Awesome stripers! I wish I had more of those near me. Those worms are wild looking! Looks like it was a great choice. Never seen those before. Awesome to end your day with some topwater action. Love a spook or popper bite 🙌
Thank you! Wish they were bigger, but beats the skunk. The pile worms are crazy looking, but the fish love em’ I love me some topwater. I’ll definitely be throwing the spook more often. Appreciate you watching 😎
Early morning fishing is my favorite! I have never fished with anchovies or pile worms! Yeah, I am good without using those pile worms 😂! At least you got some bites early on to start the day! Topwater action is always fun! Thanks for sharing and tight lines!!!
It’s the best time! I do love an evening bite as well. They both work great 👍🏻 Yeah, I don’t blame you. The pile worms are gnarly. Topwater is so much fun. I’d love to catch a big one on the spook. Appreciate you tuning in. Thank you 😊 🎣
I was at Brannan Island State Park the very same day going for striper! Buddy of mine lost a great one on a swimbait. I couldn't buy a bite. Nice job! No keepers > no fish!
Any top water bite is exciting! Those worms are a bit creepy, and it's good to see anchovies on a hook, and not on a pizza, Lol. I really hope you can get on a charter, and catch many keeper Stripers!
One way we used to rig worms was what we called a striper cocktail. Filet one side of the anchovy and leave the head and spine intact. The piece with the head and spine lay the pile worm along the side the filet was removed from. Wrap that together and thread the hook through the spine and the worm so it stays together.
Always a good time out fishing. People keep saying the fall striper run is starting soon, so definitely try to get out there if you can. Corgi cam for the win 🐶 Thank you for watching!
Always exciting seeing them coming up on the surface. Those worms 😮 Yeah, definitely looks like something from stranger things 😂. That was quick action!!! They definitely work! Dog can through the water!! Love Winters bandana 😉 Striper on the spook 💪🏻 Great video! Looking forward to that keeper Striper!!! Keep grinding 👊

I hope you get on that charter and have an awesome fishing element to your birthday. Pile worms are great bait. I used to use them in SF Bay, surf fishing from the beach in San Diego when I lived there, Princeton Harbor in Half Moon Bay as a kid, just about everywhere I used to fish in salt water throughout my life. Not a fan of the biting factor though! I miss striper fishing. Thanks for bringing the action to me.

Those pile worms are vicious... have seen them for sale on saltwater peers in NC in the past. You caught a few nice little stripers... sometimes the big ones don't bite. Beautiful landscape in the delta there. I looked it up on Google Maps.... didn't realize the delta/river goes all the way to Stockton. So can a person take a boat from Sacramento down the river all the way out to the Pacific? Cool video.. Happy early birthday... Mine is November 2nd.. Great fishing Fin.
They really are. Thats why I remove their heads before putting them on the hook. I’m glad I caught a few, but boy am I ever ready to catch a mondo. So pretty out there. I’m not a 💯 % sure, but it might be possible. Thank you 😊 In case I don’t remember, Happy Birthday to you as well. Appreciate you watching.

Another great video! I’m on the same mission to catch my first halibut from shore… tried on and off for a few years, but usually rockfish… gave the last drop shot with a fluke on it to someone who never caught one… then dude and his daughter caught a keeper with it…. Grrr… good luck, tight lines! 🤙🏻
Great vid, those look like Blood worms. I have used shrimp in the past and Stripers seem to like them. Well at least hear on the east coast.. We have also used Got-Cha plugs, seem to work great also.. Great vid and tight lines!
Thank you. They are pile worms, but maybe they use the names interchangeably (bloodworms). I have heard shrimp work really well. Never heard of a got-cha plug 🤔 Thank you so much for watching. Fish on! 💪🏻
Great video! Its awesome you were able to catch more Striper, and the topwater portion was fun, thats definitely my favorite way to catch fish. Now you gotta go throw a whopper plopper at them! lol. I'd love to see how they would hit like a 130 size whopper plopper in the Perch or Bone colors. Maybe even something like the Powder color cause they might think its a small striper and the bigger ones could target it.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Topwater really is the best. Gets your heart racing when they blowup 💥 I have a bone and loon colored one in my tackle box. Maybe I’ll give them a try. The loon color has been great for LMB. Thats a good idea with the powder color.
That Lews reel has the infamous knock I’ve heard on tons of them! It’s not good.. if you want a nice reel that’s not too pricy get you a Diawa Fuego. I have 2 fuego’s and they are hands down my favorite every day reels. The Diawa Regal LT is another awesome reel but you get a lot more with the Fuego.
@@girlfinfishing I work at a sporting goods store and we get TONS of these Lews combos back due to knock and failure. If you get a subscription to Omnia Pro they have the first gen Diawa Fuego spinning reels for 100 and they have the new 2024 Fuego for 109. With Omnia you get 10% back in pro points and free 2 days shipping. Nick over there is awesome to deal with. You will not be disappointed in the Fuego reels they are super tough and buttery smooth. I have my Fuego on the Tatula Elite rods which are also very nice rods. You’re welcome for the info and heads up! I’m getting ready to hit the creek with my son.. we have been a mean jerkbait bite here lately
@@girlfinfishing was the windmills turning. The only tip I can probably suggest is replacing the o rings and treble hooks on the lures. Stock ones are usually terrible and they end up bending
Dude you are killer love this channel. But I don't beileve you can catch founders or sand dabs around Sherman island or even pittsburg 😂 that made me giggle
@@girlfinfishing I think when ypu get a little closer to the bay maybe but I could totally be wrong. I generally target bass and don't do a whole lot of bait fishing unless im in the bay. But that would be super cool to see!
I heard mudsuckers work great. Maybe just a tough bite that day. The fall run should be happening soon. I love me some fresh springs rolls, so I’d like to try that 😋 🐟 🍽️ Thanks for watching!
@girlfinfishing yes pretty tough that's why they call it fishing lol but yea grill the fish put it in a spring roll oh the best lol gotta try it with the right sauce not that peanut butter one lol
I fish around Sherman. The park @ The end it’s a few dollars to park. Take the dog on a walk down the trails that lead to the water 💦 your dog will luv the beaches… the fish N can be very good too.
I’ll have to check the park out next time. Sounds like something Winter would enjoy. She loves to swim. Thank you for the suggestion, and I appreciate you watching 😊
Last time I was succesful striper fishing I used a scrounger head jig with a fluke trailer but that was on a boat going down the river. I almost stopped by Knights Landing yesterday as I passed it back from a trout fishing camp trip but the trout rods are not the best for striper ha ha Looks like you did pretty well despite catching smaller ones!
People keep mentioning flukes. Might have to give it a try. You should have stopped. I hear knights landing has been on 🔥 I think the trout rods can handle a striper. The size I keep catching anyway 🤦♀️ I tried my best. The big one is coming 💪🏻
Those worms kind of look like what we call blood worms. How big do stripers have to be to keep in CA? Keep trying the spook. When a 20" or bigger striper hits it, it is sooooo much fun. I've caught stripers on a spook & on a buzzbaits with a paddle tail on it. Top water fishing is definitely my favorite
Idk if they are the same thing or not. 🤔 They have to be 18in here in California. I plan on throwing more topwater. Even the dinks were fun, but I can only imagine the fight when it’s a 20+ incher. I’ll have to try the buzz bait with the paddle tail. Topwater is the best!! Thank you for tuning in. 😎
Someone else said they have caught starry flounder. What do you use to catch them? I figured the Halibut wouldn’t be that close inland. Appreciate you tuning in 😊
I’ll try some blood worms next time, and I thread them on. I did notice the way I baited the hooks the fish would just steal it. Appreciate the tip, thank you. 😊
That small striper had a large appetite and the action don’t stop thanks for sharing your video

Grrr… good luck, tight lines! 🤙🏻
Glad you enjoyed it. Halibut, the best tasting fish IMO. Good karma coming your way for give up your last fluke. I hope you catch one soon. 💪🏻 🎣
I’ve got starry flounders at Sherman before.
Oh yeah, a couple of people have mentioned catching them out there. I’d love to try one 🍽️ 🐟
That looked like loads of fun. Do you have hybrids or wipers there? Some of those the stripes were misaligned so bad they looked like wipers.
So much fun! No, I wish. They are just striped bass. There stripes do have some crazy patterns. Thanks for tuning in 😊
Nice action good job
Thank you 🎣 😊
Great video. Would recommend using a 3oz weight With a 5/0 bait hook with fresh shad.
Thank you 😊
I can definitely give that a try. Anything to catch a big one. Appreciate the tip.
@@girlfinfishing fresh shad, live bluegill or live mud sucker to catch the big one
If you're looking for Bait, try Gotcha Bait &Tackle in Antioch. They do carry live bait (not cheap). It is near HWY 160.
I’ll check them out next time I’m out that way. Thank you. 😊
Fire vid🫡
Thank you. Appreciate you watching 😊
You are getting the numbers. The giants will eventually come.
Appreciate the encouragement.
Fish on! 🎣 💪🏻
We call those diaper Stripers! Still fun to catch. Wait until you catch a 20 pounder on a topwater!
Yeah, I found the nursery of diaper stripers. They are fun, but that 20 pounder on a topwater would be insane! 🤞🏻 🎣
Nice, pile worms always get em, went out yesterday and pile worms were sold out everywhere… it’s hot rn!
Ty! Yeah, the fish go crazy over them 🪱
I just wish they weren’t so pricey. If you are looking for some try ghost fish bait & tackle.
Never heard of a got-cha plug 🤔
Thank you so much for watching. Fish on! 💪🏻
@@girlfinfishing Maybe so, like fish. Some have many names lol. Yes look into it, maybe try that on your next trip..
Gets your heart racing when they blowup 💥
I have a bone and loon colored one in my tackle box.
I’ve always been curious about the Diawa reels, and I do need to upgrade. I’ll have to check them out. Appreciate the suggestion. Fish on 🎣 💪🏻
@@girlfinfishing I work at a sporting goods store and we get TONS of these Lews combos back due to knock and failure.
The time i went there the winds where crazy
Oh yeah! It gets crazy windy out there. I think people even go out there to wind surf.
@@girlfinfishing was the windmills turning. The only tip I can probably suggest is replacing the o rings and treble hooks on the lures. Stock ones are usually terrible and they end up bending
Pile worms are cool but blood worms are my favorite. Idk if there’s really a difference but bloodworms seem to keep me more lucky lol.
I’ll have to give the blood worms a try. Anything to land a keeper. Fish on 🎣 💪🏻
Dude you are killer love this channel. But I don't beileve you can catch founders or sand dabs around Sherman island or even pittsburg 😂 that made me giggle
Glad you are enjoying it 🎣
A couple people have mentioned catching starry flounders, but idk 🤷♀️
@@girlfinfishing I think when ypu get a little closer to the bay maybe but I could totally be wrong. I generally target bass and don't do a whole lot of bait fishing unless im in the bay. But that would be super cool to see!
Looks like fun! Just need to land a keeper now. We should fish together sometime.😎😉
Such a good time, minus the mosquitoes 🦟
We definitely should! We both need to land a keeper. 💪🏻
At least the stripers liked the creepy worms. I think Winter needs a net. He really wants to get involved.
They sure do!
If only she had thumbs 😝 🐶
She’s always ready to help me land some fish.
I've caught a few keeper Striper, but I have never actually eaten one. Always a little skeptical about eating something out of the Delta 😂
Yeah, it is a little sketch. I’ll be cooking them a little extra just to be safe. I’m hoping to catch a keeper soon. 💪🏻
I just went there like a couple weeks ago but I was unprepared lol just had mudsuckers....lol don't make fish tacos make grilled fish spring rolls lol
I heard mudsuckers work great. Maybe just a tough bite that day. The fall run should be happening soon. I love me some fresh springs rolls, so I’d like to try that 😋 🐟 🍽️
Thanks for watching!
I hear knights landing has been on 🔥
I think the trout rods can handle a striper. The size I keep catching anyway 🤦♀️
I tried my best.
They have to be 18in here in California. I plan on throwing more topwater. Even the dinks were fun, but I can only imagine the fight when it’s a 20+ incher. I’ll have to try the buzz bait with the paddle tail. Topwater is the best!! Thank you for tuning in. 😎
Good luck on going for your keeper. Make sure to send me a pic.
Thank you Steve! I definitely will 😊 🎣
@@girlfinfishing Good Luck.
Starry flounder is what I usually catch there. Never seen a halibut that high up in the system
Someone else said they have caught starry flounder. What do you use to catch them? I figured the Halibut wouldn’t be that close inland. Appreciate you tuning in 😊
@@girlfinfishing grass shrimp
Try a longer J hook and thread the blood/pile worm on the hook.
I’ll try some blood worms next time, and I thread them on. I did notice the way I baited the hooks the fish would just steal it. Appreciate the tip, thank you. 😊
That little one is about the size of the largemouth I am catching at Berryessa lately lol
That was such a tiny striper. I’m sure you’ll start getting into the big girls as the fall bite starts to heat up. Fish on! 🎣
are they stripper bass ? they looks bit different when they still young, nice video
Yes! Just little dinks. Thank you. Appreciate you watching 😊
"they are getting smaller...." lol
They were 😝
Next time I’m catching a biggin’
Thank you for watching.
@girlfinfishing should be good fishing at sherman once this weather cools off! Tight lines
