    I rewatched this episode today so I could see Jackie Zeman in her element- so terribly saddened at the news of her passing. Thank you, Maurice, for such a fun, informative interview.

      I had not seen this two-part episode and it was so much fun to hear about old G.H. shows that I watched back in the day. This has been a sad year with Jackie Zeman passing, the loss of Billy Miller and the shock of the death of Tyler Christopher (Nickolas), all great actors. State of Mind has filmed moments in time and given us a peak into the lives of Jackie and Tyler for which I am grateful. Like Jackie I’ve never used alcohol or drugs but as with Tyler who said he died three times due to alcohol, I lost a beloved step-son at age 52 to cirrhosis of the liver and a fall in his bathroom. He was the sweetest man and so good to his father but he carefully hid the extent of his addiction when he was with us. Explaining what his addiction to alcohol was doing to his life was Tyler Christopher’s gift to anyone who does not understand alcoholism. I’ll never forget that interview especially because I watched it for the first time just weeks before Tyler passed away.

    This was truly a gift having Jackie and Kin on your show? Did you and Kin know she had Cancer? It still is such a shock for me that she's gone. However she said she talkes to her angels. I believe she's still here, with her loved ones and friends, watching over all of you.😪❤

    Learned so much about these 2 actors. Enjoyed it so much. The 2nd round of GH heyday was the 80's with the WSB and the actors Tristan Rogers, Finola Hughes, Jack & Kristina Wagner, Brad Maule, etc. This was such a magical time and would love some insight from any of them also as what life was like at GH back in the day. Bless Jack & Kristina Wagner for their loss.

    My father, who was also an actor, was bi-polar and credited lithium for saving his life. He was diagnosed in the early 80s when bi polar was still not a “popular” mental illness but he was very transparent. He would be so proud to see successful actors like you Maurice using this platform to shut down the stigmas and really have the good conversations! Love this ❤❤

    It was so cute watching Maurice get excited, just like the rest of us, over the prospect of hearing some juicy, behind-the-scenes gossip from the glory days of General Hospital. I think Kin was holding back. I heard he had a revolving door of girls going in and out of his dressing room. I also loved how Kin was asked if he had gotten together with Emma or Demi Moore. Yes, Maurice asks the tough questions. That's why we're here. lol Love it!

  • @Nightmarigny
    @Nightmarigny 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I think it's important/valuable when Kin talks about the "beef" with Sonny over Karen, and the "beef" with Luke for "stealing his wife," etc. That's really just character consistency--and it's largely missing from the show now. So many instances where I'm like, "wait--are these characters okay with each other now?" Like Carly being an "honorary Quartermaine," which is hogwash, or Carly getting along with Liz and Alexis... things like that damage the characters and make them seem unfamiliar. With Scott as a character, we usually feel those biases and allegiances and opinions, and so his character always feels on the right track. All of the characters need that.

    This interview was my favorite so far. I love them all because I am a GH fanatic. Been watching since 1978 after school at our friend’s house and we got hooked at age 8. Lol My parents moved us a lot and GH was my constant and it gets me through all the rough patches I’ve had in my life. I’m sad Jackie passed. That’s why I searched and found this. I’m sad a family member has passed. I hoped to meet her some day. I always wanted to be on the show but as a brown kid… So happy you have Latin blood Maurice. Loved you and “Brenda” you better be just as mad at Michael, Carly etc when you find out they tried to send you to jail. Lol

    Oh my God. All I can say is Wow. This definitely needed a part two... and even more.
    Have these two legends with other people; luke, laura, Monica, Tracy, etc. Wow, the stories to be told, I'd love to hear them. You've got to be a certain age to remember the story line of Laura's mother Lesley (the sweetheart of GH at the time) and her husband Rick having an affair with MONICA Quartermaine. We HATED Monica. To this day, I don't like Monica... and that was over 40 years or so ago lol. Us old-heads don't forget. And we LOVED to hate Tracy. Something about Tracy - we loved to see her act. To see that the GH producers still keep these characters on board is very much appreciated. Please let them know this. Mr. Mo.

    I've been watching GH since I was in grade school since 77 and absolutely adored Bobbie Spencer, Laura Webber, Luke Spencer, Scotty Baldwin Leslie and Rick the old CH from the late 70's and early to mid 80's and yes I liked Sonny ☺️ Thank you for this Maurice as the passing of Jackie and Tyler 🙏🏼🌹🕊️❤❤

    My earliest memories of GH are from when Scotty and Laura were still married, not really being a fan yet but becoming familiar with the main characters since my mom always had it on when I got home from school. I never understood the Luke and Laura thing at all; Scotty was obviously so much cuter. And still is, wow are these two even aging? Kin and Jackie both look great, and had some interesting tales to tell -- it'd be interesting to watch one of those old filmed live episodes and see how it holds up. I remember the fuss about Elizabeth Taylor doing GH, and her son Michael Wilding Jr. was on Guiding Light in the eighties too. (And damn, was he good looking, you could definitely see he was her son.) And Rick Springfield -- I can still clearly remember the first time I heard Jessie's Girl come on the radio. I was in the car coming home from somewhere with my parents (the best songs always come on when you're just getting to your destination; it seems to be one of Murphy's Laws) and I loved it, immediately. But my dad of course wasn't going to waste gas letting the car run once we pulled into the garage just so I could finish listening to the song, so I had to pelt into the house and up the stairs and scramble to find the right station on the radio that my mom kept in the bathroom to listen to while she put on her make-up every day, and did manage to hear the end of it. It still holds up as a great song imo. I'm feeling really nostalgic for the days when there were a dozen soaps on the air, and you had to make some hard choices about which ones to watch, even once we got a VCR. So many good-looking, talented actors...ah, good times.

    You guys are all so strong! Such an incredible interview! You guys give a face and voice to mental illness. We all tend to think mental illness looks a certain way, but it is nice that you can still thrive and live a fulfilling life. You are not your illness! There is always help and hope! SOM empowers us all to do better and be better. We need to realize just because someone looks good on the outside doesn't mean they are good on the inside. Terrific job! I'm proud to be apart of the State of Mind Community/Family. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Benard and all your guest for sharing your story. We all get a little stronger because we are not alone.
