Ali Clarkson here on youtube has used lightbicycle rims for a while now, and that's for MTB trials. Crazy stuff, jumping up and down rocks at head level.
I think the problem with cheap carbon rims is not that they'll perform badly but just that they have worse quality control so you could get a dodgy rim that breaks after a few uses
Zach, the carbon rims coming out of China have improved by leaps and bounds in the past 5 years. They are nearly on par with name brands. Manufactured in many of the same facilities. Perhaps the QC is not quite as good but in my experience, I really can't complain.
Had the same stiff feeling when I went from a 6KU with stock cranks to a Dolan Pre-Cursa with Pistard Air cranks, the power feels so direct. Awesome feeling to push and immediately feel the acceleration. For those who think it doesn't change how fast you ride, I took 2 KOMs in the same ride, the first month of riding a stiffer bike ;)
No mention of frame pump in review? Also, extra style points should be awarded if frame pump is clipped between rear dropout and seat stay/seat tube junction. Nice bike by the way.
*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
I've had omniums, and I currently run those same rotor cranks, and I can tell you the rotor are a LOT more flexible. I am going to replace the rotor arms with the new carbon arms since those are supposed to be better.
Climbing hills on the rotor ALDHU alloy arms has so much flex you can feel your foot is at an angle, you're forced to climb out of the saddle so that you can tilt the bike and level out your feet.
@@15buggie haha I did, but the campy pista i got was defective, so I sent it back for warranty, but they had stopped selling them so I just got my money back.
@@galenkehler LOL I've had flexy bikes but cranks that sounds weird. Are carbon cranks suppose to be stiff? I feel like my 10 year old fsa ones are flex laterallly by hand pressure

I'll always keep that bike I bought it new in 2015 and I just keep changing it to upgraded stuff. But I'm now going to build me a bike from all these parts that I'm going to order new. I want to make a fixed gear bike that's all carbon fiber and really light. I already got the carbon fiber 16 mm rims just came in. And I already got the two alarms systems to go on it. Proud ex-user of a BLB Viper (smashed by a car who jumps stop signal and ignore to assist me). Integrated seat post was the key to buy it (pros: stiffer rear triangle? Maybe? Cons: dont let your mechanic cut the seat post, I told him my measures and he cuts 3cm more than I want and is way hard to sell, because of the “custom seatpost lenght”. And… can someone told me why width bars are so popular? Gutted my riser biketrials (yes, I use a biketrials handlebar in a fixed gear) carbon bar to 70cm to filter trough Barcelona traffic, i cannot undertand how you can filter with that huge bars without hit any side mirrors…
It's mainly for the looks I guess. Wide bars would make sense paired with a shorter stem ala MTB, but I don't think the fixed gear scene thrives on choices that normally would make sense for the most part imo. But hell what do I know lmao the bike looks cool as shit regardless of what I think so props to my dude in the video.

Sorry for this... but as a life long track bike rider and professional bike mechanic this low key killed me haha. I'd really hope if you're riding a bike of this caliber you'd know what a "stiff" bike is and not just picking things for the sake of being different. But who am I to judge my bike is also too expensive
Hello Zach Gallardo audience, it's a wierd place to ask but I could not find any information about this subject online. Is there a fixed gear scene in Israel? I am not necessarily asking Zach because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't know But if some audience member by chance happens to read this comment and know, it would be highly appreciated
Nice bike, but cmon bro you absolutely DO care what people think of it and where people like it. Most of the specs he chose we because they're 'different', there's a reason for that. Not hating, but just embrace that you want people to like your bike.
I appreciate you not hating but to be completely honest, I can care less about what other people think about my bike builds. I build bikes based off of what I genuinely like. The last thing I’d want to do is pick/choose a bicycle component just so I can have someone other than me like my build if that makes sense.
the fixed gear community is a counterculture. meaning it's fundamentaly against the hegemonial norm of society. fuck rules, fuck your understanding of beauty, fuck your way of life. So the whole core of the movement is based off the opinion of others. and so is normal society so what's your point? I wear clothes, I genuinly don't care what others think of me but I do care about not getting arrested for sexual assault because I run around naked. So ultimatly I care about the opinion of others... mainly law enforcement.
Not at all, the frame was build specially to my measurements. One of the reasons why it looks tall is because the bottom bracket was purposely put higher to reduce pedal striking when turning :)
gotta say the geometry is certainly eccentric, but the paint job wouldnt be for me lol. other than the font of the brand name, the color scheme is quite basic.

Honestly, I’ve just recently been riding my chain a lot looser than I used to. Way quieter and I feel like I can spin faster/easier.
