@@dovajunbormah I'm in the "usual spot" (lol) north of Denica near the two bridges that go across the river. So much flat land there for farming/building. Maybe when I inevitably restart I'll build up north near the top mine from the little creek. Take it easy.
Just want to let you all know that if you have a big rock in the way of building, you can "MOW" it down. Act as if you are starting a crop, set it, POOF rocks are gone, destroy crop and now you can build. This works most of the time.
Dude, your background song!! Wow, what a nostalgic feeling hearing the old Stonghold melody and I actually thought how this game is almost a 3D Stronghold and I'm totally in love. Thanks for the videos!
Being far from mines isn't so bad because you can always plop down a storage by the mine and never have to worry about transporting ores again. North Denica is my favorite because of how much flat land is there allowing for a massive expansive city with large farmlands. I'll often build a road in a straight line north to act as my main street crossing in a straight line from one of the roads leading to Gostovia. The thing that drives me the most crazy about that location is the vast majority of the trees are only birch trees, so you get less logs and sticks for the physical output. Love this game, cant wait for multiplayer.
On my 2nd play now I built SE Denica and it's so nice, you can build into the forest, next to the lake yet you have open field for farming and as my building style is natural( following the landscape and trees) it's so nice looking aswell.
@@SirJayWalker also try a more organic style, the NWSE grid based villages can be beatiful aswell but a more realistic medieval style is better IMO. :D
The lake is the best! I kept restarting because I didn’t like my village location, so glad I finally chose the lake! It’s got everything you can ask for. Just make sure not to build to close to animals you’d like to continue to hunt, there’s wisents just north west of the lake. Also, I think crows don’t leave as long as you only build fields where their spawn is, unless they just spawn in fields😂
one of my favourites is just above the triple waterfall east of gostovia, a large flat area plenty of meat in the early game, lots of rock to insulate houses with and as short distance to the mines near Hornica, only problems, wolves and Wisent if youre not careful early game and a short distance to build a fishing hut
Yesterday my first game. Build my first house northwest of the Gostovia. Near the bridge to Baranica. Don't know it's a good location but scene is beautiful, lots of trees and not far to the starting location. Game looks promising.
I've started new save couple of times despite having around 90 hours, my current and longest one is located just to the west of Gostovia (as soon as I was able to place down a house I started building the village there) and to be honest I really like it, it's the best place I started yet. I have really close to the main village, not that far to mine (and I already put down resource storage there so it's even easier), maybe not that much space for fields but for now its enough (I'm going to spread out to the west even more, maybe up top in the direction of the mine). Overall I'm really enjoying it. :)
I think the spot you missed is between two spots you indicated: Further west of Gostovia at the edge of the forest where the road to Denica forks off (about the middle between the two Villages but along the river). This location is effectively in the center of the northern part of the map, with easy access to everywhere except Honica and Jezerica (which only REALLY matters for the Uniegost questline, buying a horse, or recruiting - unless you pick up another quest or want to hunt down there - something newer players can avoid until they're up to speed on hunting/combat). It's also located equidistant between the North and Center caves, and once you build a Resource Storage building at either, gathering ore and stone is easy to build your Extraction Skills. There are lots of Maple trees to get started (some Spruce and Birch but you don't have to clear-cut the forest, and once your Woodcutter's Shed is up and running, you can focus on building, rather than singing the "Lumberjack Song" from Monty Python. All the stone and reeds you could need are readily available with the river right there. The land slopes gently up to the south away from the river, and there is plenty of open space to build over towards the creek to the west. The only threat in the area is Boar, and after a few buildings are up, this spawn will be eliminated. Prime hunting grounds are off to the west, along the road to Denica. It's also a good location to run a lap around the river and check all the loot and camp spawn locations for things needed early-game. I highly recommend this location for newer players of the game.
That is where I build my first city. I liekd the boars, they are easy to kill, are required for an early chapter quest and provides leather for seed bags. Since they don't run away and you don't do much dmg early game, boars are the easiset way to get leather early on.
Strted this game all wrong but have enjoyed trying to recover from my bad decisions. Played a year and a half on twenty days. Made the story go by quick but man, seemed like every resource was a nonstop grind. I also shot the body and building counts up too fast. Only on my fourth year but this games bulbs fantastic
@justinlahaie5439 takes a bit of time but you could always move your village 😬 I wouldn't recommend it unless you are running out of things to do though

My first game was west of gostovia, I just got tired of traveling for so long and not understanding everything. Making mistakes that have big consequences cuz this game is a GRIND. Just started a new one northeast of Denica, placing my first house and field near the crossing.(also turning up the tech and skill gain 800-1000% just to get through the fat grind a bit quicker and get a mount. As I don’t have hundreds of hours to spare. So far quite enjoying my second game!
for people that like building villages on or by the hills, In my opinion looks way better, needs to know that fields on hill sides work just fine and save you room to build buildings on the flat spots.
You’re a fucking legend. Have learned so much watching your videos. Just got the game over the weekend and holy shit this game is awesome and detailed. Thanks for all the help!! (Don’t worry I paid the kings tax with a like on this video lol)
I would recommend editing this video with arrows pointing to the specific locations, then reposting it, i had to pause each time to try to figure out which spot you were referring to, and im still not sure if it's the right location, and the time it's up is way too short! please and thank you!
Min 3:42, in this location, no got some resources important to build houses, like a reeds to build roofs houses. And in the lake, no got fish. I say that in 4 octuber 2024.
Unless they changed it, there should be straw on the east side, though its not a lot. TBF I moved to this location in the end game, so straw and fish weren't much of a need for me. Still my favorite spot!
I agree that it is a bit expensive to travel in the early game. That's why I usually work on making money and producing wooden vials as early as possible. You'll never have money problems if you do that!
@@SirJayWalker The last thing I want to do early game is stand around and craft wooden vials just so I can use the waggoneers. We all play different though and I am glad you don't mind making vials early game. I was probably one of the first to suggest waggoneers be implemented in the game and I was so happy when they were, but the cost really deflated my joy.
@@SirJayWalker Yes. I know the game fairly well. about 600 hours in it and played through 3 times. When I said "Stand around crafting" that included gathering the mats. They need to add a musician that you put in the bar, so when npc are close they dance and there humeur goes up too.
