    Powerful. I used to do this with cold showers. Started small at 30 seconds then slowly built up to 3 minutes everyday. I used to discount small actions but it's the small ones that lead to great ones

    Great summary! Definitely saves time compared to reading the book. Nice to have someone give the main idea without all the "filler".

    Small goals, mini habits... without disturbing yourself

    I really like how you described this method of habits. I never really thought of starting small and building more resistance, instead I mostly just give up. Very nice, I need to do this more.

    • @2000Books
      @2000Books  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chloe Kryzanek Yeah - it really helps if you start small. Just pick one habit you want to develop over the next 30 days and then identify the smallest possible action you will take on a daily basis. It really helps :)

    This video just helped me to realise why I've failed every time I wanted to change something in my life! The changes were too big! I'll try the new method soon and hopefully I'll get results that are as successful as yours! Thank you for sharing, it was really useful! Also, the graphics were great to follow the content! Great job, keep it up! x

      +Khaoula Boumaaza Thank you very much! I would love to hear about your progress as you use this method. What is the one small thing you want to commit to doing?

    • @khaoulaboumaaza3821

      +2000 Books Probably start reading some of the books that I have to finish by new year. I think half an hour or 25 pages per day will be enough and probably by the end of the month I'll be done :) I will definitely tell you about it! x

    • @2000Books
      @2000Books  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Khaoula Boumaaza Sounds great! Is 30 min/25 pages the smallest possible action you can take? And will you be able to keep it up daily during the holidays? That is the KEY - sign up for something that you can and will do daily. No matter what! Looking forward to hearing about your success story :)

    A very informative video, I usually find myself having trouble keeping up with a schedule and making it habitual. Maybe I'm setting my daily goals a bit too high to keep my interest going to where I'll want to do it consistently. I'll experiment with smaller changes and work my way up.

    • @2000Books
      @2000Books  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Callestere Yeah - the key is momentum. You want to keep the momentum going because the momentum will generate interest for you. If you have daily goals too high and you miss them, you lose momentum. It's much better to start with small goals and do them daily no matter what.

    I really like how well this was explained; kind of figured this out when i was trying to exercise one summer but this put it into words. Is there a way to break these habits do you think? more information on this would be great.

    • @2000Books
      @2000Books  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Sophie Pittman The only way to break these habits is to fall off the daily wagon. Here is the key: Do less but stick to a daily schedule rather than do a lot more ... once in a while. What more information would you like?

    How long will it take before the mini habits start becoming something you automatically do?

    • @2000Books
      @2000Books  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Parker Lee As per research, it usually takes around 66 days for a new habit to stick. However, just make sure you do something EVERYDAY. That is the biggest key.
