Malcolm X definitely helped. We need someone like him now. Someone who doesn't bite/hold thier tongue and isn't afraid to put thier life on the line for the betterment of his/her people and society in general.
@@spacemanspiff8073 he went to the Muslim holy place of Mekka where he did the pilgrimage. There he saw many shades of people from bleach white to midnight black all praying and coexisting together in unison, that moved him and he changed his ways
Growing up I didn’t appreciate how young mlk jr and Malcolm x were when they were assassinated (both 39) and how much direct action he packed into his 39 years of life. I’m ~45 and as I move through life I realize that Now is the time . Tomorrow isn’t a given and even if it comes it will still be “now”. We need to come together a work on solutions not just point out the seemingly infinite problems we face as a society, as a nation and as human beings (human doings)

Didn't he change his surname to X AFTER joining the NOI? AFAIK they're the ones who came up with the idea and had many members with X's or XX's and perhaps other variables for their surnames.
