I got a pack of three different sizes of cast iron skillets for like $40 bucks(6",8",10"). You can go down to a thrift store and happen upon a good old well made one for $5-10. $400 for a cast iron anything is absurd.
My 100 year old Wagner skillet hasn't worn out yet. It slides an egg like Teflon and gets better every time I use it. I regret buying a Yeti cooler. I have a Walmart cooler that works just as well at half the price.
And the only way the price will ever come down, is if NO one buys them. Let everyone sit in there stock room. Then the company will have no choice but drop the price too a respectable level.
I have a Field Company pan $145 and a Stargazer $165 that will cook anything that the yeti pan will cook and I can sleep soundly knowing that I saved $90 with 2 of some of the best pans out there.
I hate to bust your bubble but I bought a 12" Tramontina skillet at Ollie's for $8.49 It was normally $10. but I had a 15% off coupon. It cooks just as good as any other cast iron pan. You put it over heat, it gets hot, cook whatever you want, and it's pretty much non stick. I sleep easier knowing that I don't have hundreds of dollars tied up in cast iron pans. I do have a $25. 10.5" Lodge and it cooks as good as the $8.49 pan. I will buy Griswold and Finex at garage sales and flea markets, but strictly for resale.
The point of getting a cast iron skillet is you get the heft of a high end stainless steel pan for under $50. If I'm going to spend $400 on a skillet, I'm getting a great steel skillet.
Only thing extra I want on A Cast-iron pan, is for it to bee polished. I think that that makes it easier to use. And they are not expansive, only A little more then A normal one.
Seems Yeti is still going for the "sucker born every minute" crowd. Just like their overpriced 300 dollar coolers that work just as good as the 50 dollar coolers. Gotta love capitalism.
Utterly ridiculous. Think about this: when you go to any restaurant, from your local diner to the fanciest, they're using the least expensive cookware they can buy. You don't need hyper expensive cookware or tools to make great food, things like this pan are for posers that think more expensive means they're better than you. I have a set of Forschner knives that I've used for 30 years in kitchens, $30 to $50 per knife, that do the job just as well as the last set of Henckels I owned that were stolen. I use a Lodge at home, but I prefer ro use cheap cold rolled carbon steel pans just like I used in restaurant kitchens. Bottom line, I don't need hyper expensive cookware to utilize my skills or to boost my ego, that's for posers.
It's stupid and ridiculous. But YETI also sells stupid coolers that are in the hundreds of dollars lol. More power to them. I mean if people are going to spend their harder money on this stuff that's unbelievably overpriced, go for it I guess.
Utter nonsense. Princess auto had a whole kit for like 90$. It seasons well. What yuppie nonsense. And like you say lodge is great for a tenth of the price.

If they can sell a cast iron skillet for $400, you’re damn right it’s genius! Going price at a yard sale around here is $10.
Four hundred dollars? You can get two or three nice vintage Griswolds for that.
I just flat out, bar none, love lodge cast iron!!!!!

I will pass on that an keep my lodge
I hear that! Absolutely love lodge!!!!!
Butterpat Industries always had high quality luxury cookware
What's supposed to be luxurious about it?
That really seems excessive. I wonder what Butter Pat brings to the table with their $345 skillet.
I got no clue - iron is iron - unless I’m totally missing something

Who are they targeting with this

.. clearly not worth it, which makes you question the Value of Everything yeti makes .. 🤨🚫💵💸

Ah so butternpat is yeti. Haha cast iron is the easier steel to make (cheaper). So this is counter intuitive.
Future technology lol
🤓 ha!
That design is a complete copy of the butterpat edit sorry wrote this before you said butterpat lol
Nice cardboard 😅😅

is Yeti trying to be Le Creuset or Staub?
The craftsmanship that goes into the yeti skillet (made by butter pat) is on par with Le creuset or staub. You’re not just paying for the name.
Clearly you never also paid for a gym membership
Thanks! 😊
RIDICULOUS‼️
