The Mercier Kilo TT is one of the most widely respected fixed gears yet one of the most humble.But what if you took those good Kilo TT bones and spiced it up with a custom sparkle, DIY fork threading, and a splash of high end components to make what could be the sickest Kilo TT known to man? From Jakarta, Indonesia, here's Naj's Kilo TT beater fixed gear.
How to have your fixed gear featured:
1. Email me your extensive parts list: iam(at)zachgallardo.com with BIKE CHECK in subject line. Include your Instagram handle if you want to be tagged.
2. What's the story behind your bike? What makes it unique? What do you like/dislike about it?
3. Send me your 1080p or 4k video files via Google Drive or Dropbox. Video files must be:
1) 10-15 seconds long each
2) have as little camera movement as possible (little camera shake, no pans/zooms)
3) 20-25 different shots with 3 shots of your complete bike is a good amount.
4. Keep in mind I'll run ads on the video to help cover the cost of producing the bike checks. Gotta stay fed.
5. Follow this carefully. Only about 20% of people do and can actually have their bike checks made. Be a top tier person.

This gave me an idea. I've got some white cloth tape I'm going to be rubbing with elderberries or poke berries and then clear shellacking. May as well try and mix some art herpies in with the shellac for some added sparkle.
I can tell this is a SEA bike build by looking at the thumbnail. Probably Indonesian, let's find out.

Nice Wabi special. I own the same bike. Mine is the limited edition blue/chrome from 2012. I love your paint color. Wabi does make the best fixed gear/single speed steel frame (the best frame material)

coaster brakes are a maintenance nightmare
Let’s just say that fixed gear is the oldest bike technology that’s still used today. Even with the freewheel, cassettes and any other sprocket technology upgrades, fixed gear is still going strong

Are Shimano PD-R540 good for hard fixed gear street riding? Won't the plastic just snap or unclip while skidding?

I’ve had them on a road bike with the original cleats for over 2 years now, they’ve been on the lowest tension setting and never unclipped on accident. They’re solid. I’m sure they’d be great for hard fixed gear riding
Hey Zach, how is having thickslick tire at both front + rear? I’m considering to replace my back tire with the same one.... is having both better than just rear?
You should just use it for rear if you use it. Not enought grip for front tire and the front tire doesn't wear nearly as much.
So im assuming all the fixie bikers dont commute no fenders to not get wet where do they put their shopping?

hi, love your channel so much i got a fixie. i really wanna use toe straps, but since it is top heavy, the straps keeps rotating downwards & going down, which makes it really hard to clip in right away. any solutions? which toes clips (or straps) that doesn't do this?
it will be like that. just ride and you gonna get used to that.

Wait wait wait... 48/17 is considered "spinny"? I ride my bike for at least 4 hours a day, at least 5 days a week, and i use 48/18, and that shit does not feel spinny, unless i'm riding on a flat with no headwind. Damn I must got little bitch legs.
