  • Some details on the Ace Pro dive housing and information concerning underwater photography/videography. Man, I talk allot and I'm seriously due for a manicure lol I'm not used to this as I'm using writing reviews with static photos back in the days. I apologize if I talk too much, lots to cover. Can you tell I love tech? lol

    great review, you are spot on with the comment on gopro overheating. I snowboard and dive, and do other types of vides for my self, and yes, gopro cant not overheat, and its not a good thing. I had 5,7 and 9..now i have 10 11 and 12, and ace pro is better than all of them. same thing with insta360 i record a lot of fishing for hours with no issues. the last gopro that could do that is gopro 5. so to anyone thinking about which one to buy...go with ace pro

      Yah, it's sad really as they were pioneers of actioncams, they've gotten way too lazy. GP13 better be a miracle or they won't make it. Hanging on the coat tails of their loyal followers without addressing overdue issues won't last long. A chronic overheat issue with 3 generations of camera tells me it's a flawed design, yah, I get it, they have some slight advantages over quality but how useful is that when you're in the middle of shooting and the thing shuts down from heat, that's lost footage. I love how some are like if you use it outdoors in the wind, it won't overheat as quick... LOL that's funny.

      @@MiyagisRant it will, no matter the wind, and 10 was over cooling in the snow until the new battery😂. So it's just for some action not all hahahah. Gp13 should have a teleport to survive the market. I was all pro go pro before but the competition got in front. The problem is people are not real about this, they are just promoting a brand.

    Gesture might be a game changer taking pictures and videos back and forth under water

      Yah, I never thought of that lol Unfortunately mine is mounted on my BCD and faces away from me, I would have to my wife to wave at me underwater lol

    If anyone is interested I have started posting diving videos on my channel - be kind as I’m still learning to edit. The last 4 have been with my new AcePro whereas the previous few were with a GoPro Hero 11. The other notable change is that the AcePro is good enough in low light that I am not using any lights with it whereas my dives with the GoPro all include a modest level of additional lighting.

    Have you found any filters to attach while diving for color correction? Will you share a link for the facebook person who has been diving with this already? Thanks!

    • @MiyagisRant
      @MiyagisRant  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've had bad luck with red filters in the past and I won't use them again, lost a really important footage due to red filter I had on my GoPro, never again lol. Plus, with any color filter you lose quality. I rather do post edit for color if I need to and works better without losing quality. Yes, this person bought his I think the day it launched and has been diving with it. The DJI A4 was my first choice but I think the Ace Pro has a slight edge over detail and low light and I've been comparing underwater footage between this and the DJI, I think the colors are better on the Ace Pro. Here's his link, I'm in the Facebook dive group as him, that's how I found out... good luck, can't wait to get mine in the water but wont be til Feb 2024 :( www.youtube.com/@marklosentes7988

    Great review! I read somewhere that the housing lens cover is glass as opposed to plastic for other cameras housings. Is that true?

    • @MiyagisRant
      @MiyagisRant  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As far as I can tell I don't think it's glass on the dive housing, they usually aren't for a lot of reasons, with the amount of sports and impact, the thing would shatter. I tapped on it and it doesn't sound or feel like glass. I could be wrong, anyone?

    How are you, good evening, ask, do you know if there is a dome to use with the Instal360 Ace Pro? I have seen that Telesín sells but for GoPro

    is there something to attach wide angle lense like inon with baïonnetta? thanks

    • @MiyagisRant
      @MiyagisRant  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why would you need a wide angle lens, it has a pretty wide view feature unless you want wider than that, as far as I know there's nothing out for this camera but this camera just launched so I would bet we'll see a wider view ND filter for it soon.

    • @thomasgerard9572
      @thomasgerard9572 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Need a wide angle because underwater with a flat lense, the image is bad in each corner and you can t use it. Same problem with a go pro

    • @MiyagisRant
      @MiyagisRant  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thomasgerard9572 Unfortunately most of the time it's the dive housing that's causing that edge blur. I get this with my GoPro as well as my DJI's dive housing but it's 4K so I just crop in a little. I haven't seen a wide lens for this camera yet but it's relative new to the market. Most wide lens also cause fish eye effects, can't win either way lol

    Are you going to record an under water test? :)

    • @MiyagisRant
      @MiyagisRant  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yah, I go diving on the 18th but I'll do a water test before I go. Not a big deal, even if there is a slight leak in the housing the camera is still waterproof and pressure won't matter if the leak is small enough in the housing, I had this happen to my DJI at a 100 feet dive, the camera was fine even with a small leak in the housing.

      Oh geez, don't tell me that, where is it coming in? I better do a water test on mine.
