Like, he helped them survive when they normally get eaten, so they go strongman mode, pull the weight for the majority of the game, set up the succession crisis, and boom, PU? Tbh it sounds like something a legit troll would do, scare the hell out of someone only to hand it all to them the next moment. Genuine spirit in the machine moment...
...HOLY SHIT. I think this might just be the biggest redemption arc I've seen. From a small sidekick, to forming a PU over Poland, conquering half of Spain and then SOMEHOW PU'ING THE MAIN CHARACTER. This is beautiful and I'm literally crying rn. Best story I've ever seen 10/10
Personal Union rules are weird. For Poland, I'm assuming a Habsburg Nation had some kind of claim to their throne (via a marriage, not dynasty) vs Lithuania, but you were the highest autonomy-affected-development nation with that dynasty, so the succession war marked you as the offensive claimant. There are two scenarios where you CANNOT fall under a personal union if your ruler dies without an heir. Scenario A is if you are at war, and scenario B is if you have a PU subject of your own. Even if your king died without an heir, you wouldn't end up in a union under Lotharingia regardless of them claiming your throne, because you had Poland as a PU subject. They would have to declare a PU war via the claimed throne if they wanted to get it, and even without your allies, Lotharingia didn't feel confident enough in its own military strength vs you AND your subjects. Then THEIR king died without an heir, and because you had their dynasty, they fell under you in a Union instead. The Personal Union game has a LOT of rules, but if you take diplo ideas as your first pick, and take the time to learn those rules, it can be a very rewarding and fun way to play. I'd suggest trying out a PU focused game to get the Atwixt Legacy achievement at some point
I remember playing as Aachen and taking diplomatic and influence ideas, I basically got a small taste of diplomatic Godhood from that. Everyone was willing to accept my vassalization offer, I was only hindered by being a republic and HRE ae opinion modifier

What a coincidence lmao, I commented on one of your previous videos in this series about how I had a Provence AI ally that was acting a lot like your Burgundy/Lotharingia AI ally but I got out of their never-ending war shenanigans by PUing them, only for something very similar to happen to you haha.

Gonna suggest this again cuz its been awhile: Form the Pirate Republic Kingdom of Jerusalem and complete the Mission "Crusade against Piracy". This means you either have to start as the knights, and become a monarchy or republic, or start as Cyprus (you already did a Provence game, so no starting as them), then form Jerusalem, then lose the holy land in a war and be only on islands, get your privateering in your home node high enough to become a Pirate republic, and finally do the missions so that you can complete the stated mission. Bonus Objective for the campaign: Convert to Fetishist
To be fair, I was thinking for a bit how you can top the AI which can gobble half of Germany as well as half of France in 1600 and dominating Europe for over 100 years. And to be fair, I cannot. This might be the best possible ending for this series, no matter how sad it may leave us be. Anyways, I have to say it was great show from all the participants in here, expecially AI Burgundy :D And what to do now? What about for once trying some other starting date, which is very messy on its own ? I think I heard (at least in the past there was) about Persian start date, when they had way too many vassals (dont know exact number, but I think I heard about number around 10 - it has been a very long time since I heard about it). The goal of it ? Keep all the vassals, integrate them, keep as much as possible to date with tech :) Can you test your mental stability once again ? I think it can be funny :)

I have more than 3000 hours in the game, and I have never seen anything like this. But this series was the funniest one I ever seen, because the AI (especially Burgundy, but the others as well) played very well, like a player. It may be a lucky game, or the new updates and patches reworked the AI, I dont know, but I think these kind of games much more fun than before, or old ones, because there are actual challenges throughout the game
Austria installed their dynasty on Burgundy’s throne. I turned the tables on them by forcing a union on the Austrians. I’m trying to get an Incestburg on Spain since they have Burgundy’s starting dynasty but haven’t kept them

looks like Montferrat activated its anime protagonist powers right at the end
Lotharingia flew too close to the sun, and so it was *burned* for it's hubris
