    There’s nothing wrong in bragging when you have big leaves like that and a beautiful begonia , last year I had an alocasia just like yours , at the end of the season , the leaves measured 29 and half inches long, I was so proud of it , I had to dig it up to put it in the greenhouse for the winter , the original bulb rotted but I was happy with 8 little baby bulbs , of different sizes , this summer we’ve had very strange weather the leaves now are quite small , so I can’t brag this year . Oh and the begonia I brought last summer , died down and there was nothing in the pot this spring 😢 thanks for your video .

    This was the best video out there that I’ve seen. Straight to the point and action and then follow up. Thank you 😊 I did the exact same as you can’t wait to see the results

    mines in terracotta doing amazingly well. i just water more frequently. also, my water props have little pink clones at the top of the stem, where it meets the leaf. and then a couple roots at the bottom. i have them with some pothos cuttings. it’s only been about 2 weeks. i also add fish and seaweed and change the water every 9 days. it’ll go quicker.

    This video was very well done. You have a great collection there. Have you tried the method where you cut slits? I was wondering if you may have a video on that method? Very excellent video well done

    So I'm literally outside watering one of my favorite begonias, I've propagated everything that I can think of except for my begonias usually screw up. So I turn on TH-cam in the first video is you with propagating begonias! By far the best video on begonia propogation! How often do you mist these after the first time? ...or one and done with a dome? Do you have an email or social media? I would love to send you the picture of the begonia that I'm trying to propagate, it's beautiful and not as common.

    • @SuburbanSill
      @SuburbanSill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Since it was covered I misted it every once in a while and just made sure that it was moist. You can DM me on Instagram @SuburbanSill…I’d love to see your begonia.

    Thanks for showing the end result it's so helpful. Did you use tap water / rain water / distilled water? Here in the UK we are told to use distilled or rain water only for them.

    this video is very helpful - thank you for that! but it leaves me with one question: when do I put my water propagated plant in soil and how far does the part with the roots have to go in? can't leave it in water forever?!

  • @AnneQuiet

    Besides succulents, I didn't realize you could simply propagate leaves.

  • @ChristyD97

    Hi.. thanks for your sharing. I tried the leaf propagation twice, but end up it grow mold fungus due to high humidity after a week. Any advice for me to get rid of that ? 😬

    • @SuburbanSill

      Maybe check the vase that you used and see about using something that promotes better air flow. Something more open maybe?

    Thank you for your video! It was nice to watch as I drink my coffee this Saturday morning. I’ve got one small one I’ve done ok with. Think I’m ready up size the pot. I’ve been wanting to propagate this and now I know exactly what to do. In NorCal and it’s still pretty cold so think I’ll put in sunny spot inside. Loved your video and subscribed! 💚

    It's helpful to moisten the soil before you put the plant in. It will hold it better.

  • @doreenstrickland6585
    @doreenstrickland6585 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just watched the video - how deep do you plant the one in water?

  • @carilangley9824
    @carilangley9824 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    so when you plant the one propagated in water, I have 5 leaves currently with small roots and some with baby plants at root level, some with baby plants up where adult leaf base is, when I want to put in soil, so I bury the new baby plants along with the roots? (I assume not too deep?) thanks

    • @SuburbanSill
      @SuburbanSill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just set it on top of the soil and cover as much root as you can. Keep the soil moist! It should take.

    Do we need to change the water for water propagation?

    • @TM.BECK14
      @TM.BECK14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people successfully propagate without changing the water at all but it's generally recommended to change it about once a week or two.
