Greetings from the UK! Just a heads up on something you might want to cover in a future vid. I just bagged myself a Lenovo LOQ 15 for £700 (1,344 Ozzie dollars). It comes with the new Ryzen 7 7435HS, 24 GB of DDR5, a 512GB SSD, a 300 nit 1080p screen & an Nvidia 4060 GPU. Windows 11 is preloaded but I will need to get myself a separate activation key. £700 for such a spec is insanely low here in Blighty. The catch, such as it is, is that the 7435HS has no iGPU, so it's not ideal for people on the go. That said, I've spent the last 15 years using my various laptops to play games with them plugged into a wall socket. It sounds like the LOQ is your favourite budget laptop. Well IMHO, LOQ just redefined the meaning of budget laptop gaming so you might want to put the word out!
Gigabyte really need to up their game in giving more quality laptop and that control center is inconsistent and just plain bad across its lineup of laptops.
The control center may have Gigabyte's name, but it was developed by Clevo. This version is positively god-tier compared to the software package Gigabyte includes on the laptops it developed in house.
Hi Jarrod! I am not sure if this is to be of concern, but I would like to suggest showing the PCH temps on laptops. I'm not sure if it affects performance and usability, but I think its something to monitor to maintain longevity especially if we seek to use it as a desktop replacement... Cheers!
I bought this around October 2024. I setup around November 1. So far I like this is an IPS and WUXGA. An upgrade from my old gaming laptop Cyberpower Tracer IV with FHD and no IPS. At stock value for 32GB RAM and 2 TB of storage for $1,300 is a good deal at Amazon. I have 140 and 120 FPS consistency when I play Diablo 4 and Forntite. The performance mode really makes the fans run loud as a jet plane, so loud! But when I do normal photo and video editing this laptop is very quiet and good! Overall it is an awesome gaming laptop brand. I also registered my gaming laptop to get support with RAM and SSD specs.
The screen is a dealbreaker. It no longer matter how many fps you have if you send them to such a slow display. Like dude 25+ms shouldn't even cut it for 40 hz ^^'
Am just wondering how a big company like Gigabyte can not make good laptops they are always behind and always have a major issue in their machines, why is that ?
My biggest complaints about it so far are terrible colors, dark, dull, washed out and terrible motion blur. Why are there no monitor options on laptops? The screen clearly needs at least a little overdrive or response time tweaks. My PC's 144hz screen looks far more clearer than this blurry 165hz crap.
3:40 is that a 3rd m.2 slot on the RHS next to the RAM? if not what is it for? Looks like there's a screw just above that ribbon cable that could be used to screw another 2280 m.2 SSD down?

The Internals are almost identical too (Not the specs but cooler desing and mainboard layout) Temps are the same too but mine is much quieter (R7 7840HS + RTX 4050). I wish all portable computers and phones had that little wheel where you could set the charge limit. For example, on my iPhone, I know 80 percent charge might not be enough to get me through a long day of heavy use. However, 90 percent definitely will be enough. Apple lets us set an 80 percent limit but nothing else. Anyway, my point is I do agree that the little wheel charge limit choice setting in the software of this laptop is such a great software feature.

The G5 has a 65-75 watt GPU but with all 4060s capped at 100watts by Nvidia(even if the laptop says 140 the GPU still uses only 100) I do get some great performance. I play cyberpunk high settings without RT, using DLSS and FG and get a consistent above 140 fps at 1080p and about 80-90 with RT ultra, and all the extra RT settings excluding the path tracing. Hello there. I'm a casual that's trying to find a gaming laptop for the first time in 8 years and I'm struggling to pick between two options that are available for me: 1. The mentioned Gigabyte G6x 9kg; 2. Lenovo LOQ 15 15IRX9 (RTX 4060, still choosing between 13450HX or 13650HX) Both seem to be around the same level and have their specific pros and cons, but my biggest concern is, obviously, games. I want to play FPS games like Overwatch and Gigabyte's screen response time frightens me a little. I'd be grateful if anyone can share their opinion/experience with these laptops, it'd help me greatly to make a final choice. :)
Hello, why did the CPU 13650 HX not use its full speed, i.e. 4.9 GHz, in your test and only used 3.50 GHz? Doesn't this mess up the results of temperature tests and benchmark games? I wrote this text with Google Translate, I apologize if I used wrong words
In other tests that I saw on TH-cam, the CPU speed reaches 4.8 GHz and the CPU temperature reaches 90 degrees. I think the Windows power plan settings were on balance, not high performance.
Been waiting for this review since ive been looking at getting one of these to upgrade from my old 2016 asus rog gl552vw. Wow the market has changed since then and its not great.
Does one have to use an HDMI cable that lights up in rainbow colours if one has an LGBTV like Jarrod does? Anyway, I think that the side USB-C ports identify as DisplayPort capable, so it's a bit transphobic to exclude those ports from connecting to your external monitor.
Very confused by the models of these gigabyte laptops. Mine is cheaper the G6KF, (same price as the 4050 laptop) but I have a 4060, i7 13620H, 32gb of ram. My build quality is way better, though mine is a fingerprint magnet. My keyboard flexes 0% when I open the lid, I have more ports, and I swear mine looks thinner. However my laptop thermal throttles a good bit
@ yes! My cpu gets very hot which can be frustrating but it doesn’t really affect my FPS a whole lot. I also live in a desert so it’s very hot. Now that the temps are in the 60-70 range my laptops doing just fine :) I love the laptop I get 120-165+ fps in almost any game I run
Hey man, How are you? I want to thank you for guiding me to buy me a laptop in 2021 (I bought a Strix G15). I want to buy a new laptop for my sister cause she gonna need it for her higher studies (Architecture) I saw that Asus ROG flow x13 or z13 is suitable. But there is no 2024 variant (I guess). Can you suggest a best new laptop ?
Do you think a tuf a15 with a 4060 and a ryzen 7 7735hs for 1120usd is a good deal? Some people say the screen is really bad so I’m not sure about that
I saw that screen a few days ago in my local Asus store, next to a G16 it looked like garbage. Whether it's because of how good the G16 is or how bad the TUF display is, the reviews seem to suggest its both
@@zenpy_ Read again, "next to a G16 it looked like garbage". Not to mention G16 displays are alright at best. Either way, if you have a tuf then enjoy it. No need to get defensive and cry about it here that advice was for someone else.
Thanks to your reviews I was able to pick a cool laptop for me! I'm a student from Ukraine, so I needed not too expensive device to replace my pc since I need to bring it on with me to university... And my choice fell to the tuf a16 advantage edition! My version got an impressive 2.5k 240hz screen with 100% dci-p3 coverage, a pure pleasure to look at and work on! The rx 7600s to my surprise can carry games pretty well in native qhd on great settings, and the ryzen 7 7435hs (actually 7735 but without igpu) is definitely the beast, and 1tb ssd definitely helps me store a lot of stuff. The only con of this laptop is not really good life time on battery since there's no intergrated graphics, but overall I'm satisfied with my choice, so thank you once again for your wonderful reviews, they also helped me to improve my engish skills! I bought it for only 50k₴ (about 1250$), comparing to other laptops I had for similar money, it was definitely a wonderful deal. P.S. Surely it's about time that 8gb of vram on any device should be left in the past. A minimum of 12 should be the norm as games are needing more and more vram with each passing year.

It is. Maybe the loq16 is the top one
New laptop weight chart, Nice!
Hello there. I'm a casual that's trying to find a gaming laptop for the first time in 8 years and I'm struggling to pick between two options that are available for me:
1. The mentioned Gigabyte G6x 9kg;
2. Lenovo LOQ 15 15IRX9 (RTX 4060, still choosing between 13450HX or 13650HX)
Both seem to be around the same level and have their specific pros and cons, but my biggest concern is, obviously, games. I want to play FPS games like Overwatch and Gigabyte's screen response time frightens me a little. I'd be grateful if anyone can share their opinion/experience with these laptops, it'd help me greatly to make a final choice. :)
My friend, can you suggest a gaming laptop for only $1000?
What’s your thoughts about the new Acer Nitro V15?
Will you test the new ASUS TUF Gaming A14? It will be maxed speced out with a 4060 and AMD ryzen 9 AI 300 series
Is Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 2023 (PHN16-71) i7 13700HX | RTX 4060 8 RAM | 16 GB RAM worth it? For $1,191.57 usd? If not any recommendations?
Definitely
When am I getting a Acer predator Helios neo 16 2024 review 🥺 ?
Expected next week
Been waiting for this review since ive been looking at getting one of these to upgrade from my old 2016 asus rog gl552vw. Wow the market has changed since then and its not great.
Is the predator helios neo 16 better than this?
Did the replacement of MSI thin Gf63 known as MSI thin 15/a15 got any better on the build quality etc? Never seen anyone with a detailed review on it
It's actually clevo laptop using gigabytes brand name.
How was ur experience so far ? Is it worth buying?
Should i get thid laptop or asus tuf ryzen 7 7735hs rx 7600s 8gb?
I found it for 850€, or I should buy a Katana 15 with the same component for 999€?
OMG that webcam is atrocious
Hey man, How are you?
I want to thank you for guiding me to buy me a laptop in 2021 (I bought a Strix G15).
I want to buy a new laptop for my sister cause she gonna need it for her higher studies (Architecture)
I saw that Asus ROG flow x13 or z13 is suitable.
But there is no 2024 variant (I guess).
Can you suggest a best new laptop ?
saw lenovo low with rtx 3050 6gb for just under $900 aud. worth it or spend 500 more for rtx 4050
Can you make a G5 vs G6x video, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease😊
Do you think a tuf a15 with a 4060 and a ryzen 7 7735hs for 1120usd is a good deal? Some people say the screen is really bad so I’m not sure about that
I saw that screen a few days ago in my local Asus store, next to a G16 it looked like garbage. Whether it's because of how good the G16 is or how bad the TUF display is, the reviews seem to suggest its both
@@elderman64 Yeah go for looks. lets see how that works out for you in the long run.
@@zenpy_ That comment was literally about display quality, not "looks" idk how the heck do u even comprehend it that badly. Your school has failed you
@@elderman64 I was replying to your first statement. Saying the tuf was garbage was a bit stretch. (Same with the "your school has failed you")
@@zenpy_ Read again, "next to a G16 it looked like garbage". Not to mention G16 displays are alright at best. Either way, if you have a tuf then enjoy it. No need to get defensive and cry about it here that advice was for someone else.
I was like it's a decent laptop until you mentioned the price... You can literally get a Dell G16 13900HX + 4070 for 1170$ instead lol
Please do Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (2024 model)
DARK OATH FTW!
I was hoping for good budget gaming laptop from gigabyte but the build quality is just to cheap this G6X is on par with GF63
P.S. I cried a lot when I compared prices on laptops in USA and here... I wish we could have their prices
The fans sound like the 290x jet engine.
Sir please review infinix gt book
Thanks. Please review legion pro 5i 2024
Quiet mode just disables the dedicated GPU? Sounds fun! Count me in! I'll buy a GPU and put it on a shelf to make it quiet! 😂😂😂😂

no computex laptops?
We didn’t go because there wasn’t enough to make the trip worthwhile
I need the new video of legion 7 i pro 20204
Legion slim 5 still rocks
At this point, why do people even buy gigabyte laptops?
Do the gigabyte aorus 17h plzzzz
As Luke once said...'What a piece of junk!'
Another disappointment from Gigabyte ! Great job team !
Over price that’s not budget friendly
As with many of these, if you can catch it on a crazy deal, have at it, otherwise , just buy the Lenovo.
Like a G6, like a G6...
This largely looks garbage to be avoided at all cost
Thanks, please also review lenovo legion pro 5i gen 9 (2024)
with that flimsy frame... thanks but no thanks.
Surely it's about time that 8gb of vram on any device should be left in the past. A minimum of 12 should be the norm as games are needing more and more vram with each passing year.
Last gen g5 has better hinge 😂
0:40 Ahh hell nah
lol
you can just flash it with 140w vbios and do a little undervolting
