The owner of this truck is awesome. He flew into town one night in Tennessee and drove my old 80 series home year and years ago. Hes actually still got it. Fast forward and we both drive pretty much the exact same 60 series. 5.3. Coil swap. Same bumper. The cruiser world is super small. Super awesome to see him in this video!
Great to see you on here! Maybe we can talk the TFL guys into having our trucks out to their ranch one day.
Seems like a nice balanced setup. The stock LS has enough power without overdriving the chassis. Lots of work, but still looks fairly stock. The kind of mods I like.
So this one is actually an FJ80 chassis with a FJ62 Body and an LS! Cool truck - lots of work in this.
Great episode, digging into the new LC250 for a daily and learning more about the older models. The LS swap is interesting to hear about after seeing all the uber high end Corsetti Cruiser posts in my feeds.
Great job kase. ❤
Beautiful rig. From the side the body stance reminds me of altered wheel base race cars from the 60’s 😅
I saw a crazy huge 60s sedan today on the highway in California. It was an American one in great shape, too wowed me
The wheels seem like the factory set up that LX450 had in the 90’s. 80 series had no groove in them. Love that he plans on keeping it alive!!
They are actually lx450 wheels
A LX450 is an 80 series. But yes, those are LX wheels
@@donleamon8653 I meant the LC version but yes!👍
Exactly why V8s should be here to stay. Easy power, no need to turbocharge, more reliability. Kudos to Range rover for not only keeping a V8 but also, its a hybrid!!! V8s can be hybrids too! Saw that on another channel but modern technology allows us to keep V8s, and thats what we want.
LS versus adding a supercharger to the 4.5 i6. This worked for him , nice rig.
Turbocharger is the answer, not supercharger.
Cool looking rig with a nice power plant.
These are great vehicles. The 6cyl is a decent engine but if you want to haul anything you need to put a V8 in it. I'm sure it would help with wheeling as well.
In the middle east, we have these rear sliding windows. So, they are OEMs.
Bump-It Offroad! I’ve got a set of his step sliders on my LX450. Wasn’t his name Mike? Nice build! Planning out a LT repower for mine now. After 12 years and 125k miles, I’ve had enough of 4 cylinder power, with V8 thirst!
Very nice.
Nice truck.
Ya Trey! Do Jim next.
Lol the double square headlights
Well done Case.
Unfortunately, such cars are not made now! Too bad!
Overheated hauling a kayak. Yet I've been told these are the best off roaders ever. Huh.
It was a 40 year old truck that wasn't taken care of very well, as he stated. That's why he replaced the engine and trans. Huh.
Like there isn't older trucks that don't break down...u don't see these on the road because they have all gone extinct..meaning most them have even with maintenance @@andyleo8418
He said he was worried not that it actually happened
@@Dmonsterparedes0625that boomer is hard of hearing 😂😂
It was hard to get insurance for them as their value went up every year.
Wonder why he didn't swap it with the 5.7 liter tundra motor?
Goober tier swap - LS
Way more aftermarket support for LS swaps than there is for the 3UR-FE.
If you take care of that engine, it will never die. 90's LS V8s are among the most reliable engines on the planet. That's a major reason why everyone wants to LS swap their cars.
The major reason, at least in the US, is because they are cheap and plenty of parts for it. Go to other parts of the world and a 3UZ makes more sense.
Everyone wants to LS swap because they are relatively narrow and ubiquitous so others have already done the homework for the swap.
LS reliability is OK pre-2007 and utterly atrocious after. LS3 was the last decent LS/LT
Is this kid the same guy from Torture Test youtube chanel?
Which kid?

I would love to have one of those old land rovers (though the gas bills would be killer)
I dont like engine swaps best to keep the truck all original..should have bought a v8 truck
I guess where to go to here the story of “I got my truck stolen” if you are going to interview someone let them talk
Not a fan of what this guy did with the landcruiser, wished he kept it all OG.
I mean, it's essentially no longer a Toyota, I guess if you got the money, go crazy.
This swap will just ruin the LC reliability. No hate intended 😂😂😂
🤔 curious to know how...
You think a 45 year old stock engine would be more reliable? Not sure about that.
No it won't. It will let it run even longer. More power, more torque, better mpg, no timing belt, parts are everywhere, easy to maintain, and easy to upgrade. Sorry but the LS is the best solution for any vehicle.
@zockheem I think that's because the LS V8 is the most popular V8 engine in North America, unlike the UZ and UR engines from Toyota that are much less common. In countries where the LS isn't available, anyone that wants to swap in a V8 in their cars would go for a Toyota V8 for most of the same reasons someone in the US will swap an LS V8 into their car.
No hate please. Just my opinion.. 😊😊😊
LS swap - gross
I agree not a gm fan
Having that wheezy old I6 suck wind uphill seems grosser to me
Toyota Engine=trash
Found on road dead engines even worse
@@John-zk1ow LS = spiced pumpkin latte of V8s
Just dont get it wet or you won't have a body at the end of the trip because nothing rusts faster than Toyota crap
At least their bodies don't, they look good as the frame rusts away, whereas, Fords/GMs look like a rust bucket as it happens.
