- Ever wanted to see a bunch of students at a music school get together and play a song that makes it impossible for you to be sad? Well, here it is. This arrangement of Pollyanna from the Mother series was performed on Thursday, April 18th, as part of Berklee's annual CWP student concert.

This whole performance was so much fun to put together. I'm currently studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. My major is CWP (Contemporary Writing and Production), which is a major focused on teaching the skills of music composition, arranging, and production - it's been a perfect fit for me during my time here at Berklee. The CWP department puts on a concert each year showcasing the best student arrangements, and I decided to submit Pollyanna to be considered for the concert! Pollyanna ended up being chosen as the closer for the show.
With most of my videos, I am the person playing most of the instruments. In this live performance situation, however, I assumed the role of the conductor, and let the musicians read the charts. At first, this was a bit tough for me. I often have a hard time trusting other musicians to take the parts that I've written and turn them into something great, I suppose that's what I get for writing for myself mainly for these past 7 years of TH-cam, so doing this project, along with other recent live performances at PAX and MAGFest was a good way for me to start breaking those old habits.
I hope you enjoyed this live performance! If all goes according to plan, the next video that I'll release will be the first installment of a big project that I've been teasing for a while now. I'm unbelievably excited for you to see and hear!

The fact that your cover was so inspiring, that it brings students together means that it’s no longer just music.
It’s a connection with people.
You’re able to bring people together through your power of music and that’s truly an amazing thing.
I appreciate that a lot of these musicians had no nostalgia or affection for this song but still gave it their all and absolutely killed it, putting a massive smile on the face of at least one man who loved playing Earthbound as a kid.

This is sooooo good... Mother is such a nostalgic series for me and Earthbound is my favorite game, I’m so glad to see this song remade so beautifully. You all are amazing, keep it up!
You always seem to remind of why I love music in the first place. Recently I've been working on a lot of mixing using FL Studio and after a while I had seemed to forget what I really wanted to do. I have to admit that I miss playing more instruments and I've really wanted to get into playing the flute and trumpet but my wallet prevents me from doing so. Until then, I'll just keep getting inspired by you!
