This morning I was watching 5-6 replays of zest doing this opener .I've seen Stats to do it as well since he said multiple times that he uses builds from zest and now I've opened youtube and I see this which is amazing.You give so many details and insight of the opener and i freaking love it ! I assume someone mentioned this already, but at 15:00 against the double widow-mine drop. He had already blinked up and away (Up & Right). So he probably didn't want to blink in, as it would be 15:05 when he could and that's right when the two mines come out. So two mines for miniscule mining time lost, versus potentially losing a stalker (HOPEFULLY not two) but getting the medivac. I would assume he wouldn't lose any probes even if he lost a stalker, but this IS a difficult game!
Thanks for the video, Harstem! A bit of feedback: the game is a bit too late at times. For instance, it was harder to make out what you're saying during the last fight. So, why would you ever get a single forge with this build? Fast thirds with mass chargelots make double forge is super affordable... let alone the power spike of the 2-2. I usually go robo twilight into double forge at 4:50 instead, so this is a faster forge, but still... As for the hellion run by thing... I always wall my natural by default and have no idea how early a hellion run by can hit with barracks first. How much do you need to deal with it without a wall? And wouldn't it still be better to have a wall if it happens at the same time as a widow mine drop? Is there any important reason to open with an adept other than saving a bit of gas for the sentry? I feel I'd rather open stalker to have an extra one once blink is researched. And lastly, I'm a little reluctant to open with such a late robo. It seems the only great advantage of opening sentry is the slightly earlier scout the fact it's easier to go deeper into the terran's base. On the other hand, that delays my observer production so it's harder to respond to harassment. I can also start blink almost just as early (3:30). How do you feel about that? Sorry if I'm asking too many question (I know I am lol).
Hi Harstem, you faild in description and put 2 times the same replay. Very nice video btw, thanks you very much. I used to do this build with 3 gates instead of 2. And i took it from Classic in his final GSL vs Gumiho. What do you think of the 3 gates version ?
The 3gate version feels so much worse now that I've started doing it with 2. Way faster 3rd, more freedom, faster robo. Overall just feels pretty amazing.
Also, you said that till I spot 3rd base, I wanna stay on 57 workers. You meant that I can add those probes immidiately after seeing that, or just after holding push, like raven one(cause raven push into allin and into 3rd looks the same if it comes to the first wave of push, right?).
You should be able to scout 3rd cc with your hallucination or with your observer. If you see no 3rd cc you want to get 54-57 workers. If you see a 3rd cc before 3rax you can get more, if you see a 3rd cc after 3 rax you probably wanna wait a bit with building more workers (after you push away the first wave like you say). I should have said that more clearly in the video, thanks for the feedback.
Why go blink first if you only get 5 stalkers by 6:50? And 19 zealots. I would think you'd want charge first if you're going mostly zealot. What am I missing?
Blink stalkers are extremely good at defending drops, that come early on in the game. That's the main purpose of blink. Also you need to realise that if you make charge first it's completely useless because when it's ready you have 0 zealots
Stats play a similar build in GSL vs cure all 3 games. He always Chronos the sentry, 2 forges @ 5:00 and add 4 gates @ 5:30, 2gates @ 6:00. 2~3 immortals after 2~3 obs and add up to 6 gases once he thinks it's safe.
Harstem, what do you think about earlier 3rd, and then 3rd asimilator? Btw, awesome build, kinda feels thats i have much more vs raven push or stuff, than with standard blink opener.
Yea I think you do want to. I think its hard to do a build order guide and then use somebody else's replays as I sometimes can't explain his logic. Had a few awkward moments this video, from now on I will just steal someones build play it a lot and then use my own replays so I can always explain the logic behind decisions.

Earlier 3rd vs earlier 3rd assimilator doesnt matter too much. You can do both and get very similar results probably.
So what's the real reason this is played core first?
