    Good advice, bothying years ago we kept 1 set of clothing dry at all costs, nowday,s in dry bags. I would recommend Berhauss Yeti Gaiters and sealskin sock,s, some people soak pant,s etc in permathon I think it,s called, to keep the ticks off.Send parcels onward to keep weight down, power packs etc are heavy.

      Yes I think the anti tick spray really works as we never got a tick so far anywhere. Only my outer clothes though I haven't needed to do my grundies so far. I don't remember ticks as a kid.

    Exciting!
    I need to look into Huel 🤔

      It keeps us going and it's lightweight. Add some 'proper' food now and then, it's great. Welcome home, I have some catching up to do of your trip.

    I'm not sure if you can still do this but you could send food parcels on to Poat Offices when I did this walk so reducing pack weight.

      Nice one, we did do that yes to KInlochewe PO and to Inchnadamph hostel. How was your walk?

      @Martycycleman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha ha, what's the procedure to send parcels? I've looked on the post office Web and it's not obvious.
      I did this walk in the mid-90s after reading a book my Mam bought me for Crimbo.
      It certainly was an experience good overall, but wet. I managed to cook outside the tent three times. It took me about two and half weeks, I think 🤔

      @@Martycycleman We were blessed with good weather. If it had rained for days on end would we have completed it? I hope so but ..... @mapgirl70 Can you answer the poste restante post office question please? I'll get back to you Marty.

    Need to keep it in the 12 kg range for 7 days with re supply parcels I would suggest based upon my cape wrath. Great trail wishing you success

      That would be ideal Mow. I'm often looking at ways to lighten my load.

    Ok great start, I’d consider ditching the water crossing shoes and go for cheap sandals, also ditch the delta pegs you won’t need them, the water filter is also another place to save weight, look at a Be Free filter, those 2 things might save you 800g. Safe travels hope it goes well, When are you going?

    • @tubbatravels

      Good advice. We have already come back. The shoes were great camp shoes but yes I have already bought some cheep light things for river crossings and I'll take a look at the Be Free filter cheers.

      It's a good question daz, one I repeatedly review. I'll have to get back to you on that one but ask map girl, I'm always going on about you and your super light pack and how do you do it. At the end of the vid the full kit list is up, if you've got any ideas.....?????????

    Always interesting to see what others take although I'm too lazy to Google kg to a proper measurement in pounds so no idea about the weight!? 😁🎅🍺

      36.5 pounds. I weigh myself in KG these days but height is always feet and inches. I can't keep up. he he he

    Have you considered for your next trip the Katadyn Befree instead of the Grayl? Fraction of the weight, collapsible and filters out all the crap with a brilliant flow rate.

    • @tubbatravels
      @tubbatravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Edward. That is something I'll look into. I like the sound of collapsible as well.

      I'm not allowed to say, map girls orders. What I can say is that the Cape wrath trail is more a mental thing than a physical thing but it does help to have some fitness. I put part one out tomorrow. Thanks for dropping by. Appreciated.
