Hey you forgot Darth Nihilus he sealed his spirit to his mask and Robes, in a Comic it showed Darth Nilhilus as a spirit with his mask and robes on right next to the other sith spirits. And also Nihilus is also a Wound in the Force. More of reality than a physical thing.
i liked the Dark Empire series where Palpatine came back from death. i think he had a good idea, but i after playing Swtor i think he should taken a hint from Vitiate and hide his body in stasis, using clones but always having somewhere his spirit could return to - a link to the physical world. As such even if he tried possessing powerful force-sensitives as his clones were still a step apart from real being, his spirit wouldnt be banished into the Chaos should that would-be host force user resist.

Considering he never defeated Vitiate then yes he's as much a chosen one as Anakin is now thanks to Ep7-9. That being said, Scourge clearly states that in his vision, the Hero of Tython is the one destined to defeat Vitiate.

Bane's reflection on the rule of two and the way to achieve it , to Darth Krayt's search for immortality are all influenced by Vitiate research and accomplishments which, surprisingly, survived Darth Gravid's rampage on Sith lore.
Chilling in a grave as a Sith ghost isn't the same as coming back to life, Marka Ragnos never came back to life, but afaik he was almost revived by some Sith using his staf. And Revan was still alive, he hasn't died, his ghost just splitted in two.
1 minor complaint about Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorion : his original body was destroyed by Scourge while the Outlander (i'd say it's probably the Hero of Tyhton as it's imo the most logical character to be there) was destroying his mind in their body at the end of KOTET, not on Dromund Kaas by the Hero of Tython at the end of the Jedi Knight's class story, nor on Yavin at the end of Shadow of Revan.
Man it'd be crazy if all these sith Lords came back at one time and were like you know what we're taking this over and then we're going to battle our most ourselves now that would be a great comic book dark Lords of the sith rise
I KILLED VITIATE SO MANY TIMES BUT *HE JUST WOULDNT DIE!* However, after echoes of oblivion I think we have finally eliminated him. However it took the combined might of Revan, Matra Surick, Darth Mar, Satele Shan, his wife, his three children and dozens of the spirits of his previous victims working with the alliance commander (the player character) to finally banish him from the living realm.
I wonder why Palpatine could not hold his body together like Dath Sion did or even pull a Nihilus and trap his spirit in a mask or something that his clone just wear to become possessed.
