  • I found a solution to my long standing Model 3 Rear seat rattle.

    Thank you, this rattles drive me crazy i figured it out also after many attempts to find the source and your solution is great ! Even the service center couldn't point were the rattles coming from

    How did you get to the bolts on those seats? I'm struggling, same issue.

      The leather covered parts that the seatbelts lay on pull off. They are apparently called C-pillars covers. Might need to look up How to remove them.

    Had this problem too. I just used felt tape and wrapped it around and between bolt on seat that worked great. Thanks

    Thank you so much for this video. I had this same issue and got it fixed after taking it to Tesla four time. Which of course they said it was within spec. Final took it apart my self and it’s good to go now.

    Have very similar sounds in model y produced 12/2021. I’ll attempt to take a look at these areas. Thanks for posting video. When my kids sit in seats, sounds go away which makes sense.

    Adding a shim can move the bench to the side a little bit and cause it to scratch the metal hooking mechanism from its side. That will cause a new squeaking noise after doing the fix in the video.
    If that's your case make sure to check it out and add extra material on the side of the hook so it doesn't scratch against the plastic.

    I had the same rattle issue. It took a long long time to find the rattles came from that hinges.

    Szia Mike! I experience a similar rattling, or rather a DUMB CLICK in the backrest of the left front seat - when starting off - only sometimes, but still very disturbing!!! Do you have experience with this? When I stand on the lumbar support, the DUMB CLICK does not appear for a few days... b/r.

      @@chrispetrillose It does not click in certain seating positions. I don't feel the pin joints are the source of the problem.
      I haven't seen a video of a disassembled seat yet.

    Was removing the trim pieces on the side of the seat to expose these bolts easy to do? ty

      Man, I am terrible at responding apparently. Sorry about that. Yes it was pretty easy, Just pull from the top and they pop right off.

    Good video. bracket was for sure a problem.Center sleeve was still in place. I used a rubber washer to eliminate slop in bracket.Lube also. I also added 1/2" foam insulation along top bracket where top of seat clamps in place. Placed on metal inside cover. Solved problem.

    The Expedition/Navigator with 3rd row seats has the same problem on the smaller side of the seat. A plastic 1/16" thick washer between the bracket bolt took care of the problem. Great troubleshooting video.

    Hello I have the exact same issue and I am not very confident with the remove process of "Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row ». Th service manual says that the pastic bracket (Bolster - Side - Seat Clip : 1111033-00-E) is a "one time use only ».
    Please can you help with the remove and install process ?
    You seems to have managed to do it wihout breaking this bracket.
    This rattle drives me crazy !

    What year is this m3, mine is 2021 and doesn't have the bracket in between the seats I did all spots you mentioned and still can hear a tiny rattle any advice?

    My sleeve was so sloppy I had to put electrical tape on the rod so it wouldn’t go into the seat, if you 3D print the sleeve I’ll be your first customer

    Does the rattle sound high pitch? I have similar movement. But my annoying rattle sound high pitch like plastic hit metal sheet.

      @@KiloDoubleMike just remove the seat and the rattle still here but Tesla has followed you to make that plastic piece in the middle. mine is 2021 model 3.

      @@kinhung You mean that sleeve or that the sleeve now has a flange on it? The sleeve was stock, I hope they updated the design for that purpose though.

      @@KiloDoubleMike got the original rattles fixed by tesla, is trunk trim and they said they lubricate the rear seats. however, they just make new rattle from the joints of the rear seats. I can press the seats to make the noise now

      @@KiloDoubleMike back from tesla, door panels rattle gone by replacing new clips, D pillar rattle gone , they reinstall something. but they just give me the exact new rattle from the back seat in your video. try to solve it myself some days.

    THANK YOU. My seats move up and down about 9 thousand feet each direction, I BET this is the problem. Thanks a ton, I'll report back when I fix it. Also have an insanely annoying squeak that I cant find, maybe it's on of those bushings.
