So fascinating. My husband and I grew up in Iowa, and this couple is of similar ages to our parents. My husband's grandfather was 100% Ashkenazi Jewish, but his family are practicing Catholics. His horrible experience with Catholicism turned him away from G-d. For so long I have tried to be a devout Methodist, but I have so many issues with it, and I want us to live in truth. I have Jewish extended family, and I was exposed to Conservative Judaism a lot during my childhood. I pray that G-d will lead my family to the truth, and my husband can find the peace and knowledge I feel he's craving.

One comment - the term “messianic rabbi” is really an oxymoron, because by definition, if somebody considers themselves to be messianic and believing in Jesus, they can’t be a rabbi because a rabbi, by definition, practices Judaism.

To hear you say that you were kind of an odd child and didn't fit the mold of anyone around you, that hit me like a ton of bricks. Because that was me to a tee. My parents sent me to a very hoity toity Catholic girls school that I just could not keep up with. I wanted to do art, and when I was 10 and read Number the Stars, I wanted to be Jewish and an artist. I did not have the courage to convert until this year, I am 38 right now and I've been widowed since last year with a small boy. My husband's death gave me the courage I needed to take the plunge, if you will. I am attending a reform congregation although I don't know if it's for me yet. I live in a very heavily populated Jewish area around Philly and there are synagogues after synagogues after synagogues everywhere you look so I chose the one I knew, because they we're very kind to my son and me after my husband took his life and they raised some money for us, so that was the one that I knew about and I like doing social outreach and wanted to get involved as well. I didn't take into account the fact that I am so deeply shy that I can barely get a word out in casual conversation with anyone there let alone ask if I can join a group to help others.
I have so many questions and I imagine I will fit the rest of my life because what good is a life when one stops learning? But now I finally get to live my dream of being Jewish because I felt Jewish for so long, if that makes sense, and being an artist and one of the ways I've learned the most about Judaica and its history is through ART and it's given me this amazing way to praise HaShem! I so appreciated both of your stories. You've touched my life and encouraged me today. Thank you.
Edit: oh! Those coincidences you mention, they're called synchronicities. When certain factors combine, like with your dream and your house. Aren't they great? I work in the spiritual field making prayer and manifestation candles from home and I notice so many of those every day and I believe it's HaShem. Without a doubt.

From what I have heard, mot people who feel Jewish, it turns that in their genealogy, they are Jewish.
If u really want to pursue Judaism, it is a long process to orthodox Judaism.
If u enjoy videos, I suggest Jar of Fireflies, a convert to Judaism from Christianity who met a Sefadi man in the States and they are happily married w four children.

You say you are attending a reform congregation and you chose it because they were kind to you and your son. If you are serious about converting, I strongly suggest not converting reform, reformers are not Jews, they do not observe one Mitzvah(Commandment), so, if they themselves do not observe one Commandment, and there are 613 Mitzvot, out of the 613 Mitzvot 279 Mitzvot(Commandments) are to be observed in exile outside of Israel. So how is it possible for reformers and/or conservatives to convert you to Judaism when they themselves do not live Jewish, in that case you should look into learning about the 7 Universal Noachide Laws. But If you are still serious about converting, you should speak with an Orthodox Rabbi to see what is involved.

I respect and thank you both for sharing your story. I was raised Christian since 2 weeks old. I have more Jewish friends than anyone else from all over the world. I'm deeply connected and have a Jewish soul. I am not willing to give up Jesus though. Southeast US 90% Christian. My Grandaddy dated a Jewish girl back in 1928 in Mississippi and went to their home for Shabbat. How many Jews were in MS back then? Why would a Jewish girl bring someone home she knew her family would disapprove? Her father said, Otto oh you are Ashkenazi? He said can you prove your Jewish? He said I don't think i can. He told him unless you can prove it I will allow you to date my daughter but you can never marry her. I went to our local synagogue 20 years ago and have felt close to Jewish lkife. i even celebrated Hanukkah this past year and light my beautiful menorah each night. Yet I am a Christian. I am a complicated person at the moment. I love Jesus but what's wrong with me? Why have I kept being pulled / drawn to Judaism for over 20 years? I'm sorry for the long story but I'm sad. My Mom died, then 3 and half years later my Dad died. I have no children. No nieces or Nephews. I have never felt so alone in the world except for the fact I know the Lord will never leave me.

“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.”
“The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.”

Isaiah 53 is talking about Yeshua. Jesus the Christ.
“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬-‭12‬

Torah states there is no proxy....
Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie; nor a son of man, that he should repent….”.
Isaiah 43:11 "I, even I, am Yahweh; beside me there is no savior."
The Johannine Jesus in the passion narratives of Gospel of John (anonymous works) not only seems to contradict the Torah but also the Synoptic Jesus who is said to have stated “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone" in Mark 10:18 (also anonymous works). The conflict in those contradictions can only be overcome by recognizing the Johannine Jesus as being a symbolic representation of one's soul. That only through the love of the son (love from our soul) can we be with the Father (God) etc. So it may be a mistake to comprehend the passion narratives in Gospel of John literally.

Becoming increasingly fed up with these clueless people who just swap a set of toys with another (leaving Christianity for Judaism). Never growing up into adulthood, so they could think for themselves, never standing on their own feet, just wandering around aimlessly and drooling over the new glitzy cookie that might satisfy their sweet tooth. What's next, Islam?

The Palestinians don't have any history. They all came from arab countries to look for jobs at the jews farms that came to empty country. They satled at the lands that bought/rented from the Turkish sultan as desert and turn it to films. The arabs was Beduins that moved from places. They have no history at the Israeli land. Even the kings of Iraq and Jorden burnedand grow in Saudia without any local authority but the Turkish Sultan.
Who was their last king? They had no one. They herd the name palestinin only after the 6 day war. The even can not pronounce the word Palestine correct. They have not thr letter "P" in their language. They have only "F".
Even their leader Yaser Arafat born in Egept. With slave black roots - race.
The original Palestinians deported back to their Greec home lands & Islands. They are different race.
We find archeological meny things and coins that belong to the jews more then 2000 years ago.
