Good morning Amy! I actually thought of you a few times this morning. First it was before I made my coffee. I said to myself, water before coffee. Then during breakfast I was about to slide my laptop in front of me so I could see it while I ate breakfast. I stopped myself and said to myself, I should be mindful of my meal, there will be time for that later. Both things made me think of you. Way back about 20 years ago I had a doctor who was the best! He is the standard to which I have judged doctors ever since. None have measured up. What I remember most about him is he would sit me down and ask what was going on in my life. AND spend a good amount of time listening. What he said that impacted me strongly was he very seriously told me, "DO NOT drink soda. It is chemically polluted water". That is a direct quote, I remember his words clearly. No BS, he was serious.
I love to hear that you’re rocking those mindful habits-water before coffee! Hydration to start is so excellent. And putting the screens away at meals, changes the dynamic entirely. I'm so thrilled to hear you have made these changes! It’s the little things that really add up! Your doctor sounds like a legend-'chemically polluted water' is a pretty unforgettable quote. Thanks for sharing that-it gave me a little chuckle but also a little nod of agreement.😊
I have felt much better since I started the Mediterranean way of living. The food is so delicious and not complicated. The harder part is the social side of things. New York is a fast paced state. Slowing down and relaxing is especially hard for me while around those I know. They are... different from me. Anyway. Stay warm Amy and family!
The Mediterranean lifestyle is such a win-delicious, simple, and so good for you. I totally hear you on the social side, though. Slowing down can feel impossible in social settings, but even a few small moments to breathe and reset can go a long way. Stay warm and thanks so much for sharing your journey!
I've made the Greek yogurt for sour cream swap. At first it was a little strange because I was so familiar with sour cream, but now I don't think I could ever go back. Greek yogurt is just so delicious.
Yes! That’s such a great swap. I don’t think I could go back either-it’s creamy, tangy, and so versatile. Plus the extra protein hit! Love hearing you’re enjoying it!
