Mordekaiser is kinda motivational in a weird way. He was a man who realized he spent his whole life serving gods who didn’t exist or simply didn’t care about him. He ends up in a void where dead souls fall to oblivion and comes to terms with his situation. Most would just fall to despair or go mad but Mordekaiser just decided to become a god himself through will power and strength. The Iron Chad.

He's pretty freaking powerful, though, probably at the level of a Runeterra God or even more. His eternal army and the Endless Oblivion in the Death Realm might actually be a fair match against the Void's endless horrors. Idk, maybe not, but it does have a chance.
Though he certainly could handle a whole bunch of Voidborn, would he want to? I mean, the Voidborn are supposed to be constructs made to usher in total oblivion across Runeterra, so im pretty sure they don't even have what can be classified as a "soul", rendering them useless to Morde.
@@AurelionSass Actually, now that I think about it....doesn't that help him build his kingdom faster?....buuuut, it does still have flaws, like, if he wanted to become stronger, he would need more souls, so it's like a farm, you need to pick just enough harvest to stock while leaving the young to grow into more crops. If the Voidborn would actually invade and succeed, his conquest would be successful, but his strength wouldn't grow anymore.

Mordekaiser wasn't actually named Mordekaiser at first, he was an ancient warrior in Valoran named Sahn-Uzal. Sahn-Uzal was a brutal warlord who conquered all his enemies while being led by a dark religion. Sahn-Uzal's religion was that, basically, if you conquer and kill enough, then you go to the Hall of Bones, to dine with the gods. When Sahn-Uzal died, he saw no Hall of Bones, he didn't see an entrance or anything, just a barren wasteland with souls fading away. While Sahn-Uzal was in the wasteland, he heard whispers of words he couldn't make out, he would later understand the language and it's name, _Ochnun_ (Oak-noon) the language of the dead. Sahn-Uzal was infuriated when he realized that his religion was fake, he saw no Hall of Bones, so instead he decided to forge his own. Sahn-Uzal refused to fade like all the other souls and he told people from beyond the veil about his power and what he did in life. Mages bound his soul back to his armor and revived him, they would soon regret it. After Sahn-Uzal killed the mages, he grabbed a book, the Tome of Spirits, and turned the mages souls into Nightfall, his powerful mace. As the mages died, though, they screamed his name to bind him, it didn't work, he was no longer Sahn-Uzal, but he was now Mordekaiser (Sahn-Uzal in Ochnun). Mordekaiser went to conquer the world, he killed countless amounts of people, massacre never seen before in the history of Runeterra. Mordekaiser built the Immortal Bastion, which today is the capital of Noxus, no one truly knows what Mordekaiser built it for, some saw it as a seat of power, others came to know the dark powers of it. The Noxii tribes made a rare alliance with each other and finally killed Mordekaiser from within his inner circle. Mordekaiser was sent back to the Realm of Death, or as he now called it: _Mitna Rachnun_ which is Ochnun for 'Mordekaiser's Afterworld'. he saw the souls trapped there, all of those who died during his reign were there, with dark powers he made it so that all souls who came into his Afterworld from now on would never fade. The weak souls were made into building blocks for his kingdom, the strong however, were made into his eternal army. Mordekaiser has since been forgotten, now that Noxus has risen, he name is still whispered in fear from those who study the history of Runeterra, but Mordekaiser will make them all remember one day.
*TL;DR:* Mordekaiser was an ancient warlord in Valoran until he died. In death he saw the place his religion spoke of wasn't real. Mages bind his spirit to armor and he starts to conquer the world. Mordekaiser is killed through a betrayal in his inner circle and from the alliance of Noxii tribes. Mordekaiser is finding ways to return to the world and conquer it again after starting his own empire in the Realm of Death.
fun facts
1. As you probably could have guessed the Noxii tribes made up the empire of Noxus years after Mordekaiser's fall
2. Leblanc actually played a role of Mordekaiser's second death.
3. When Mordekaiser ults you in game, he actually sends you to the Death Realm temporarily, people call this place the Shadow Realm, but that's incorrect because Nocturne rules the Shadow Realm from our knowledge
4. Mordekaiser uses the Black Mist from the Shadow Isles to return to the Runeterra temporarily since the Black Mist is the closest thing to a physical embodiment of death besides Kindred.
5. The Hall of Bones is basically Runeterra's Valhalla

If I recall Mord can turn others and embue the black magic/mist from the isles from himself as well infecting other places ( like the keep in the outskirts of demacia/hawkthorn) So even if the shadow isles fall I feel like Mord is setting up for something huge o-o
@@XonixDerps his plan is to conquer the entirety of Runeterra, I don't exactly know if he can manipulate the mist to his will though, if he can that'd be really cool though
@@jsc1jake512 I think they confirmed he can o: I'll need to re read but one of the writers said it's easy for him since the deathrealm is a more advanced version of the shadow isles (mord considers it a cheap intimidation in the new lore)
I just remembered another fun fact that I wanted to add: Veigar was also imprisoned by Mordekaiser during his second reign, and although he didn't really do anything with Veigar, the isolation made him crazy, so now he just runs around killing people, and although he doesn't know it, this was Mordekaiser's plan because the more people he kills the more that are sent to his realm.

@@VladDascaliuc Thanks for feedback! I personally just thought that this was better than a completely still jpeg picture, which was the only other option since Riot doesn't have any splash art for Morde. But will keep that in mind for the future

Mordekaiser met Kindred when he first died and still refused to fade, so kindred couldn't finish him and now he is beyond her powers or kindred didn't appear before him and that means she is powerless against those that don't believe in kindred and that means she is one of the weakest champions lorewise, as only a few villages in Freljord believe in Kindred
