Comic here too. Yes, this was a fascinating walk through KL. My wife and I have been slow-traveling for a couple of years now, but until now we still had a home base in Texas. We just went full nomad and sold everything but what fits in a 10x10 storage unit. We're starting our full nomad journey along with our two cats in Querétaro Mexico for a couple of months. Thanks to you, Kuala Lumpur has moved up a few notches on our list. It looks amazing!

Whenever we’re somewhere new, a walk through neighbourhoods has always seemed the logical first step in experiencing the culture. It’s my favourite thing. Living it vicariously is the next best thing.

Loved watching this walking tour around KL from beginning to end. I know I have found this video a bit later than it was filmed but thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been to KL a couple of times as a 'health check' tourist but being on my own and having limited time, haven't felt so adventurous. Can't wait to go back and explore some more. Comic! I loved the walkabout and of course, the narration always gives us a chuckle. I particularly enjoy the street art, you always find the most fascinating streets to mosey down. Also appreciate how you show the "real" parts of town not just the glitz and glamor of the must-do shiny objects tourist spots. I would like to see more of the bookstore you mentioned and maybe some night shots to see the spectacular lights. Thanks again for another Saturday morning delight!

      Hey you two!!!
Over the moon that you enjoyed this. The background to it was that we often look at a place and just don't seem to get the feel from videos. For example, I was interested to know whether it would be walkable from Petaling Street to the twin towers but couldn't get the feel for that before getting to KL so thought I would make our own.
Look forward to talking to you later!!!!

When it's too cold or rainy to walk outdoors I use our treadmill and put on "walking tour" videos, mute them, and listen to music as I walk. It gives me the feel of walking outside when I can't. This video puts me in the mind of those videos. I could see myself walking on the treadmill to it, but to just sit and watch it is a little boring TBH. (beautiful scenery though!) That being said, I look forward to your videos every week and will continue to tune in. It's just become part of my Saturday morning - watch 2GoRoam while I eat breakfast. Really nice walk Neil, thank you. I personally enjoy the walk-and-talk kind of videos when most of the camera time is on the city and not just the narrator. I laughed at a few bits (Lol, U.S. Americans don’t use the word “bits” like the Brit’s, but I like it, it’s very short and useful). So, the bit about the MALL (25:35) was funny. Good to know other people pronounce it MAL (so for us, it’s a cross between Cal and Meow, lol), and the bit about inviting people not to subscribe, too funny. The COMIC-Con was very cool, I never realized how fun that would be to see. Maybe one day I’ll attend the one they put on in San Diego. Just for the record, I love the way the English talk and how they use and pronounce their words, with the exception of MALL, I like every “bit” of it. Sorry my comment was so long, but at least it wasn’t 45 min, lol, jk, little joke there.

Comic. I enjoyed this format and watched quite happily while sewing. When we arrive at a new destination the first thing we do is get on a hop on hop off bus to familiarise our selves with the city. So this kind of feels a little like that, just from the comfort of home. Well done and appreciate your effort in the extreme humidity.

It was very different this week but we enjoyed it as we would a nice COMIC book. We have yet to visit South East Asia but it is on our radar for fall 2024 so it’s really nice to see it through your lens and get a general feel for the area. As you asked for feedback, I will say that it may have been a tad bit long since the motion on the screen created by walking and looking around can generate a bit of cyber sickness at times. The idea of this type of video can be useful to those who wish to visit the cities you feature so I would continue doing them occasionally, but perhaps you may wish to consider making them a tad bit shorter. 😊

Impressive that you can walk and talk in the heat and humidity. More challenging to also be a comic in those conditions. I couldn’t do it. I’m one of those that enjoys watching videos of routes between two points. Not only shows the glitz and glam, but the grit as well. I’m a fan.

COMIC! Ok.... so much to say, but first a HUGE thank you for taking the time and making the effort. THIS is what I was talking about in yesterday's (Sunday's) wonderful Live Stream. While I very much LOVE to see what Neil and Sarah are personally up to wherever you are in the world, I do love a walk-thru of the area with or without audio comment. The "where" could be typed in at the appropriate spots. I'm sittin' pretty here in my lovely little village of fewer than 500 residents on the Northern Neck of Virginia and I get to see in real-time what others are doing quite a number of time zones away. To me, it's fascinating. I watched to the end because of the perspective it allowed me to have/to change/to re-think. That's what you guys do, without even trying. Again, thank you so much. I'll take you and Sarah any which way. You're like dear friends we've never met but would love to. You're down to earth and I get to live vicariously, which right now.... is a.o.k. (BTW, yesterday Zoom was mentioned, but we've also had great success with Google Meet, which one CAN do on an Apple. Yet another option.) See you guys!

I liked this walking video. I've been to KL but didn't walk your route (mostly drove to be honest as it's so hot!). So I think it's worth doing more of these to give a feel of any new cities you visit. Hope you start feeling better soon.. Oh and Comic!

I like this kind of video. It shows the good, the bad, and the ugly. It shows not every part of a city is manicured and Instagram perfect. Showing views a person would actually live in is valuable to get a sense of reality.

I think this is a great addition to the already great content and insight, and would happily sit and soak up all that your travels have to share. Those towers look immense. Oh, and by the way, COMIC.

Love the walkabout style. As an American sometimes we think if things aren't all bright and shiny we don't visit. I love local neighborhoods and the feel of this video to give you a real sense of the area. Always looking to know when video was filmed to know the weather for a particular month. If you do this style would appreciate mentioning what month the video was filmed.
Sorry to hear you're still feeling unwell. Hope they figure things out for you soon. Missing Sarah as well hope she's back in the videos soon.
    Safe travels!

Having visited KL and walked around quite a bit in other modern Asian cities also, it gives a very realistic idea of the city area. Not just the usual tourist spots. Singapore comes to mind as a good city to do one of these too. They do go all out for the comic festival.

Really enjoyed the walk about video and seeing so many of the streets we used to pound. Rob said he now feels home sick and is desperately needing to visit as his tshirts are starting to look a little tired.
Loved the "comic" value added with the "mall".
Not surprisingly they have changed the 3d art at the pavilion... wish you could have seen the cat stepping out of the building when we were there. Will have to see if I have it on my hard drive that are with us.

      Hey Reve & Rob!
Pleased you enjoyed it a very different style for us and it gave Sarah a much needed break while I headed out :-)
Funny thing, they had the cat thing at the Pavilion and that was specifically what I looked to capture... as I was shooting, the camera overheated so I missed it by only a few seconds. Damn.
      Best regards,
      Neil & Sarah

It has actually been unusually cool in the Klang Valley (includes Kuala Lumpur) since at least early 2018. Whereas we used to have very hot and dry spells that would last 4 to 5 months in a year, there have been hardly any these past 5 years with the longest hot(tish) spell lasting at most 3 weeks. Prior to this cool weather, denizens would also have to contend with the very dreaded HAZE that would see the entire atmosphere regularly enveloped with smog - there have been no such occurrences these past 5 years. In my entire 50 years in Klang Valley, never have I experienced this relatively cool weather. It looks as if the cool trend is set to continue in 2023, hopefully :)

We often watch walking videos on TH-cam before and after our travels to a holiday destination, most of them with just the street noise and odd street name or point of interest popping up on screen. Loved your walking video but in particular loved your rolling commentary, open honest and with the odd recommendation along the way. Would love to see more like this on your travels.
