Do what i plan on doing. Buy a 3D printer, Buy some components, spend a lot of time modeling the internals and externals of the Gimbal, The Stick, The Rudder and the Throttle and make it yourself lol. Especially if you plan on doing more with the printer, it would be perfect for that. Just be smart about it though, use Plastic safe grease, bearings, and decent sensors for the set up. Reinforce parts that need reinforcing and print parts with the smallest nozzle you can get, or get someone with an SLA 3D printer to print high quality parts for you. And then finish everything off with paint and clear coats! Filler Primer and sanding is your friend. A couple of spools of plastic, some Arduino's, some time spent modeling the parts and testing, and you should look for less than 200 bucks spent in total. In fact, the real cost is gonna be coming from the switches you'd want to use. Digi-key has a bunch of authentic looking/feeling and general replacement switches that military aircraft use. @@JunaidAli-ws1li My friend got a 160 dollar printer, i think. In his country he almost paid double the price of the printer. And yes, that 160 printer is amazing. The JF-17 can compete pretty well in BVR though. I know it's not truly Redfor, but well, it is the closest we got for now. And it's unlikely to change thanks to new Russian laws. It is possible to fly the Flanker high and fast and compete against the teen fighter family in BVR but it requires decent skill from the pilot. Cockroaching in the mountains with the Flanker is just the first stage of learning the plane.
@@marduk87 I would call using the mountains as a way to flank unsuspecting adversaries as a valid high skill tactic, as it requires extreme focus and the ability to handle abrupt merges and engagements with various aircraft types. BVR in the context of equally skilled pilots between Blufor and Opfor, the Flanker's BVR missiles are simply not competitive. You'd only be fooling yourself. Of course, it's easy to score a BVR kill against a novice, but that's it. However, the Flankers BVR missiles are good for shorter ambushes rather than a head to head BVR engagement. 8/10 times you'll die trying a textbook head to head BVR engagement. I've taken the flanker up 30 times and each time I was forced into defensive before even being in range of R-27ER or R-27ET.
@@JunaidAli-ws1li As I understand it, for an official DCS aircraft they need to licence its data to produce an ‘accurate’ flight model… For an unofficial one (e.g. the A4 Skyhawk) the independent producer of this (free) aircraft model has relied on publically available data to create it and is therefore exempt from needing a licence.
