There are actually 4 books in the Super Mario Land series. I guess at the time, Kodansha didn’t really know how far the comics would run and so the second, third and fourth books carry the same name. Volume 2 is about Tetris, volume 3 is about Golf and volume 4 is about Qix! Why not Alleyway or something else altogether?

Super Mario Land was the first Mario game I ever owned and played...but it wasn't until I played Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga that I truly fell in love with the series. :3 (Plus, I got the game in a batch of my first video games ever, and with no save feature, of course I was crap at it. I also got Pokémon Blue in that same batch, which ended up changing my life, so...)

I had a fun time hearing this, thanks. I really like super mario land as it more action pack and has great character which is different to other mario games which feel the same . Too bad sequel didn't continue this as it was simplistic and same as other Mario games. SML is great game that i always will love to play.

It's pretty difficult to actually collect those coins in the bottom of the pyramid in the first stage. The second set of coins are a little easier to get but still pretty hard.

Yea of course I knew that, at the time when this video was new it was a set up to announce the next video would be all about the Hogan manga book, so I left thinks kind of open. There are a lot of old NJPW and IWGP matches at dailymotion, the channel name is classics revival and for example there are about 30 matches of Great Muta alone, all in Japan. Hogan, Big Van Vader, Sting, even Ric Flair and Randy Savage in Japan.

Gaijillionaire I forgot to say (write) on that classics revival channel there are also commercials, promos and all kind of media coverage and matches build up.
It is really different from the USA they have that huge lets call it "realism" manner, they interview athletes in a press rooms and after the match like in any other proffesional sports. Like it is expected that wrestlers analyze themselves and their opponets, not just to threat and yell in the mic.

Have you ever heard of "Ma-Ba (Mattel Bandai) Zombies? they was a Japan only toy line... im OBSESSED with them.. do you know anything about them perhaps? they was in the 80s but id die on the cross to own them all. they got weird names too, like the Frankenstein monster is named "Taranken" the Hopping Vampire is "Pyonpi" the Reaper is Onigami, ect.. www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/ma-ba-zombies/ talks about them, not sure if you're interested in the subject but i figured since you're into Japanese stuff you might have an original take on the subject?
I know of them and they seemed pretty popular here and even some websites list all the release info about it. I’m short on space so I’m not a big collector. However I do have a Japanese friend who sells toys at flea markets and the next time he has a sale I’ll check it out. I’m sure he has some because he has everything

In Japan its a bit different even now. I watched the movie Karada Sagashi who is an Horror Movie based on a Novel and a Manga. The Manga is a Shounen manga and pretty bloody. The Movie has an Age rating for 12 and there was a lot of Blood and you even see a Character cut in half and get impaled. In Germany and pretty sure in a lot of other Countrys the movie would have a much higher rating. As one example.
Only thing i know about comic bonbon is that they been behind games like medarot/medabots 1 and mobile monsters telefang

Read the Volume today. Was a great Manga. I am really supirsed that this Su Girl is dying and dont come back. I also like how Peach and Saisy are in this manga. Super Mario in Manga or Comic Form are such interessting. Each one has his own Charme. Mario kun, Mario KC or even the US Mario Comics. Sadly i think new mario Comics or new manga Series doesnt would have much Charme anymore.

I've also never understood Japan's love of the Easter Island Moai heads. It's strange especially since Rapa Nui is under the jurisdiction of a South American country for at least over a 100 years, If I'm not mistaken.

What’s the difference between KC Mario and Super Mario Kun?
Good question ! Different artists and stories but also different release dates. The KC comics were released weekly to coincide with the most recent game at the time and were then compiled into books
I think the biggest difference is the Humor. Super Mario kun has much more Humor.

That character is *not* Bakabon, that's actually Bakabon's papa.
You see, for whatever reason, Bakabon's papa ended up becoming Tensai Bakabon's most popular character despite the fact that his son, Bakabon himself, is the one who gives the manga its name.
This is made even more prominent in later anime adaptations since they tend to follow the father's misadventures instead of his son's.
His popularity was such that papa's catchphrase "kore de ii no da" (it'll be alright) has pretty much become the franchise's slogan.

It brings more backstory to the Empire of Sarasaland. And Daisy's character lore expands. We get to see her Father (She mentions him alot in Itadaki street, mario party 3, fortune street.)
She has always been rebellious, mischievous, strong, and a prankster since her begginings.💋 That's why she stands out & is not the typical Princess. 😪

This month is Daisy's 30th Anniversary. On April 21st, when Super mario Land released back in 1989.
You should do a collab with WeAreDaisy Official Channel and make a video to celebrate her. It should be about this Manga and her starring role throught the KC series.

I would like to know if nintendo still sells the mangas. Are they found in book stores? These mangas should have an International release to be honest. It gives more story development to the different game franchises.

Like Dragon Quest XI took more than year to be localized. Also, Trails of Cold Steel III is just releasing this year in November on the West while Trails 4 is already out in Japan. NOOOO, why!!😶

That’s a very dedicated channel. I’ll watch these. As far as the translation I just kind of write it down as I go in my free time until it’s done. I don’t translate every single word but make it understandable in English while reflecting the original text. I have the books but they’re long out of print. Actually there were different publishers who did Mario Zelda and other books so there’s many different versions out there.

I’m 137 pages in of 600. I know I said that but I kept having life get in the way. But it’s coming along. I do plan to keep doing as many kc books as I can find. It should take 15-20 years at this pace to do them

Beat Takeshi has been on my list!! Maybe kinnikuman but I’m always wary of copyright. I think these are doable though. Actually I’ll announce it on the channel at the end of the year but I need to take a break and during the winter vacation I’m going to write as many scripts as I can, it’s kind of hard to balance writing and editing while working

Nintendo Japan's "Game Boy" ad campaign certainly was a rather interesting one with the use of kids traveling around like that. I'm sure that was an interesting way to show the portability of the system.
Yea! With Randy Newman, who the kids just love. But I think much like the name GameBoy it was kind of a stab at the Walkman and those kinds of ads were kind of the same. Like an artsy slice of life. But I was shocked to find there really wasn’t any Mario Land promo material. Just the GB in general

I don’t know specifically but I don’t think so. If you mean things like Disney, of course they’re tightly controlled but they also like it the American way for American cartoons. I know public domain stories get adapted. Heidi being the most popular.
Batman apparently had a decent run in Japan as a manga. Chip Kidd (the designer of the famous Jurassic Park logo) has procured and compiled them for English territories.
There have been some adaptations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.There's a site called TMNT Entity that has scans of some of them.
There are anime: Powerpuff Girls Z and Stitch!, as well as Supernatural: The Anime Series.
