Thanks a lot! This worked on my B170 mouse too. Although, I had to improvise a bit - adding a *little* WD40 was not enough to fix my scroll issue so I re-opened the mouse and then blasted the entire wheel assembly with a generous spray - that did the trick! 😜
Also, there's a third latch under the battery that needs to be released to get the thing apart - this is not shown in the video.

Agree w/ you. There's a third latch under the battery. My logitech mouse model is M170.

  • @noenergybunny
    @noenergybunny 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

It worked! Also: I saw some dust gunked up by the scrolling mechanism that I think were also to blame for my scrolling problem. Cleaned that up with some Qtips and put WD-40 by there too. Works flawlessly now!

Really struggled to get the back open because I didn't have the right tool, but a pen worked like a charm. Also used isopropyl alcohol since I didn't have anything else at hand and my scroll now works again. Thank you!

Thank you so much! Like another commenter mentioned, there is a latch under the battery housing visible when the battery is out of course, that needs to be released. But the tutorial works like a charm. You saved me good money, my friend :) Works just like new!

Worked like a charm, i was working with this condition of mouse since the covid lockdown started.... more than a year.... was thinking of purchasing a new one but then thought it would be a good idea to see if this can be fixed and voila! :) thanks a ton

Fantastic video! This helped a lot.
I also found on the right side of the wheel assembly, I had a lot of dust and hairs stuck in the grease grooves on that side I had to pick off with tweezers.
Edit: to clarify, my main issue was my scroll wheel was skipping/rubber-banding and as a result scrolling was very erratic.

Thanks!! WD40 worked like a charm to fix my M170 scrolling issue. I have this mouse for a year and a half now but the problem started like 4 months ago and I never really tried to solve it in a way other than reinstalling drivers over and over. You saved me some bucks and really deserve more, sir. Thanks again.

k, this worked! thanks fella. there's one more clip to release underneath the battery compartment, which i don't think's mentioned in the video, and I found out the the hard way. getting the bottom off is a pain. also, remember there're clips at the front that have to be release when taking the bottom off. these front clips also have to be in place before you push in the rear clips, or the buttons will be suspended (you can force them in afterwards, but it's not ideal).

WD 40 works as electricity insulator as well as rust remover. In this case it could have failed the mouse clicks at all. However I still tried even I had the mouse under warranty. (Logitech warranty sucks) . Worked for me as well. Use limited quantity and clean the other part of circuit before you plug it in. Thanks .This VDO helped me gain confidence to try on my under warranty mouse.:) Don't try WD 40 on under pressure welds like AC. It will slowly remove rust/loose the welding and gas will leak.

I was about to order new one but just thought to check any fix for it in TH-cam. Thanks it worked for me. I had to clean the dust and did apply coconut oil😂 to scroller. There was one more latch behind battery and sometimes we have push it as well. Thanks bro.

      @@TechLifestyle thanks brother
First I cleaned the mouse and scrolling corner
      And
used hand sanitizer of 80% ethanol, just a single spray in between left button and mouse scroll
      and
As it get sprayed on the circuit board too in ON condition, I got panicked about whether this whole mouse may gone short circuited!!!
      But after cleaning
      my mouse started scrolling properly
      Thanks to you
