This is probably the most "caster" a caster job has felt since Black Mage while also being incredibly unique and original. The more I see about this job, the more I really want to play it.
That is so interesting. Way different than any other caster we had before. also the 40s CD on swiftcast will mesh really well with the canvas skills I bet
Will Double Rainbow Drip like a loser with Swiftcast. Maybe Triple with the 2 minute. 1800-2700 potency won't be anything to scoff at methinks. Will bring new meaning to Taste the Rainbow.
It feels like they gave Picto everything possible other than a raise, cause the other casters aren't looking amazing guess imma be playing Picto whenever I play caster
I wish this job started at lvl70 or 60, i feel like there's a bit of a curve for a caster like this which would be better for learning, even with sage on low level content it's easy to mess up.
hmm makes me wander if Spell Speed will be a "thing" for this class due to long cast times unless the potency makes up for it. yeah the job looks confusing at first glance in terms of optimizing it. i hope its fun for everyone who tries it out.
Contrary to the doompost going on, I'm liking Black Mage even more after the changes in DT; but if any job will take me away from it it's gonna be Picto. The amount of versatility in rotation, options for movement by storing instant casts and a solid base rotation that's not that complicated to learn is a perfect recipe for me to actually learn this job properly; can't wait to try it!
Reminds me alot of DNC and MCH, where youre moving your combos and skills around, to wait for OGCDs timers. Eg, Using Canvas is going to rely on, A. How close are your Muse charges to being ready, B. How close to paint gauge are you, C. Do you need to use an instant cast GCD to move, and stuff like that Prioritising Hammer prior to heavy movement mechanics, so you have 3 instant cast GCDs Even minor things like Glare mechanics, or any time you have to turn away or point a laser ect, you can use Canvas there and keep your GCD rolling Swiftcast also really important, since its likely a big DPS gain to use the Rainbow Road skill, but you might need it to instant cast Canvas. Looks super fun
Arthars, have you internalized "An Answer"? And question is "Why Pictomancer even created?" Because it doesn't have any special support stuff. Damage (by developer words) - will be almost weakest of caster class. No combat res. Overcomplicated rotation.
Yea it was mentioned in the live letter that Picto does not have a raise. We already have two range DPS with raise so it wouldn't have made sense to also have picto have a raise
