Watching “Quiz” I really got some sympathy for Charles but if I watch any real life footage of him I can’t stand him? The actor definitely made him look very nice

Yeah Michael Sheen is a fantastic actor obviously, but I'm just not sure this role is worthy of the paudits it got. Firstly, the fake tan and white teeth are massively overdone to the point he looks nothing like Tarrant. Secondly, like you said, it verges on to hammy impression far too often, it's like you're about to hear "That's Numberwang!" at any point. The guy playing Ingram also looks nothing like him.

I might do more of the footage but I didn't want to take the piss with ITV and put the whole thing haha! It still looks pretty good though. :) I didn't do this as criticism or analysis, just for fun!
Thank you so much for this. I have watched it yesterday in German, it was a nightmare. Wish I could see the whole thing in original. It was very interesting to see fiction and reality compared.
I adore Matthew so much. One of my favorites. But I just never felt like he embodied Charles Ingram at all during the show. Whereas Martin Sheen sounds and looks just like Chris, all Matthew really has in common with Charles is the shirt.
I really liked the show, especially how they portrayed the Ingram's side of the story. Although I still have issues with the double standard the final episode put out, given it went on about how the media were defining a verdict before the trial actually started, and yet the biopic was conveniently aired as the Ingram's were about to have their court appeal.
5:04-5:10 The way the phone’s ringing and how the camera is being focused is so cool but tense at the same time. Too bad Charles only got to experience it once. Paddy Spooner got to experience it thrice....that’s right....three times. What a chap. I wonder how he felt each time he experienced it. I also wonder which one he enjoyed the best, the one that got him the most nervous, and etc.
Somehow reminds me of Slumdog Millionaire since they are both related to Who Wants to be a Millionaire? The only difference is Jamal (the contestant) did not cheat (or rather not guilty of it) and he won the game by luck since he was able to answer all questions correctly based on his childhood.

I thought Quiz was amazing, as was the documentary, Major Fraud.

There was a movie called Quiz years ago with the same concept - american accused of cheating on a quiz show started a British actor. Set in the 1950s
