GREAT COMMENT MY LIEGE

Baldest comment i've ever seen
When Yoshida said to be kind to new players and stuff, I just remembered that clip from Justin Wong in Mortal Kombat, destroying the new kid screaming "YOU GONNA LEARN TODAY, YOU GONNA LEARN TODAY", spamming the same move not letting the kid play. xdd
WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!
I played against Justin Wong in MK9 a long ass time ago and he was actually nice to me but this story owns LMAO
finally Arthars can join the Xenos Community Birthday!
15:28 Teaching sprouts wouldn't be as big of an issue if we were talking about specific fight mechanics, but duty support does an awful job at teaching new players even the most basic job traits and doesn't really encourage players to improve.
Not to mention, even saying things like "doton is bad on bosses" is somehow considered toxic and those clueless players won't even listen to begin with.
that's a very nice of SQEX to help Xeno to hold his Birthdays party to the point arthars join the party too!
Congratulation on the media tour, Arthars! And thank you so much for the video!
papa yoshi looking at you and xeno when saying cc's need to be more approachable by sprouts lol.
grats on the media tour man nice work
Thank you for the insight Arthars!
Thank you so much for the update!!
Very good insight from this video, thanks arthars! Cant wait for dt
I'm so glad you got invited to the media tour, grats Arthars!!
Question: Hey can you fix ilv sync? Just sync the materias, is not hard. Answer: The system was made by 1 person back in ARR, next question.
An amazing response really
Great video, thanks Arthars!
gadamn i love it Arthars in media tour wooo!
Thank you guys for asking some great questions, curious to see where the game will go from here.
I really like hearing that 8-mans will start mixing it up and I am very curious to see how noticable this new direction is with the new Extremes & the first tier. It's a sort of double edged blade in a way. One of XIV's strengths since SB was always how legible raid mechanics were in general, but that sort of goes hand in hand with predictability. I wonder if we're going back more to the pre-SB era, where they were a bit harder to 'read'. Seeing how tanks will have more personal mechanics going on, rather than just being a DPS that mits busters is very nice to hear. Can't wait to see that in practise.
"was in pain hearing that" YoshiP got one shot from that video of hers
Great video, ty ty for the info
Grats!!!!
I wish somebody had taken the opportunity to ask about account country registration change for all those people who are struggling after the new payment system changes.
Yeah considering arthars is affected by it himself I'm surprised.
Doesn't have anything to do with Dawntrail and the devs have zero control over it. I'm sure Square Enix is aware.
Its a Dawntrail Q&A
which is funny bc he himself said he would ask abt this topic
Good work
Why didn't you ask about adding South East Asia as a valid region?
Having to jump hoops just to pay for my subscription is annoying as hell
I think low levels having more actions should take precedence over learning things later on. Because that's their first introduction, and i've found that a lot of people get turned off by early game FFXIV because the combat is just kind of nothing.
I think having around 8 actions to do at low levels as opposed to often 3 feels a bit better. Taking that example from how lost ark starts off. And while that's a different type of game, it still shows that new players are able to pick up a moveset of that amount even if they can't fully grasp it yet. And we all know FFXIV suffers from button bloat far more than 8 actions. They should maybe have 8-10 depending on the job by the time that you get to the first dungeon.
Dragoon for example, barely has 7 and 3 of them are role actions that you don't really utilize in your rotation. Warrior has 5 not including role actions. WHM has 5 without role as well. Honestly they only need to add a few more buttons to each job to that very low level to get it feeling better. Anything that isnt just.. 1-2 repeatedly with an occasional buff.
KNEW IT
When I picked the game up during the shadowbringers expansion, I felt no satisfaction as dragooon until level 70. And after leveling all other jobs to max, many jobs don't start to feel satisfying until level 70-80. In my opinion, a job should feel "complete" at level 50, where the first endgame content is available. Enough OGCDs to gap the long GCDs, early AOE to participate in effectively in dungeon runs and don't feel like a burden as dragoon, because you don't get an AOE until late ARR. Many jobs get their gauge to work towards to also very late, which majorly increases how much fun I have with a job. Ofcourse this my personal opinion, but many friends tried FF14 and just left, because their job felt so boring combined with the arguably boring early questing, eventho I am sure that many of them would very much enjoy the same job at 90. Early impression is important for player growth, the longer the game is out there, the higher the expectations will be for new players that already experienced better games. What worked 8 years ago might now push people away from the content they would enjoy.
Melding is also a reason why I don't play some jobs, simply because they would need a unique meld, that I am just not willing to change all the time. Not even from cost, but just the extra time taking melds out and back in and checking that I meld correctly. And I don't think having plates for melds would make anything more simplified or too complex. But I feel like it goes against the philosophy that you can play any job you want whenever you want, if melding and gear restrictions make it so difficult to keep those jobs at the level they need to be.
well that's mean almost all jobs before shadowbringer expansion came out aka lvl 70 is bad..at that time in SBL nobody complain about job feels not complete.and isn't that the perpose of level up?iif the gameplay of level 50 and say 70 above feels the same then whay there is even a level 1-60 to begin with??
@@Beraka114 Like I said, what worked years ago doesn't necessarily work now. You could have enjoyed Pong when it first released, but if anyone new would play it today, they would rather check out elden ring instead.
First impression is important, especially for MMOs that have the bad rep of expecting a lot of time to stay relevant. FF14 might differ from the urgency to be in the latest patch, but "it gets good after 100 hours" is a very typical phrase towards new player just to bare through early game.
And gameplay is very important for many player. If your job is boring and the story hasn't caught your interest yet, you look for a game that is more fun faster. A player doesn't owe the game the time to get good.
And I specifically said feels "complete", because I don't mean finished. The job has to feel good enough, that everything after it is a pleasant bonus. And FF already does that after level 70, after that even some passive have such a big impact in gameplay, that one skill make a job much more fun. That doesn't mean a job isn't fun at 70, it just means it's at a point where you are satisfied to play it. Level 50 still feels like a fraction what it has to be, but progressionwise you are already passing through late game activities available to you. Jobs like samurai that basically start with their 3 stickers already feel more interactive than a dragoon before 70. This is ofcourse my opinion, but people also try to generalize their opinion that goes against a lot of complains.
@@Blubbii88 Agree with this 100% and they pretty much even admitted it in the Q and A.
Exactly. New players arent going to go on the forums and complain this is the case. MORE than ANYTHING, this is the beef people have with 14. People will play a *good* game whether its an MMO or not. The slog that can be ARR needs to be addressed. THIS is what pushes people away from the game. There is virtually no "actual" gameplay until your first dungeon.
No job needs any melds unless you're trying to do savage raids, and even then it only matters in the first month or so + suboptimal melds are adequate usually.
damn RIP cross DC PF, fingers crossed that we get it during DT
They're acting like they didn't know this was an issue for at least a year, probably closer to two.
IN IN IN!
These questions were very vell chosen, great work! Not super happy with all the answers (esp regarding Hall of the Novice, putting the responsibility of teaching the base battle knowledge entirely on unpaid busy players instead of providing them as a dev is imo kind of a really bad move ^^; ), but it's good to make them aware of some things and get some clear answers towards others. :)
I'm a bit surprised you didn't ask about this whole issue with SEA, SA and African players not being able to pay their subs due to the system not supporting many SEA addresses etc. Would have been nice to get a reply to this messed up situation.
My Strummer LETSGO

Though the gear reward idea that won't be max item level but meant to be a gap closer, could be like how Bozja has gear that was five item levels from max cap. Guess that's fair otherwise raiders will get upset.
Would be neat if the incorporated Monster Hunter Sunbreak's gear augmentation mechanic. Were you can raise/add stats and abilities to gear. So you could say, get a normal raid body piece, and RNG blessed you with +5 item level, extra Materia slot, and a bump to stats. There could be negative stats to offset so a piece doesn't become too overpowered.
what? Arthars in media tour? congrats !
I'm with Woops, get rid of materia slots and substats on gear, and have materia be melded on an equippable materia scroll.
Damn Xeno didnt even ask about beards.
I agree so much with Xeno about Question 4. The one asking basically wasted an entire question for absolutely nothing. Even Yoshi-P essentially said nothing in his answer, that's how bad the question was.
The other questions were fine, good job boys and thanks for the coverage !
I wouldnt say its a bad question as lore is a driving factor for a large amount of people. Had the question lead to an answer for potential lore then people would of went crazy speculating and calling this person behind the queation amazing for getting some info. Obviously their was better questions but prep for an expansion is also important for people and a question like that can help.
Media toooooour strummeeeer
th-cam.com/video/wPrqfcv3CDY/w-d-xo.html Day 2 NA Media tour Q&A being discussed, time stamp 3.30.37 to 3.51.22.
This is what I have been saying all the time and had a debate with a few people. These complaints about how "this thing is so inconvenient therefore should be change" made this game so easy and became boring. An example is Xeno's constant complaints about certain stuff like TBN mp cost should be remove because other tanks can use their without penalty is what's wrong with this community. Yoshi p will listen and it will lead to everything feeling the same.
2-3 years to fix PF? Sheeeeeeesh
Not fixing pf but creating a whole system on top of what there is.
Have you seen PF?
@@ikeaira8701 But what he was talking about was just combining regions to a single PF not 'fixing' anything. It would just be giant PF. Now if they also planned to redesign PF while at it, that would be amazing. But it's not what I think he was focusing on in that answer.
2-3 years to fix a problem that's been known for 2-3 years
What if they just prevented travelers from using PF? That would roll back the most socially broken aspect of DC travel.
3:00 keep pushing with this man, we need a central party finder
Lmao yoship watched zepla critique video
It’s very clear lol
17:30 lmao y’all too hardcore 😂
I can hear Arthars smiling at 17:42 when talking about being asked to be nicer to new players lmfao
Admittedly yeah, i have a couple friends who really desperately needed the duty support system to get comfortable with playing the game, because now they actively play with other people in it and feel no more anxiety when it comes to dungeons and trials and such. Even moving beyond DPS into tanking, objectively more pressure.
While content creators may not have been able to see the effects of Endwalker and Shadowbringers like that, it's definitely been happening in droves.
how come you didnt ask him about automarker
Question 4 is pretty stupid.
Yoshida is correct, if you actually care about the lore, why havent you finished all the quests?
It was an obvious bait question for clues on the story. Yoshi-P and anyone really could sus out such a thing.
@@lewis4369 but why would that matter, if you care about lore, would t you have already done all the quests and know all of the lore anyway?
9:48 I hate the implication that learning to manage gear and their melds is difficult and especially the kind of difficulty players are looking for. It’s not difficult to have to re-meld your gear if you’re swapping jobs, it’s needless tedium and a symptom of an outdated mindset. What I think players are asking for when they ask for more difficulty are more varied mechanics that break the mold of different flavors of stacks, spreads, etc.
to the last question. Nah we all know it's all Ultima end of the day, no matter what xpac and lore is releasing in the future xD
I had to raise the volume by alot
fppong gets mad baldly
How about an fc only purchable item only useable with dc traveler status that give fc buff for 2 hours and removed on dc travel.
Like squadron manuals ? Those works on DC travel and are personal 2h buffs as potent as FC buffs. The non access to retainers is a bigger issue
damn even the strummers don't care about how terrible healer experience is sadge
Just give melee aoe at level 15 lol
Was it just me or was this video especially quiet? Can barely hear Arthars
Edit: specifically around the 11:00 mark and on. I had to pump up my volume
No
17:09 big fat copium on that answer yoshida...
"The community is not nice, because i'm a piece of shit and i'm part of the community."
-Most people who disagree with the great community sentiment
I get the idea of materia being weird and annoying at times, but a lot of the solutions presented just seem counterintuitive.
If you let us meld our job stone itself, then you'd only need one set of materia for your preferred stats at the start of the expansion, then there's no reason to gather more after that. If they let us just move materia from one piece of gear to another without risk of breaking, then the same thing happens.
What I think they should do is give gear the ability to hold different "meld plates". So if you've got a hat that goes well for Black Mage and Red Mage, and you want spell speed for one class, and crit for another, then they should let you set up a different set of materia to be active when you're on a certain class.
So just right click the gear, select "create materia plate" then select what gear sets this plate will be active for. Then add materia as if it was empty again.
This way you still have to engage with acquiring materia, but don't have to deal with the suboptimal stats on some jobs.
While I generally find your streams pretty off-putting personality wise, I want to thank you and the others in the group you were with for their substantive questions. It's kind of jarring to see some of the other creators that were invited ask the most generic softball questions possible; and I really appreciate this you and the rest of this group for putting forth more impactful ones.
I love your streams Arthars-Chan 😌
WeirdChamp
DPS players will fold under individual/unique responsibility. try asking your R1 to do anything LOL
I agree with that as of right now, considering the playerbase's competency level. A return to what sounds like Coil style mechanics, with the devs having some combat design experience now, is the thing keeping me interested in Savage. T11, 12 and 13 style fights would be good. The playerbase can learn, and if not they gonna.
perhaps i am a sheep for this but this pacified me ngl
Why is the audio so low? It's so hard to hear you. Otherwise it's a great job.
YoshiP looked at Zepla and said "I watched your video, and we used it as feedback to make the game better."
Holy gigachad. And good for Zepla!
question 4 is such a waste of a question lol
3 was a waiste who tf cares about skills before 50
@one_eyeddd473 many people cuz there are jobs that simple don't work or not complete before 70 -90 that completely changes the gameplay of that job like a flip of a coin
@@one_eyeddd473People doing roulettes or do other types of older synced content who don't want to be bored out of their minds when they get content that isn't the newest stuff.
@@one_eyeddd473 New players? Sync content? It matters to both new and old players.
@@DrevosSoulit’s funny because Summoner is like this, but people complain it doesn’t get much new stuff between low level and high level lol
#4 is probably Jesse and it's a valid question. It infers what is going to be coming storywise.
ofc we dont know the names of the people that asked those USELESS ass questions about single player stuff, wasted media tour invitations
Why you mad
No plans
Very difficult
Not enough resources
He's been answering stuff the same way for a decade.
Yes its a common response because thats how things are. You can't fix everything at once. New stuff takes priority over old systems and those system get updated based on priority and cost. If they went full on fixing old system then their wouldnt be as much new stuff and you would complain about it.
Depressing Q and A
So combat gameplay will be still trash below level 70/80.
Especially for something like Summoner, which despite already being a fairly simple job at high-level content becomes extremely basic at anything below level 86, which is all but less than two expansions of newer content.
Who tf asked 4 and 5? What a waste of an opportunity to get some actual insight.
its probably Jesse Cox. He mentions in his media tour video that another group asked mechanics and systems related questions, while his group asked about story and lore
he pretty much openly admits thoughout the whole video that he only cared to ask "haha funny" kinds of questions. not a big fan tbh. Pretty big waste in my opinion
Lame ah
Bunch of sheeps parrotin xeno words about question 4. If you think for one sec about previous expansions, it's not hard to understand it's reasoning at all.
I’d rather the devs take feedback from Arthars and Xeno than dumba** parsers. They’ve held the game hostage too long now.
Why is TERFy Zepla there? She hates the game
Constructive criticism of some aspects of the game doesn't mean that she hates the game overall. Blindly supporting any decision that Square Enix makes and lashing out at other people for not always doing that stops any future patch improvements.
if Square Enix is fine with her being there why does it matter to you?
I mean I disagree with her takes on EW but if SE invited her then it's frankly not your problem bro lol
