I think the Magna Carta is one of the 3 most important documents ever written in human history. The other two being the United States Constitution and Newton's Principia Mathematica.
Some say it was because the king was repocessing the lands that he claimed when landlords could not pay back the loans they had taken from the money lenders. It was about currency system breakdown and usuary as per somenpeople. It was magna carta for nobility not for landless poor people.
