    Great information, thanks for sharing. Didn't know about the pretreatment, I guess that takes the place of the white underprint that was done back in the screenprinting days?

    I tried to duplicate a listing with 7 different sizes. This is for art prints, and the sizes are in different formats. But when I change the image, it doesn't delete the 7 mockups. I have to delete them manually, and then upload the new image to each of them, and place each of them manually. This consume too much time. How can I do this faster?

    Love the info you share. I am curious now that Monster scales the designs down now do you change the size of your design when you upload it. And I was recently told last week that Swiftpod does not scale down or up for any size garment - if we put are design in at 100% or 14 inches - that is what they will print. How do you made adjustments for smaller shirts because with Swiftpods 14 inch design space the design on a small shirt would wrap under the armpit and look terrible. How do you set your measurements - or do you manually adjust each order as it comes into your printify order section? I manually adjust each order - just curious how you do it.

    question, doesn't DTG ink soak into the fabric? I just came from a video before yours saying it soaks into the fabric. I want to put that disclaimer you showed.

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Actually, it depends on the process that the print provider uses. On colors other than white, pretty all print providers that I've used apply a transparent pre-treatment to the garment before printing on it, and this prevents the ink from soaking through. Pre-treatment on white garments is still possible, but most providers will use less or none since white fabric generally won't make colors look dull. Most providers apply a heavier pre-treatment to thicker black garments like sweatshirts and hoodies because without it, the ink would soak in too much and the black fabric would make the design appear dull with less detail. DTG printing is kind of like cooking - all the providers can be making the same final product, but each one could make it slightly differently based on what they think is the best process. Sorry for the long answer but this is why I use the disclaimer and specifically call out dark colors for sweatshirts & hoodies, because in my experience those will consistently have the stiffer pre-treatment that people notice where lighter colors generally either have less pre-treatment or none. I hope that helps!

    Hello, can you display hoodie and sweatshirt weight please for shipping it’s not accepting 8oz.

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi There, are you shipping packages yourself? For Etsy shipping profiles, you should not have to enter shipping/package weight. Print on demand suppliers then handle all the shipping details. If you are fulfilling orders yourself and purchasing shipping labels through Etsy, I would suggest getting a postal/package scale so you can be sure you are not overpaying for the package weight. I hope that helps!

    How do you handle the mockups photos for the Etsy listings? Printify mockups are so ugly and basic.
    I found this is the most time consuming.

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I agree, I don't use the standard mockups from Printify or Printful for anything other than showing different color options. I use Placeit for most of my mockups because they are much more realistic. They have a free account with some pretty good mockups available and a paid account that gives access to the whole catalog. It definitely takes time to do this for every listing, but to me it's worth the time for my listings to look more professional.

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Printify doesn't allow you to add multiple products into a template on their side, but you can create listings in your Etsy account (and save a template as a draft) and then add the SKU numbers for different products to create a bundle/combination listing on Etsy. I have a couple videos on this process and one is actually about mugs! th-cam.com/video/CL40UsLUFz8/w-d-xo.html

    Can I get a basic description of how you worded the pretreatment in your description?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure! Here is what I use:
      Printing Process:
      Our apparel is printed using a process called Direct To Garment (DTG). It applies the design with high accuracy directly onto the fabric. Some stiffness and a slight smell when it first arrives is normal and will wash out after 2-3 washes.

    Hi! Thank you so much for the videos, i just subscribed! Question: Do we have to keep the printify 'draft' listings in our draft listings or can those now be deleted since the skus are copied into the etsy listing?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! If you're using the SKU numbers in an active Etsy listing, you will need to keep the drafts in your Printify account so that the SKU numbers can be matched up on incoming orders. You don't need to keep the products as drafts on the Etsy side, just in your Printify account.

    So, how do you use this template again in Etsy, once you make it? Do you just go under your listings in your Etsy shop and do duplicate listing? I came here to this video bc I was going to offer the same shirt design, just different font choices, which actually make them look like separate items. But I think I can use this template, just by tweaking it just a bit. Thanks for this tutorial, I appreciate it. I'm not new to POD, but I am new to Printify.

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! This template in your Printify account is meant to help save you time on the details of the listing before you publish it to your Etsy shop, so you would use the Copy function in Printify and then change the design, title, and description each time before publishing. If you want to offer the same design with different font styles, you have a couple choices. You can copy the listing, alter the design and publish it as a separate listing, or you can add the different font style as a product variant in a single listing. That would still require a separate product listing in Printify, but you would add the variants into the Etsy listing manually instead of publishing it separately. This requires a little bit of work to match SKU numbers to the variants, but it allows your orders to sync with Printify. I have a video about how to do that and it certainly would work for adding different font styles. th-cam.com/video/VpJ0mMyQfSo/w-d-xo.html

    Random question. Do you create mockups for every color or is there a better less tedious way around that?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I do create mockups for each color of apparel products unless there are too many products in the listing to show them all. If that's the case, I use a single color-chart image that just shows all the color choices. I think I actually bought the color chart a digital download from a seller on Etsy for like $3 because I was feeling lazy, but it would be pretty easy to make one in Canva for Photoshop. I do have a shortcut for making the color mockups though! I use a Photoshop script with a template so all I do is put the design in the top layer and it kicks out all the color options as separate files. If you use Photoshop (may also work on Photopea), check out how it works: th-cam.com/video/ZW0jPlFd9RE/w-d-xo.html

      @@PODinsights Thanks for the reply! I ended up making a color chart in Canva, I do have photoshop but i'm trying to integrate Canva into most things as it seems to be faster and i'm trying to pump out listings. I also cut down the amount of colors i'm using from 14 to 6 and then added in my color chart script saying that I can do custom colors as well. But i'll check out the photoshop guide too since I do still use photoshop for some things.

    each time i copy one, it asks to create a new shipping profile. Then I see a bunch of profiles all for the same type of product. Should I let it create new each time?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! When you publish the listing, at the bottom of the listing editor page you can select an existing shipping profile if you un-check the "create new shipping profile" box. I use the same shipping profile for all t-shirts, one for all sweatshirts, etc. so I don't have it create a new one for every listing. You can delete any that you aren't using from your Etsy shop account by going to Settings > Shipping Settings. I hope that helps!

    • @PODinsights

      Hi! In the design editing view on Printify, towards the to right area of the screen you should see a small arrow that says "All Colors". If you click on that, a box with all the color options should pop up. You can select all the colors you want to offer in the listing and you only have to upload the design once. Hope that helps!

      Hi, to get a size chart with Printify, you will need to manually add one when publishing the listing in your Etsy shop. You can take a screenshot of the size chart on the Printify product page (in the product catalog), or create a size chart of your own.
