 month anniversary!! 🍾🥂🙋♀️ Love your African print jumpsuit. I'm in the middle of making a top and I haven't touched it in about 2 weeks. I'm just a bit bored with it I think, so I know the feeling. Great video, always love hearing what your going to sew next. 💕👍
Getting bored of a make is so frustrating especially if it's one you were really excited by when you started but give it a break and a pair of fresh eyes and it'll be an ace make I am sure!
The teals and greens are divine, great find :-) .... And your pattern placement on the wax print couldn't be better!!! It looks amazing!! Can't wait to see the velvet version, but I have doubts about the grey duvet.... Sorry :-(. Do you have the grey suiting to try on again and pretend it's the cotton to yourself? Similar shade to help preview I guess.

Hi. Take a look at Peppermint Pajamas by Blank Slate. The big cuff feature could help with the too little fabric problem. Trim your gray jumpsuit with some African wax cloth bias. No prison suit🤣

@@TheSpeckySeamstress I used a stencil on rayon and it was lovely. Gets lots of compliments.
So agree with leaving the large size clothes for those that need them! Love the zadie, but don't know if I'd wear it in real (not sewing fantasy) life...

I've just found you😀 Love your Zadie. Your ideas for subsequent zadies in re-purposed fabric are also brilliant I agree with some comments below re. adding some colour blocking with the grey. I think yellow would really lift it 💛 The texturing within the grey fabric is also interesting. Take care. Gabrielle

How about tie-dyeing the grey duvet cover? Or are there any colour blocking possibilities on the Zadie? Liked, perhaps, your hand measured hem (which I love!), and the ties, and/or something around the neck and or sleeves...? Anyway, just suggestions - please feel free to completely ignore me!
Whatever you make will be fab and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I really want to colourblock a Zadie! You can make it with the front bodice piece that folds under in a different colour! Glad you loved the hand hem!
Grey duvet would make lovely paper bag trousers or dungarees
Yeah I think I've gone off the idea of the Zadie in it but I might make a Zadie top hack - will still have LOTS of fabric left!
Love your waxprint Zadie. How lucky the pattern placement turned out so perfect. Not sure about a whole jumpsuit out of the plain grey duvet, maybe widelegged trousers with printed top would be more you? Was just wondering how you wear the Zadies in the colder season. I want already want sleeves and layers. So nice to see you’re enjoying your sewing again. Looking forward to the makes. 💕
