That is terrifying! My aunt has power of attorney over my uncle because he has Parkinson’s but I think that’s different from guardianship? Your friend’s parents making her work for them for low wages and then taking money away sounds like an indentured servant. What would happen if a person with a guardian ran away? Would it be the same as if a kid ran away, they’d have to evade the police and everything? That would suck so bad. I hope my mom doesn’t decide to do this… she wouldn’t starve me or anything, but it would be like being 14 again!
Yeah, power of attorney is much different, that's more like shared power which is what I believe it should be! And yep, it'd be exactly like that if they run away. I hope she doesn't either! If she's talked about doing it show her this video! They're horrible & should be illegal!
