Today Im sharing with you all the process of turning my formal dining room into my craft room. Since we already have a dedicated office space, I kept it simple because it's still a dining room.
Everything came from Ikea.

Great job…if you add sliding shelves to your Billy bookcases you can leave your cricut machines in place. Just slide it forward when you’re ready to use and then push it back when you’re done. I’m so glad I did it!
1st time coming across your video. I love the remodel of your new crafting space. That ceiling would have drove me mad! I don't blame you for removing it. What a difference! So bright and pretty. I hope that you share the continuation video of the completed look or finishing the changes. Either way it's a wonderful space.

So fresh, so chic, gorgeous! and I agree with you 100% I’m cutting out a hole for the electrical outlet for more than one reason… Sometimes I just want power inside that Billy. Charging stuff. Adding a little decorative light. Plus, if you save the cut out you can always restore the back of the cabinet with a little duct tape on the back and some caulk...Caulk, scrape, paint the backing a lovely neutral or color or something close to the original surface.
This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I wish you were here to help me create my dream craft room to look like yours! This was my inspiration! You have a fantastic eye for layout and look of quality.

Omg 😱 I just bought cabinets from ikea this past weekend. Getting them this coming Monday. My space is small so with paper and pencil in hand and of course tape measure I was able to things. I can’t wait. I got a large Billy and one small one with doors. I got a few of besta with doors and two Kallax I fell in love with two smaller cabinets with doors well you know how it is to shop at IKEA lol 😂 I want one of each. Loving your layout. And yes that ceiling needed to go. I’m hoping that with all my measuring things will fit of and the small desk called Alex. I do have your Apple 🍎 Computer also girl I can talk forever.

Great craft room! I totally agree, do what you have to with what you have, make it your own. When you sat on the floor to push furniture... I laughed cause I do that all the time! TFS!
You are impressive ! I managed to get an assembled luathirp bookcase at ikea and thanked my lucky stars now waiting to get a second one I’ll have to assemble plus a couple of other pieces … your room looks AWESOME ! And yes that ceiling would have driven me to insanity ! Thank you !

Hi Pam, Great job!! I use my dining area as my art & craft room, no where as big as yours, but I do my art as a hobby.....I love the section about the billy bookcase I had to cut a hole in mine too... for a light switch because my space is only 8X8' & there was only 1 space for it, I got the narrow bookcase no room for the bigger one, also had to anchor it to the wall, they don't stand too well on their own, But I wish I ask my friend for help anchoring it cause like you said Ikea has some nice stuff & that billy is heavy!!! I hurt my back putting up. going to look for your other video as well.

I used Billy & Kallax in my itty bitty craft room. They look great & store a LOT. Saved money that I can spend on fabric or vinyl 😁Your room is looking very nice!

This looks great...I was never a fan of IKEA stuff but I am liking how this looks. I would have kept that wood flooring and used it on the floor vs keeping the carpet. I find that items don't sit well on carpet and carpet gets dirty so quickly in craft rooms.
I think you’re smart to put doors on your paper cabinets, so the sun doesn’t bleach your paper. 😊
Hi there! I love this set I own a spa and used these drawers I pushed the apart and set a wood counter top across the top so I can set a lift chair/stool under it. Great Job! I wanted to send a picture just don’t know how

Get it! Get it!! Yes, I absolutely love it....I also do events and I have a craft room that isn't in my home which is a bummer but I am still grateful to have a space to be creative. I keep saying that I need to give that room an overhaul.. made plans to get it done but you definitely have me inspired and I will be ordering some IKEA Billy bookcases. Can't wait to see the room reveal. That is also the room that I store my balloons and my fresh floral supplies so I have to be creative. Happy that you are back Pam!
Thank you so much. I try not to do balloons if I have a big event that’s 30 people or more. And I hire someone for floral I don’t mess with it. I’ve learned to take things off my plate so I’m not stressed and just charge accordingly. The bookcases come in handy for stuff I want to hide and stuff I want displayed.
@@PamLashawn that's so smart but I guess the perfectionist in me just likes things being a certain way and I tend to try doing as much as possible but I need to learn to let go so that I can ease myself more cause girl!!

Can’t wait to see it finished and to see your laser cutter. Will it have to have an exhaust to the exterior of the house? I really love the look of the two kallax shelves on either side of the dressers? I am getting ready to completely redo my room with new floors and furniture. Would love to see any tips on how you organize inside the dressers. Great job!
New craft room makeover should be fun! I’m still thinking on the floors. Decisions……I am trying to design how I’m going to organize the now. The drawers are deep so I’m trying to figure out a way to organize them that maximizes the space.

The room is looking good! Haha, definitely a proud moment for you, had you doing a lil dance. I'm wondering what made the previous owners put that wood up there also🤔 but it doesn't even matter! You've got it taken care of.

It's so much wood from sealing you can feel all room with it ...post it on your local frre and exchange group somebody can reuse it for other projects. I do this every time when I move or destash.

The people ragging on IKEA must have only been buying the cheap stuff or didn’t put it together correctly. I’ve found that for every type of furniture Ikea caters to various budgets. The cheapest stuff is flimsy and will fall apart, the higher priced stuff is solid. That’s why they have several couches (and everything else) that look similar at wildly different prices. Most of our furniture is IKEA and we’ve had most of it for almost 20 years and through 5 moves, one was long-distance. The stuff we’ve had to replace lasted about 15 years (just before the pandemic). Edit: I didn’t check to see how old this video was before commenting, sorry about that. It popped up on my feed of usually recent videos.

I love a lot of their stuff. First of all ikea is a great way to decorate your home if someone does not have a big budget. And it may be inexpensive but it’s nice stuff.
