WAS JESUS RACIST? - God's "Exclusion" Policy (St. Paul & the Canaanite Woman)

There are clear distinctions between peoples in the Bible. Both Jesus and St. Paul play upon those distinctions, sometimes in shocking ways. Fr. Thank you for this Father Bill. I had just sent you a FB message a few days ago asking if you were going to be posting homilies from Corpus Christi. I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and it has become one of my "go to" Catholic channels. I can't get enough of good priests teaching the word of God, as it is written, and not changing it so as not to offend!
I recall going through RCIA and having to leave prior to communion. That did make me more eager to receive it.

Jesus wasn’t really going to reject her but testing her faith to see how persistent she was in believing in Him! He was essentially playing “hard to get.” We always kind of dismiss playing “hard to get” but it’s useful as a tool to see, Jesus was experimenting in this episode how loyal someone can be! The more persistent they chase after you the more loyal they will be to you! The woman proved her loyalty to Jesus and Jesus granted her request because of her persistence! Just like a woman playing “hard to get” with her potential suitor but in the end accepts him because he proved his loyalty to her through his persistence! Jesus taught elsewhere (in the parable of the unjust judge) the importance of persistence even with God because it proves loyalty and fidelity in contrast to giving up proving you never were faithful!
