Good advice for winter emergencies. Can’t tell you how people I’ve helped off the interstate highway who have run out of fuel during a winter storm emergency. Guess they just didn’t think of filling up the car before they head out on the road in a ice/snow storm. They get stuck in the stalled traffic and run out of fuel. Okay I’m done with my rant. Wool blankets and candles work just fine! And that's coming from a Canadian that has snow every year...power goes out on the West Coast on Vancouver Island in the sticks were we live and fire places are a staple in ever home just for those reasons! Them Sog busters looks nice! 1095 is a great working steel! One of my favourite steels for sure! I'm a big fan of wood handles and scales and that blade style is absolutely great! I've been looking at the sodbusters lately and the orange boned models imparticular. I'm still trying to decide on which one. That model you have there is a real beauty. RE; Winter preparedness, aka - common sense, Mother Nature has a way of dealing with those lacking basic survival instincts, a gene pool that's has always been in constant peril. I would wish them good luck, but luck, unfortunately, has little to do with it.
