To many rules to have faith in God. You either a believer or not and no one has the correct answer what is the right or what is wrong.. Try to be the best person you can be and those who are around you. If I can make someone have a better day by our interaction I feel good for them and me. Scott 13.3

Agreed. That's one of things that caught my interest about him. I caught an interview of him back about '91 in Austin, TX with a guy, I believe his name was Larry Wessel. Anyway, Mr. Horton looked almost miserable as though he was wishing it would be all over soon. Wessel or Wessels, what ever the name, though I think he meant well, was unprofessional. He really wasn't meant to be in front of a camera. But I bought Michael Horton's book "The Agony of Deceit" because of the interview.

I always enjoy Dr. Horton, clear spoken, studious, approachable. You can easily imagine sitting down with him for a great fireside chat.

I'm simple in my faith, if you hold to a Nicean orthodoxy, I can call you a brother or sister in Christ, until one proves otherwise by openly denying the Gospel or the Trinity. Just because someone is part of one denomination does not mean they are right or wrong, the Holy Spirit has true believers everywhere there is someone confessing the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom. 5:10 "For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, *how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!" Justification is not salvation, just take the word for what it says the 2cd half of this scripture says "HOW MUCH MORE, having been reconciled SHALL WE BE SAVED THROUGH HIS LIFE! Justification is a right standing with God (reconciled) once justified We have to remain in this right standing, which is salvation.

Nonsense us being saved by Christ's life is him fulfilling all righteousness on our behalf. Justification is God declaring us righteous because we have been saved by faith in Christ's finished work of atoning for our sins.

Those he justified, past tense, he glorified, past tense. We continue in christ because we are kept in christ. John 6, John 17.

They're not all doing the same thing. Scripture alone is Truth. Christ alone fulfilled the law. Faith in Christ saves us. For the glory of God. Someone may be able to say it better.

Justification is not imputed unless it is infused.

actions that resolve to supposed justifications. the jews who killed jesus believed in justification. Didnt get them anywhere. and these are one of the things that jesus refers to as the "stumbling block"

I agree with rom vetter: even jesus mentions this in matthew 7:21-23; not everyone who saith unto me, lord lord, shall enter into the the kingdom of god, but he who does the will of my father which is in heaven, many will say to me in that day (jusgement i presume) lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name cast out demons and done many mighty works?
and then i will profess unto them, i never knew you, depart from me who work inequity. that pretty much states that actions and justifications alone wont get you to heaven...

Christ was preaching law within the Sermon on the Mount not the Gospel. He was crushing the audience (Jews) with the law by also teaching the spiritual side of the law. This to take away all their hopes in themselves and their works. So that they would believe in Him Whom God had sent.

Faith alone, Christ alone, Scripture alone, Which ONE is it. It can not be all three. Alone by definition removes 2. Get it! It is wrong. Stick to the word of God. How about this "Man shall not live by bread alone but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Jesus Christ!

He gives too much credit to NT Wright . Wright is unclear on every subject he handles which leads me to believe that protestants listen to him merely for entertainment . He's not only heretical but he can't teach which should alone disqualify him from public debate .
