If it wasn't for Bas Rutten people especially MMA fighters, boxers and kickboxers would look down upon the Palm Strikes (they still do btw) as he is probably the only person to step up and use it in actual full bare knuckle fight context. Even having soo much evidence of its effectiveness boxers will still choose to punch bare knuckle and break their hands than throw palm strikes in bare knuckle boxing matches which is beyond hilarious. Bas Rutten till this day keeps on saying that "I have been telling the effectiveness, impact and power that can be generated through palm strike but nobody seems to care to implement or follow that in a fight". There is this extreme rigidity regarding technique in the modern martial arts community which not only sucks but has hindered the growth and creativity elements of the sport.

Professor Mulder LOVE the fact you ALWAYS stress that physical action is only to be taken to allow one to escape a potentially dangerous situation if the opportunity presents itself, OTHERWISE, you have to do what you have to do to survive !!! The "Palm Strike" is one of my FAVORITE defense tools of choice! Love the use of it in various positions and your "Adrenal Stress" created simulations by way of having the students executing their strikes after doing push ups!!! RIGHT ON RIGHT ON!!! of the SD guys here. One
    glaring issue though, is
that 50% or more of the

    going to come in long
    before you're through with
    the beat-down of the first

    on the circumstances, all at
    once. But definitely learn this

@@schoolofselfprotection Thanks. Such a video or set of videos would be very beneficials to all I think. Anatomical areas on the body have weak point throughout. Proper blows with the palm area diminishes damage to the hands and can still be lethal enough to knock a person off their aggressive agenda towards the person defending him/herself, but not so lethal that it will put a person in jail. Different times in a "civilized" society demand different measures to match the current laws. Thanks in advance. Looking forward to new video demonstrations.

I have taken many martial arts over my 71 years but I find nowadays that a lot of schools are watered down and ineffective, like the "Paul Mitchell" tournaments where they focus on gymnastics instead of hardcore training. Your longest lead hand weapon is the biu gee or eye jab but covers the smallest surface area. Then a closed fist, which is shorter, but covers more surface. Finally, the palm strike which is the shortest of the 3, but covers the most area AND defends against breaking your own hand. 🙏

This was verry good, sinds I have seen Bas Rutten long ago I train palm strkes too. I train for myselve 5 tims a weak heavy bag. Mostly for fitness and for if I need it for emergendsy.
My palmstrikes on the heavybag has way more impact than a punch . I see the bag swings way more than a fullpower punch. Maybe becouse my strike drives more bodyweight behind it. And maybe I eliminate the wrist flexability.
My faforit combo. Lef fist / right fist ( not full power no gloves) right elbow left hook palmstrike, finish right palmstrike full power.
I realy like your vids man.
The weak point for the most people is to pull the trigger. Aspecialy if ther is a lot talking and yelling before the fight.
In situation that the opponent walk slowley to you, should you warn him to ,keep distance ? If he dont , pull the trigger or not ? Its all mental.
Can you make a vid how to control and behave yourselve? How can you train yourselve mentally ?
A lot people will apriciate that. Even the strongest guy could loose or get hurt if he mentally fail at that moment. Some people get even freeze. And think later " i should have done this or that."
In your class your students learn how to deal with stress fight ( you are quite intimidatent ). Unfortently not all your viewers can be in your school.
Again thanks for your vids man !

Palm strikes can be very powerful but there is a caveat!! Imagine hitting him with a palm strike but he manages to block your strike and immediately grabs a finger or two then he’s got you!! Finger control can be very effective in putting down even much larger men!!!! You may think that the average street thug knows nothing of finger control but if they frequent a club at all, every bouncer has finger control on his repertoire of techniques so the average thug has probably witnessed their efficacy!!!!

Great video! My only question is about dealing with the second attacker. Seems likely he’ll be throwing a haymaker as he approaches (or going for a takedown if he’s the wrestling type). Shouldn’t the first priority be “protecting yourself at all times” as they say in boxing. A palm strike is a shorter weapon than a haymaker and he’s had time to position himself and aim, whereas you’re trying to hit a moving target that took you by surprise. Otherwise I love all the stuff on your channel.

Brutha, it's about interruption....you have to be able to adjust...you might turn to assess and not have time for a stop strike but hopefully have time to do the helmet defense straight into palm strikes or elbows or clinch. Keep it simple...this Guy is awesome! Only way to get confidence in it is set up with a couple of friends, safety equipment and run some drills. Most of my friends are too pansy!😂
