Carry a small beverage cooler with room for a few water bottles in your vehicle. Phx. is hot, hot, really hot in the summer. People get dehydrated quickly here. Wouldn't hurt to have a hat or umbrella in the car in case of car trouble. Loose light colored cotton clothing is comfortable in summer. If you decide to go north into the mountains, take a coat or jacket. Temperature change is pretty diverse. The Phx.Zoo and Desert Botanical Gardens are close together and a great way to spend the day. Good luck to you, young lady!
@@justintaylor4479 I realize that. What I was trying to point out when it's hot in the valley it's easy to overlook that it may be colder up north. A friend and I decided to do a day trip up north when we were teenagers and didn't take coats with us. It was really effing cold in Flagstaff. Does that make a little more sense?

Just did this drive from Maryland it took 2days (that’s including stops). I drove a 16ft truck with my car attached. Anyone thinking of doing this I say go for it! It’s beautiful here.

I’ve done this trip 2 times myself from Chicagoland. Just moved back to Phoenix area from the Chicagoland burbs last week. Also lived out here from 13-18 then went back to Chicagoland to help out my sister in her trying times. We were there a lot longer than we hoped and then COVID hit and prolonged our stay there. So glad to be out of Illinois.

@@weejay619 That's true. Buit other things are less expensive. Gasoline is about a dollar less per gallon than California. Property tax is low. And you don't need AC for half the year.

Again welcome and there are homeless people here. They are all over but mostly by the freeways. There is also a very bad areas in the Phx area. There are tons of places to go hiking. In the summertime we do a lot of movies to be inside and swimming. So you decided Tempe known as college town. I like it there too.
Make sure you have water when you are hiking and make sure you don't hike in the summer months which is April - November. Look at Big Super channel he will,school you on what to expect in Phoenix.

I'm moving to Phoenix from Tampa and am very nervous. I'm ready for a change. I make in the lower 6 figures which is big in Tampa being that the workforce doesn't offer high salaries. In with the government in management. I also have an MBA and am in my Doctoral Program. I have saved a little over 100k. I'm not a lavish person and am fine with renting for now. I want a 2b 2b apartment no more that 1400k in a decent area. Am I reaching for the stars? Would I need to take more time in Tampa to find a job first? I wild normally never move without a job. But I'm so over Tampa and my job! What do you think?

I had the litter box set up behind the drivers seat so every few hours we would stop and I’d put him in it to see if he had to go. But he never went! I think the movement from driving scared him a bit so he held everything in 😂 but feeding him was easy he ate and drank out of my lap

You will like it here. You are young. I suggest if you want to mingle cruise down to Tempe on the weekend nights around Mill avenue and University. If anyone ever invites you to the "River" say yes. Hey Andrea! My personal opinion: I think that’s a perfect number. I don’t know your finances but you would want at least 1-2 months of rent, moving costs plus any unexpected fees or bills. No less than 3K for anyone’s budget. You having 4-5K saved means you won’t have to worry and can focus on settling in. And I know exactly what you mean about feeling ready to go so DO IT!!! Do what’s gonna make you happy girl.

I'm moving to Phoenix from Tampa and am very nervous. I'm ready for a change. I make in the lower 6 figures which is big in Tampa being that the workforce doesn't offer high salaries. In with the government in management. I also have an MBA and am in my Doctoral Program. I have saved a little over 100k. I'm not a lavish person and am fine with renting for now. I want a 2b 2b apartment no more that 1400k in a decent area. Am I reaching for the stars? Would I need to take more time in Tampa to find a job first? I wild normally never move without a job. But I'm so over Tampa and my job! What do you think?

Honestly no. I kept it simple put fresh litter in his normal box for the drive it worked out!

That’s so brave of you!! To move alone to a new place. Congrats girl! How did you deal with the cat and using the litterbox while driving for 30 hours?? 😅
I had the litter box set up behind the drivers seat so every few hours we would stop and I’d put him in it to see if he had to go. But he never went! I think the movement from driving scared him a bit so he held everything in 😂 but feeding him was easy he ate and drank out of my lap

You will like it here. You are young. I suggest if you want to mingle cruise down to Tempe on the weekend nights around Mill avenue and University. If anyone ever invites you to the "River" say yes. Every city has that thing that people go to hang out at. River is the place here. You have a great complection! Good luck to you!

Would you make the move with only 4/5k in your pocket? I am currently a bartender and I am in Chicago. I hate it here so much that I’ve decided to save 4/5k, take my bag and leave in couple of months.
Hey Andrea! My personal opinion: I think that’s a perfect number. I don’t know your finances but you would want at least 1-2 months of rent, moving costs plus any unexpected fees or bills. No less than 3K for anyone’s budget. You having 4-5K saved means you won’t have to worry and can focus on settling in. And I know exactly what you mean about feeling ready to go so DO IT!!! Do what’s gonna make you happy girl.
