I lived and worked there from 2012 to 2015. I can say that life in that country is slow, but that place is nice and quiet. I had a lot of good experiences there. I miss that place so much.
The reason is that mugging is a big issue in Fiji especially Suva areas like theifs will just grab and run with your phone or any other valuable if you are not careful

Fiji is not actually a mini island in Oceania. The country has a total land area of around 18,000 sq. km - this is way bigger than most in Oceania. Outside Australia and New Zealand, I see Fiji as the other potential economic powerhouse in Oceania since they have every advantage against let's say Kiribati, Tuvalu, Marshall Islands, and even the two Samoas.
