Yes when I bath and deeply groom my cats they will hiss and sometimes attack one another, I always make sure there is enough room for them to hide and get use to each other’s scent, besides that they will fight and give each other the death glare.

Dog's and cats can rely more on scent than looks so bathing them and removing their scent can be confusing for them. Like seeing someone who likes to wear a lot of makeup just after they've cleaned their face.

Heavy eyebrows also don't help his case. My cat always looks wide eyed and confused because she doesn't have those eyebrows. But her half brother does have those heavy eyebrows and he always looks.. contemplative at best, lol.

I think Felix just has resting murderer face. His pupils aren't even really dilated, he's surprisingly chill about the whole thing.
Friendly animals with resting murderer face are my absolute favorite. Cute animal behaviors are 100x funnier when they come with a relentless scowl 😂

When my ex wife and I were stationed at Edwards AFB in California in 1989, we went looking for a cat to adopt at the base animal shelter.
We looked in this one cage and all we could see was a furry black lump. We couldn’t see what it was until these HUGE orange eyes opened up and stared at us and we realized it was a cat.
Turned out to be an all black Persian female that had been found running loose on the flightline.
How she survived in an area crawling with coyotes and her being declawed was a complete miracle. We took her home and did the best we could with her fur but you’re exactly right, it is a constant battle, especially when she was scared to death of everything.
We had her for only about two years but loved on her enough that she eventually came to trust us…. somewhat.
We’ll see you on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge soon our little Habu. ❤️

She might have been unceremoniously dumped by someone who couldn’t have been bothered to rehome her when they had to move or her previous person had died. The fact that you did your best and didn’t give up on her in the two years she had with you is what counts. She knew unconditional love and acceptance. That’s what matters. Good on you.

My husband and I were at Edward's at the same time. I wish we knew about the shelter on base. The LA country pound in Lancaster was awful. Can't imagine a cat on the flight line. The base housing cayotes were darn near domesticated. Weren't afraid of people. We are still at EAFB.
It’s really sad she was declawed; declawing causes cats a lot of chronic pain for something that just makes them become more bitey in response. If you declaw to make them attack you less, it’s not gonna work.
Every time I watch your videos my cats think I am watching a horror movie!

I love the mention at the end that sibling cats might not recognize each other. Every time my cats get groomed, they hiss at each other
It may not even take a bath! A friend has 2 littermates cats. So these 2 cats have never not been together, right? One had a slight nail pulled issue. He was taken to the vet. Gone for an hour. The sister cat acted like she had never known her brother. 2 days of her hissing at her poor brother. Enough of an annoyance that now when 1 goes, they'll both be going.🤭
@@stlbf75 Vet smells can be as bad as bath smells - or worse if the cat associates vet smell with her own bad experiences.
Oh my mom’s sibling dogs weirdly do the same (tbf they share a single brain cell). Like you could finish washing them and then they’ll have this weird stand off and start barking at each other. My sister’s sibling chihuahuas also do that but they’re just demonically possessed in general.
There's a video ages ago of a Sphinx cat not recognizing the family dog after getting groomed. She kept crab walking and smacking him until she recognized his scent.

I love Felix. His ears express calm even if his eyes express concern he's not angry. I found it so hilarious that he just has this grumpy face like he's going to murder you even when he wants to cuddle 😂

I've always thought the cranky look of the Persian was adorable. Both cats were very well behaved...for cats.
@@apjtv2540 On the part of being murderous I know, I lived with a cat for most of my life. But the default expression of most of the cats I knew were not murderous, I think this is more of a breed plus stress reaction thing.
Still, I would leave a cat alone if it had that expression generally.
The look on the Felix is so adorable. He is so mildly amused of getting groomed. And so well behaved too.
Felix is just too adorable. The vast contrast between his mean facepaint and completely relaxed pose during blowdrying was sweetness incarante. Skyler..well..perhaps next time he'll see it through.
I love the look on their faces when they're pissed off but helpless. Thinking very carefully about how they will exact their revenge. The crystal vase? Nah i did that last time. Pooping outside the box? Always a good option. I think late night vomit down the sofa cushions will be the most appropriate punishment for having to suffer this indignity

Every single look on Felix's face, you know he's trying to figure out which infernal demon to offer your soul to. Skylar on the other hand is more of a "maim first, plot later" type I guess.

I so miss grooming our two half-Persian's paw pads and dangler area. They were littermates, and unfortunately both got cancer and passed within 2 years of each other before they reached 10
and 12. Every time I see you groom a long hair, I'm both happy and sad somehow.
If my cat gave me the look that Felix gives at 1:28, I would go ahead and update my will and get my affairs in order.
Felix is the most still cat I've ever seen that's not asleep nor sedated.
Mom had a Chartreux that she raised from a kitten. She accustomed it to being bathed once a month, and she combed it daily. The Chartreux actually loved the combing and acquiesced pretty well to the bath - mom was always very soothing, she dried the cat with a warm towel and used a blow dryer on low, and gave the cat treats. 🙂
I adore friendly animals with naturally angry faces. The contradiction makes everything 100x funnier.

This video made me smile from ear to ear. They were pretty good, and are gorgeous cats. I have a long haired cat I shave in the summer. He tries to groom but it's too much. We comb him, but it's a never ending battle. His undercoat is so soft and maintenance free. He acts like a completely different cat when he's shaved. I think he's happy the burden of grooming is gone.
Those are two gorgeous and healthy looking cats. I can tell by looking at them that they are well-loved members of their family.
Thank you so much! They are usually really well behaved because I trained them to get nails cut from young age, but skylar doesn’t like his belly being touched 😂

My boy Lucky was a Maine coon/Siamese mix. He was not a normal kitty when it came to grooming. He loved water and would join me in the shower. Which made it a thousand times easier to groom him. Nail trims were a different story. Soon as I’d bring the nail clippers out you’d think I was exercising demons.

Skylar loves water! Which is why he sat in the tub haha He doesn’t like getting brushed on the belly though. 😂 He usually goes in puddles on the deck. They usually are in a stroller

They both have perpetual expressions of volcanic rage held back by the barest thread of self-restraint.
We have a cat similar to this. He's the most laid back cat and he is my husband's constant shadow. Whether outside in the garden, at the computer, in the attic or on the roof. He is a rescue who's name is Shitsu and is the BEST cat-dog ever!!

Oh man, the cats that can give "the look" are some of the cutest. Love when they're really expressive, you spend enough time with them and you eventually can just tell if they're nervous/happy/etc just by looking at them.

Skylar's small hissy fit didn't do much and that surprised him. Being his first time, he didn't know that Vanessa has the skills. You could see the Forrest cat in his face, and both cats are very handsome. I wonder if Felix will even try to have a talk with Skylar about decorum, etiquette, and the complete waste of time having a hissy fit is. I thought Felix was such a gentleman and Skylar just had more boundaries. Great work Vanessa !
