Tyler Robert... Quit being a hater. Its a PERFECT car for daily commuting, having some fun on the side roads, and blasting the tunes. This is a true drivers car. And although its compared to the WRX and the GTI and the ST it is a league of its own... Naturally aspirated with over 200 HP is pretty good. those other cars are well over 27K for the same tech and sound options. I got my civic si for 21,500. For an extra 6K I could make the car have 400+ hp. Drive one before you hate. Oh and did I mention on the highway mine gets about 32 mpg? Not going to get that with the competition.
Ah, the 'enthusiasts' that love to hate the Si. We can never win, James Coll. The Si is an example of a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. But I have to admit that the K20 sounds better. Sorry.
I had 2006 and 2008 si FBO and I loved them .. the torque sucks on the 8th gen even lowering the vtec engament . I just got a 2013 9th gen si... and let me tell you the torque is amazing . I wouldn't go back to a 8th gen ever..
How do you like your car so far? I love mine! I just tinted it and I think that's all the mods I'll put on this car...the stock SI exhaust is tuned and loud enough for me. As always, its fun to drive!
Those 2 tone seats are clean hand stitched the first in si seats to and The Hp 205 stock is better than nothing but the wheels throw the car off and the sedan looks better than the coupe I think in my view and it's a awesome car tho and vtec cracks carbon in dash and the touch screen is awesome
Great video and love the Lumia 1020 you using coming from a iPhone 6 user.😳😁. I'm going to get this car for a secondary car while I fully tuned my VW Gli Atubahn !! Love the German a bit more plus DSG is hard to beat out using manual transmission.
This almost makes me wanna trade in my paid-off 2012 civic LX for one of these. I don't know, I think i'll enjoy no car notes for a little while longer. If I did get this, it would be my first manual car and only my second owned one. So i'd have to learn manny driving in it.
I cant believe they were reving it up so high before it was warmed up and How stupid that they red lined this brand new car before complete break in! I m glad ididnt buy my 2014 si sedan from them!!!
Good job man, clean car, those red seats tho should be Type R issue only, and please please buy some springs or coil overs and drop the car an inch and a half or so!

Its honestly a quiet car, but it still sounds amazing when you hit vtec. I hit vtec twice starting at 3:38; apologies for recording this on my photo camera which doesn't really capture the sound that good, like anything it sounds better in real life. :-)
hey can you play your app games through that screen when you hook up your phone through the hdmi? also, i know you can watch youtube through it but can you watch any other videos such as netflix or even just video on your phone?
So i love my FRS but im in need of something more practical... I had the 07 Si coupe and it was fun. But now im thinking the 14 si Sedan or the Ford Fiesta ST...or Mazdaspeed 3 :o
Why a 2014 expensive car model doesn't include led and hids? That is disrespectful! Specially from Honda!!! A waste that sexy front with that kind of lights.
I dont get why there isnt a camera on the left mirror? It makes no sense bc you usually only use the right directional to go to an exit so you dont need to check your mirror but you use the left mirror to merge so it is way more important to have it on the left than the right.

Quick question. When going from neutral to first gear on my Si I have noticed that when I just push the shifter in a diagonal motion to first gear, my take offs are generally pretty unsmooth. But when I take the shifter and I move the shifter in a curve pattern to first gear I feel my car take off as I let off the clutch. Is their a proper way to take off from first gear?
Really, it shouldn't make a difference. You probably have a habit in your left foot linked to how you shift into first. I've had similar habits, I'm sure. To test this theory, shift the two different ways, but wait a three-count before lifting the clutch off the floor for each different method. That'll tell you if it's a clutch issue or a selector fork issue. Scientific method and such...
But then we couldn't make fun of the Euro-spec "Type R" ... ;) Honestly, everyone wants Honda to stop being so stuffy and bring us ALL JDM-Spec Civic Type-R's.
I had an Si for 3 years now and the only thing i changed was the OIL, 36000KM i add & the brakes are still 70% left, I probably can do 3 oil changes for the price of 1 oil change with VW GTI. Also thanks to VW for adding a Turbo which mean frequent check ups and maintenance which u have to buy $$$ extra & added to ur monthly whether u like it or not... so on and so forth!
Why is this guy pounding on the throttle in the first hundred miles? To show us vtech. Don't do that. Vtech works better when the valves break in properly at the right temperatures.
Relax I don't drive like this all day everyday, just figured people would want to see and hear the car hit vtech; besides I didn't even push first gear. The car was over 1k miles at this point, Off the lot I literally drove it up and down the west coast from the bay to San Diego at a steady 65-70mph before I got home and recorded this a week after that.
Ugliest Civic Si i ever seen so far! The rims look like something a college girl bought at a mexican wheel shop and the interior looks like it was also custom made with red stripes at the same "pimp my ride" autoshop.
Its funny how you Yanks put rear wings on every car. You do realize the Honda has front wheel drive, and the rear wing is just a joke, and the world laughs at the cars sold in the states. Its a good reliable car, but nothing more.

I was thinking the same thing; it all comes down to taste and what you want. I like both of them so it would be hard for me to decide.
What i would do is test drive them both and see what you like driving more and decide from there. Not a short test drive either, really test it out.
I ended up buying the Si. FRS is fun and all, but just lacks practicality. Si for me was a better overall car.
