  • This past fall, the Colorado Buffaloes were the most hyped up team in college football and after a hot start, the hype got out of control. Sadly, for Coach Prime it all fell apart and the Buffs went from 3-0 to a 4-8 team that missed a bowl game and lost all its hype, but what happened? Today, we will take a deep dive into the season, how it played out and what happened, enjoy!

Colorado had too much noise during the offseason. Real fans known they would have won 6 wins at best year one. They went 4-8 from 1-11. That’s is rebuilding. Hopefully they can improve year 2 and possibly see a bowl game or something better.

It's always funny to watch the Sanders Cultists roll out that, "there won 4 games and the year before they only won 1......Durrrrrrrr.........." He didn't take the existing roster and coach them up from 1 win to 4. That would be commendable. He brought in a completely different "hand picked" (he said that himself) and only won 4 games....Against teams that were all sub five hundred teams........Won only 1 conference game........And ya'll act like he really did something?

Looking at Dan Lanning's legendary speech below here if there's a lot of CO players and staff who are offended by this than they're already beat though they will improve. They want elite it won't happen unless the attitude is more mature. Big strong bodies with frail minds, emotions don't work. "The Cinderella story is over, man. They're fighting for clicks; we're fighting for wins. There's a difference, right? There's a difference, right? This game isn't going to be played in Hollywood, right? Nothing went wrong. They have a first year coach who is boisterous. They didn’t have the talent to compete with the best teams in the former Pac-12. They succeeded in drawing attention to the program so more recruits will come in and they won more than 1 game. Next year will be something to go by. We all knew it wouldn’t be a national or conference championship for them before the year started.

Also note, most Colorado fans you see online, aren't Colorado fans, they're Deion fans. Prior to him arriving on campus, you couldn't find a CU fan on the internet. TCU dumped a lot of it's roster over the off-season, which is why Colorado slapped them around. TBF, I didn't expect that, but the rest of the season went as expected for anyone that had any realistic outlook on Colorado. Deion needs to work on recruiting if he wants to build anything in substance. They ranked 106 overall with 6 commits... That's awful for ANY power 5(or is it power 4 now🤔) school. Their portal class is 4th overall, but that's not as good as it sounds. Most teams only hit portal to cherry pick needs, he got an entire signing class damn near through the portal. If that's going to be the method he recruits, Colorado will be inconsistent over the years as long as he's there. You can't sign classes compiled on 90% being other people's players every year, forcing them in a new system and expect it to go smooth.

Colorado their biggest problem is they don't have the right attitude to meet their own expectations. I heard their latest introduction from their entire coaching and support staff. Many of them looked unhappy that's a problem because yes you can be super hard and skilled that's great and they have some of that. But show some genuine joy. For example if the coach hires an assistant who acts like he's miserable that is going to hurt entire program. I could careless how good the guy is there's better guys who have all the elements needed. You can't fake it. Sorry if I was a young man I would not want to play there. There's plenty of solid good teams that lost a number of one score games that end up 8-4 or 7-5. And they even won their bowl games proving their excellence. Teams are going to be more and more forced to win on development and loyalty to the program. This will make it harder to win on talent as being a primary factor. CO Buffs started on the wrong footing. Now with a 12 game playoff if they ever make it in future years I am certain they will be humbled again by more established programs that have the right attitude and years of established coaching experience. Getting all the 4 and 5 stars won't make the difference. You have to cover all bases.

They were just shitty for 15 years. It’s a school with a natty and a heisman and a winning record over every team going back to the BIG12. Sorry you’ve only paid attention to the SEC Michigan and maybe Texas in the last decade.I guess under this Logic people only care about like 10 Blue Blood schools and nobody cares about any other school outside the SEC and BIG10 and not even most of those schools.

While colorado played in a pretty loaded conference, i dont think a bowl game shouldve ever been out of the conversation. I dont think Deion will end up winning much as a head coach, because he cant teach discipline, rather he encourages cockiness and individuality. He brought in pretty much a whole new team and finished with the same in-conference record and had it not been for jeff sims, the same overall record as last year. I have a feeling that his head coaching career is simply an excuse to put his son in the best situation to succeed at the next level.

I know the circumstances were different but what was better about UTs ? All the better players were asked to leave but its was because of ties to Jeremy Pruitt not their talent . Heupel had a good first season too If Deion had done that? This 21st day of January the parade would still be going . God moved Deion to J State now to D1 Colorado . Coach Prime doesn't care about recruiting high school players to build a strong foundation in a couple seasons because he only recruied a few of them. It's like he's planning on leaving with his son after next season because all he is looking for is quick fixes from the portal to make his son look good. Coach Prime scapegoated his OC/Play Caller during the middle of the season by demoting him because his program fell off a cliff. So his team will probably be similar next season because they will probably have depth issues again.

Lol you’re so wrong! Coach prime got hired in December of 2022. The early signing period is in December which means that the overwhelming majority of top tier HS players was already taken long before he got there. Only a complete imbecile would try rely on leftover HS players if they age trying to completely overhaul a drastically failing team. Literally the only way to get an influx of immediate talent is the transfer portal and that’s just what he did and won 4 times more games than the previous coaching staff did. Now the big problem although its not really a problem is that a lot of black people (not all not trynna cause any argumants) love coach Prime cause he unapologetically black so when he came in talking smack and beat a team that was ranked in the top 4 the year before a lot of people believed in him because they wanted him to win which is why you saw such strong support for the Buffs which cause a lot of people online who dont watch CFB regularly talking about CFB for clicks which then caused a lot of people to hate on the Buffs because of the perception of "undeserved attention." I dont think anything went wrong for the Buffs this was the expected outcome. New team new HC at the worst program in the Pac 12 and this is exactly why they signed Prime

But it can't be the main thing, and Oregon is in a different phase than Colorado. For Colorado, they are building their brand and roster. The people that think they’re going to be worse in 2024 in an inferior Big 12 are just as delusional as those fans that thought they would win 8+ games in his very first year as a power 5 coach. With a 4-8 record he made the program more relevant than programs with winning records. He’s making himself and the school millions. It would’ve been way easier if he kept his mouth shut, but would he have drawn the same attention?? No way. He’s not a great coach. Can he be?? Maybe….
