Can you ask your butcher to sell you their fat trimmings. They usually throw them away. Also look up how decaf is made. Decaf is made with tons of chemicals. Drink meat broth instead. You can fry the meat with the fat trimmings after you make the meat broth. Bone broth will have high histamines: Look it up. Lion is ruminant meat, salt and water only.

I'm not gonna defend coffee, but there is such thing as chemical-free decaffeination, it is called Swiss water process. I only buy decaf made this way. That being said, though I hadn't noticed any improvements in my health when I stopped coffee last year, I definitely noticed a sudden presence of physical anxiety sensations when I reintroduced it. I also suspect it's the reason my sleep has been degrading in quality. I am finishing the coffee I have in the house and then going sober again. 😅

One of the best energy rejuvenators I've tried so far. Currently on the Lion Diet with a little decaf with lots of butter. You can also use MCT 8 oil in coffee if you are not religious about Carnivore. MCT gave me the biggest energy boost.

I just watched your video about your long time struggle with IBS, diets, etc where you said carnivore gave you your life back and one big reason was you no longer had to obsess over food. I appreciate you, your heart and your efforts. It seems that this video shows a tendency towards obsessing over food again! Are we ever truly free then? God Bless

    • @neahsway
      @neahsway  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Well, for me there's a big difference between where I was all those years ago and where I am now. When I used to obsess over food it was a constant battle with cravings for junk, alcohol, counting calories specifically (which I don't do anymore), and my weight. That combined with my genuine curiosity to figure out what was bothering me did overtake me for a long time, but looking back, I wouldn't say that was all a negative thing. It brought me to a place where I now understand my body from a much more intuitive sense, and I don't crave things like I used too. The things I crave now are healthy for me, and I use those signals to move forward towards better health. I feel like I'm now working with my body instead of against it. Like a partnership 😁. There are still some things to improve and figure out, so I'm continuing to do that. But I know what my triggers are that lead to unhealthy behavior, so I avoid those. No calorie counting/restriction, no over exercising. Just pursuing my best health and sharing what that's like so others who struggle may be encouraged. This is actually a great video topic, I may do one ! Thanks! ❤️✨️

Oxylate dumping from years of vegetables is a problem when you switch to carnivore cold turkey. Especially if coming from a more plant based (ie lots of spinach, nuts). It can cause skin stuff like you have or had.

High fat diet is a healing diet for hormonal issues, and CNS issues esp. brain and peripheral nerves plus healing inflammation issues. I bake Suet chunks in the oven in the same pan as my beef until the Suet becomes slightly crispy. I add salt to the Suet before placing in oven. I eat the liquid fat along with the beef and I eat the semi crispy Suet pieces. I will dip the chunks of beef in the liquid Tallow This way I am getting plenty of extra fat. More Suet/Tallow is the answer to whatever ails you. I am able to buy Suet at my local grocer.

ALL forms of dairy (including Ghee) triggers symptoms for me. Gluten, dairy, and eggs are the three foods that I think are probably most important to remove while on an elimination diet. It’s unfortunate since butter is so palatable. I just stick with tallow for now while doing ketovore. However, I do still have dairy occasionally just to verify that I still react to it and cuz it’s so good. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend going as long as you can without dairy, see how things go. If things are going well, then you can try introducing other foods (like fruits or vegetables) to “make up” for the removal of dairy.

I’ve read some great information on the healing benefits of goat milk and colostrum supplements. I’m going to go decaf thanks to you (hadn’t even thought about that before) and try some goat milk with it and see how I go. I also think butter is a no no for me and possibly eggs and pork. I heard Dr Berry mention that our bones are around 50% protein in his Q&A yesterday, that scared me a bit because I was on a fruitarian/plant diet for 2 years a while ago and I'm just wondering how much bone protein I may have lost during that period. Just added this because I think that this may be some of the healing our bodies need after we learn just how deficient plants are.

I had my legs medically broken to straighten them. I’m now 33 soon 34 and carnivore lifestyle is the first time in my life, since 4 years old, when my mom took the meat away from us, now is the first time I start feeling good again. Bones heal quick. Body heals quick when given the chance. Bone density is recovered quick with proper amount of fat and protein. Just keep eating the meats. Suet. Gellatin.

Gosh, love your videos, they are really on point! All the luck in February! I've started carnivore in January with beef, butter, salmon, sardines and teas, seasonings. Cut out the seafood already, so just beef, butter and teas/herbs. Noticed I don't feel weel when I have a lot of salt, been looking into Dana Spencer and Bella the Steak and Butter gal, they have convinced me to try no salt. Been having joint pain as well, just in my ankles. For no particular reason. And sore throat. WTF?! Hopefully, this is some form of detox. So, try looking into no salt, maybe we don't really need it. Also the Bear's thread has some info on it.

You could be reacting to the equivalent to plant Lectins which are the agglutinins in meat and dairy products.
Lectins can bring on joint pain. I got it a lot it in my legs when i last ate both wheat and potato chips same day together.
Pain lasted for days before recovered. Stamina now increased since coming off them.
These two videos cover more on Lectins if it helps:
th-cam.com/video/Qz-RYx9Dy-o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=L9pmoAPVjAg9-bI7 (An introduction from a success story)
      th-cam.com/video/CDtTCWMj7Pw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OaJIZJbQDsFgPHlK (BTD author explanation)
I also can't have tea myself. Something else to watch out for.
If things don't work out for you going carnivore/Lion Diet, your body chemistry being different to those who found success on it could be why.
Not all can eat so much meat and have it work well long term. Some struggle. And individual foods, plant or meat, can still cause trouble.

I was having really bad heart issues, gut issues, lethargy and Drs had no idea why. I stopped vegan and went full carnivore and in days all my symptoms were gone...days...I still have some things I am working through, guessing vegan really damaged my health and its going to take awhile to fully recover. I will say I have 1 thing I have not been able to get rid of and that is dark chocolate. It seems to not affect me but I would like to fully get rid of sugar, one day. This is so interesting, I was listening to this while driving to, and from my destination(like a podcast). I am currently on my own carnivore journey.
I was just curious, I saw in one of your previous videos that your hair colour changed due to diet…and I was just wondering if it changed again in this video because of your diet or have you dyed it again? I noticed the colour was a bit different again this time, and because I noticed my hair health has improved greatly on carnivore. My hair has been dry for ages, living in humid Canada, after having four children. It finally returned to its proper texture and shine after a month and a half of carnivore👏
Another thing that we have in common is I realized that butter was affecting me too because I tried the lion diet in January as well. I actually didn’t stick to it for the full 30 days because some things came up which I’m gonna explain in a video but I realize that butter was breaking me out as well. I originally kept it in there because Steak and Butter Gal, and other various carnivore’s said butter didn’t irritate them, but a thing to remember is that all of us have different bodies and so what works for one carnivore may not work for the next. We also live in different environments. We have different cultural backgrounds, we have different genetics. We have different levels of stress and we have different budgets. There’s just lots of variables, just like when you were saying your bedtime routine is affected by your daughter’s bedtime routine. Our diet can be affected by those around us as well. It’s hard to be on a diet for health when everyone around you is just eating a regular way!
There’s lots of exploring to be done to make this work for us personally, but that’s part of the FUN 🦁

Thanks for this! As far as my hair goes, I'm just letting the color I did a few weeks back fade. I was going for a more pastel, tinted blonde but got carried away as I sometimes do with it.😅 It's fun for me. I don't use any hot tools on my hair, and only blow dry sometimes in the winter if I'm going out and only after it's 80% dry already. I've noticed over the years it's kept my hair in great shape despite some coloring. So I don't know if the diet has actually affected my hair in terms of color or shininess, yet. We'll see! I agree that we all have to tweak things to our own individual needs! It can be so frustrating at times, but the inner journey to get there is a prize so worth the earning. ❤️

Neah, are you checking your blood ketone, or breath ketone, and blood glucose levels? I've discovered that my energy level is related to ketone and blood glucose. The higher ketone with lower glucose gives me higher energy. Also it is a delicate balance between protein and fat. Too much protein along with too little fat increases blood glucose (gluconeogenesis) for energy, and that process seems to create more fatigue. It seems that I have to lower protein intake, and increase fat. Also we all have a different metabolic process - slight or large difference; and we have to figure out what works best for us. All medical treatments are based on some statistical distribution - let's say a normal distribution - which means that the standard of care only works well if one is dead on the mean, and no one can tell us where we are on said distribution. If we are a standard deviation away from the mean - which we cannot know - we are essentially on our own with the standard of care models. Same applies to our dietary process.

I'm wondering if there isn't a thyroid issue . . . and here's why. You mentioned stopping your Lugel's drops for January; the thyroid needs iodine, and regulates a lot of hormones . . . and you began dreaming of seafood, and when you finally had some, you could have eaten more, especially the oysters (good for iodine!). So, if the skin issues are hormonal, and your thyroid is still finding its balance (which is one of the conditions that seems to take a long time to normalize), that might be the key to finally clearing those up.

I eat my beef and mutton fat raw. The difference in digestion is unreal.. I can eat 200gr in one sitting and feel light and good afterwards. Tallow on the other hand I tolerate quite poorly. It makes me feel bad although I don't get diarrhea

@@alliemarie1090The fat I buy tastes wonderful. I've preferred it raw from the very beginning. But only if I buy the fat on it's own. Fat pieces on steaks taste nasty to me because of the muscle meat juices getting over it and making it wet. I buy the fat in big ol chunks. It's crumbly, dry but also creamy. Delicious if you ask me.

I had no idea it was Carnivore month yet here I am, been Carnivore for 4 weeks now. One of your videos popped up in my feed re your psoriasis. I watch it and that is when I began. I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis (plaque on my scalp) I have also "developed" Type 2 Diabetes. I went vegan a few years back for about 3 years, gained weight and realised it wasn't right for me. I tried raw plant based to see if that would help, then diagnosed for type 2, then we went into lockdowns and I just ate what I grew up on, meat and veg. This passed year I have been on Keto which I found helped and brought my sugar levels downs and some weight loss (10kg). But Im still unwell with arthritis and psoriasis, fatigue, memory issues etc etc. Oh and Menopause has started! Well the process has begun. Or has it been stress related???? Massive stress, depression and grieving for the loss of my father in July 22. Hair loss and periods stopped. I simply put it down to the start of menopause (47yo) but It could well be all the above? I got my period the day after I began Carnivore, after not having it for 6 months. One day means nothing lol, just a coincidental fact. Lets see if I get it this month. What I have noticed is the break out of pimples on my face, and I have sores on my arms from tiny blisters (cant recall name) I believe I am detoxing and is showing on my skin. I eat once a day, just meat, cooked in butter and I feel full, I have even skipped a whole day without food twice as I simply wasn't hungry and I'm not even thinking about food. I'm not even concerned about what it is I am going to be cooking!!!! It's so simple! No guess work as to what foods I should or should not eat as it eliminates it all! Carbs, gluten, allergy prone foods etc. I have lost 3.5kg so far, without even trying, just by eating meat. I still have my coffee in the mornings and have just eliminated the one teaspoon of sugar yesterday. My partner has now begun carnivore with me and is doing research on it. Sorry, was not meant to wright an essay!

That's great! Keep us posted! I've noticed some improvement so far in my knees eating 80-85% fat this month. I wasn't tracking before, and am realizing I was probably at around 60% fat on average before February. I haven't been able to get to OMAD yet, but that may come with time! Thanks for sharing this, very helpful!

I still have pain and still on medication but I am breaking out so detoxing has begun and I have lost 4kg so far. I don't feel hungry and finding this very easy to follow. Not having to think or remember what it is I should avoid makes my life less complicated. @@neahsway

Hi Neah, going through a similar skin struggle as you. I was hardcore high fat lion diet, no coffee, dairy or anything, for about 9 months and did not see ANY improvement in my skin beyond initial improvements. I break out around my cycle. Been taking Lugols iodine for 3 months now with no noticeable changes. My digestion is actually worse than it was pre-carnivore. I am very suspicious of mold, parasites or SIBO for myself. I have been building myself up to extended fasts of 5-7 days but so far I bonk out at 4 days. I am quite lean and a distance runner so I have to be cautious.
At the moment I am still about 98% lion, I've relaxed with pastured pork/chicken and sometimes light seasonings at restaurants. I have backed off the high fat because I don't seem to be lusting after it anymore (and it just makes such a mess even in the air fryer). I am definitely not fully healed at 18months carnivore, my journey is certainly not linear either. I'm still searching for answers.
It's nice to hear not everyone has the instant miracle cures on carnivore. Some of us are still having a hard time. Thank you for sharing your story.

90 days is what usually takes for results to show. 30 days is too short from my personal experience. You must stop the coffee, any sweeteners. And eat more eggs if you don't have an allergic reaction. Cutting coffee is easier than you think. I went no coffee for two years to dampen my Hashimoto's Disease. It worked! And after 2 years carnivore, I've began to drink coffee again after a remarkable recovery last year.
