Hi Ally, Sharp Edge normally has quite a bit of footfall each day due to it being a popular route in the area. I would just recommend going with someone you know that is fine in exposed situations. That way they can offer you reassurance if and when it’s needed. The scramble along Sharp Edge is a lot shorter than the one along Striding Edge. So if you are ok with Striding then you may be ok with Sharp Edge. Hey Yasmin🙂 This one or Striding Edge possibly would be ok for your first edge experience. Both should only be undertaken in dry conditions. You certainly don’t want that to happen to you. Take super care and thank you for watching the video🙂
Definitely a tame ridge. Plenty more excellent scrambles around Snowdon and Tryfan to test people’s skills and head for heights. Even Striding Edge has no difficulties to talk of except possibly in winter if if gets snowed up.
It’s all down to what experience you’ve had before and obviously what your head is like with exposure. I’m sure some people would find it terrifying. As I said in the video I felt a bit let down by it but it’s still a lovely route. I will do it again sometime so I can check out the view from the top🙂
You've done some great films but do you realise how much you say the word "ok". I've told a few walkers, wildcampers, it's not all about the views etc in the lakes, as it's all been done and shown hundreds of times. It's come down to the presenter now, I might be nit picking but I picked up on it the first video I watched of yours. I subscribed because it was quality, just that ok thing became proper annoying.
Hey John thanks for watching my video. It’s not nit picking at all fella. It’s actually something I’ve picked up on myself already and it’s something I’m currently getting therapy for. I’ve been informed by my shrink that “same word affliction syndrome” is something often found in new content creators on TH-cam. He has reassured me that over time and once I’ve completed another eleven two hundred and ten pound an hour sessions with him I will be cured from the affliction. I’m sorry to hear that my SWAS has caused you so much anguish while watching my videos but all I can say is it’s been noticed and is currently something that is being worked on. Great video!! Did Sharp edge many years ago when I was backpacking, and came down it. Don't recommend doing that first time with weighty packframe like I did
Hey Michael thanks for watching the video, I’m so glad you liked it and it brought back fond memories🙂 It’s bad enough going down a normal route with a small backpack let alone something like Sharp Edge with a heavy pack like the one you had.!! Well done for getting down in one piece👏 Hope you travel a little more light weight nowadays. Thanks again for giving the video a watch it’s very much appreciated🙂
All the very best

Thank you! Yeah I'm low level atm, but who knows? May get back out there soon. Love the Lake District so much, and you're videos are great, so enjoyable. Thank you so much for the time and effort you obviously put into them😀😀😀⭐⭐⭐
@@michaelhallam6336 You’re more than welcome. I enjoy putting them together and they will give me something to look back on in later years and help me remember the moment. I’ll be uploading another Lake District video tomorrow hopefully so keep your eyes open for it. Hope you enjoy it and I hope you have a wonderful summer in the great outdoors🙂
Keep safe and well and thank you again🙂

Is it an good one to try for your first edge? I have a fear of heights but love mountain walking. Thinking of making this my first edge to try?
Hey Yasmin🙂 This one or Striding Edge possibly would be ok for your first edge experience. Both should only be undertaken in dry conditions. Stay away from Crib Goch in north wales until you have gained more experience and become more used to exposure. I’ve seen quite a few people who have suffered crag fast on Crib. You certainly don’t want that to happen to you. Take super care and thank you for watching the video🙂
@@FurrychalkbagOutdoors thanks for the advice and great vid
Yasmin Aabbouz No problem. Hope you get better weather than I did and you have an absolutely fantastic time. It is a nice little edge🙂
It's a 'gimmer'.
The name of the sheep.? Haha cheers for that.!! Every day is a learning day🙂
You've done some great films but do you realise how much you say the word "ok".
Again thank you so much for your comment and for watching my video it’s very much appreciated🙂
All the very best
