    Very enjoyable video Andy. Especially loved how you shot the opening scene, very atmospheric. In fact, great photography throughout. Some gorgeous scenes of our green and pleasant land. I felt as if I was with you...still shivering! Overall, entertaining and inspiring.

    Great video, Andy! I for one, admire the shots you painstakingly film of you walking away or to the camera..... it must put so much more time into climb !
    Also, I can't figure out why you don't have more subscribers! Loving the walks and the camp videos, think that's a winner

    It's become very eroded, I remember 45 years ago or more the path was barely a sheep trod.
    Blencathra is always a good day out 👌 Thanks for sharing, ATB Alistair 👍

    Great video Andy as always! I’ve visited Blencathra twice but never via this route so it’s now firmly on my “to do” list! 😮 beautiful
    Views and that noisy wind reminds me of both Blencathra and Hellvellyn 😅 keep em comin’ 👍

    Great post Andy. Wainwright in the guides said "this route is positively the finest way to any mountain top in the district". It's probably my favourite route too. Fantastic views and a real sense of exposure without being too difficult. Looked a bit chilly to say the least!

      @AndrewBeavers  ปีที่แล้ว

      dont think you can argue with that it is a fine route up & one ill do again for sure..

    Nice one Andy. I’ve done that ridge a couple of times and combined it with the ascent of Sharp Edge. It’s good fun but definitely a slog to the summit of Blencathra. Great views down Middle Tongue, too. ATB bud 👍

    Blencathra is like the gatekeeper for the northern Lakes as you come down the A66 - you know you've arrived when you see it. We've done the Sharp edge/ Hall's Fell route both ways more than once - and backed out because of wind and rain! You've really captured the route well in this video. Thanks for sharing.

    • @AndrewBeavers
      @AndrewBeavers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ayy its the first fell you see coming down the a66 at that point you know youve hit the lakes.

    I attempted a camp up there one october a few years back. My sleeping mat failed and I had to get off the hill in the dark.
    Also that ring is a replacement to the one that was previously stolen. Ive spoken to the lad who took it up there with a group of people. Great video as always mate. ATB

    Interesting vid. Windy. Not sure I’d grade it grade 1 scramble? Crib Goch and Tower Ridge on Snowdon is a grade 1 scramble due to the sustained need to use 3 points of contact. That ridge looked a bit too broken to call it a scramble. Challenging walk I’d class it as?

  • @burrianaUK
    @burrianaUK ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good insight into the ridge, looking forward to doing it. Is that the Infinity Microlight jacket Andy? I got the same one before Christmas, bloody brilliant piece of kit :-)

    • @AndrewBeavers
      @AndrewBeavers  ปีที่แล้ว

      it is the infinity yes great jacket for popping on in the hills whilst having a brew stop etc..also whilst doing some light walking too.
