Exploring and Crossing Flat Iron Lake | Red Dead Redemption

- In this video, at the request of some people in previous videos, I decided to explore in detail the "Flat Iron Lake", present in RDR2, and also present in Red Dead Redemption, but without that name. What is it like at the edges from where we can see with Blackwater binoculars, for example? What would the New Hanover and Lemoyne area be like? And also what is it like underwater in RDR1? I will show all of this in this video. A comparison video between the two games may be released in the future.
This was possible with the help of mods.
Video moments:
0:00 Map and information
0:37 Watching from Blackwater
1:36 Reaching the collision limit
2:38 Observing with binoculars
3:04 New Hanover Region
3:55 Lemoyne Region
4:44 Other areas outside the map boundaries
5:12 Exploring the ocean floor

Pearson just probably chillin outta bounds in Rhodes in RDR1.
You can't hurt me over here John.
After decades of trying I finally have an answer and nice to see what would be Clements point in rdr1
You're doing the lord's work lol, always wanted to know this out of boundary stuff in RDR for years.
New Hanover was mentioned in the mission with Professor in RDR1.
in Manzanita Post, the npc talks about “Spaldings” which is a modern store in Saint Denis meaning that these two states existed in RDR1
Pretty sure you got New Haven confused with New Hanover
@@randomdude8403 just looked, but yeah it could be the same i think
The grizzlies are mentioned in rdr1 too
@@Gabriel-ki7uj Yup, NPC dialogue
Well, in "At Home with Dutch", the professor talks to John and Nastas about a man who killed 18 indians or something, in Wyoming. That's curious, because New Hanover is a representation of Wyoming. Idk why, but maybe the state changed its name, or it's just another state.
I remember when I was little playing this game back when it was only a few months old and always trying to find a way to get to that side of the map
Good to see New Hanover and Lamoyne before they existed.
The difference between RDR1 and RDR2 is insane. Bards Crossing, Owanjilla Dam, Clements point, Lannahechee River and Big Valley are either nowhere to be found or are drastically different despite the general locations of where they were exist in RDR1. And Lemoyne boarding Mexico is also wild.
I agree, it is a real evolution. It's just a shame that Mexico isn't officially present in RDR2. Some say it's for reasons of the time in which the story takes place, because I say, I just had to do it like New Austin, create a version of 1899 for example.
@@RDRPlayer. 1907 New Austin feels kinda rushed. It’s like that version was meant for 1899 and they didn’t bother making a 1907 version. It’s a shame because 1907 NA creates a whole bunch of unnecessary retcons and plot holes.
@@RDRPlayer. The RDR2 map is very weird in general. You can tell they had many ideas that changed over time. In my opinion, it doesn't make sense that New Austin exists in RDR2 as an accesible area. It is a great region, don't get me wrong (the setting is very good, the desert is very well done and is a big improvement from RDR in terms of graphics and aesthetics, also adding a bit of info about the lore). But I believe it doesn't make sense in the story as it is because it feels weird that John can visit New Austin for no reason at all before the events of RDR and also the gang says they come from the west, but the story begins when they flee from Blackwater to the north, never coming back to the west.
@@MrGeo02 I don’t mind the fact that he went to NA with Sadie as it was only for a brief time and he simply stated how he doesn’t know the area well.
Lemoyne borders Mexico in 2 as well and it makes zero sense unless the Gulf of Mexico is actually a lake in this lore. It’s a weird empty realm you can use to arrive at any point in the main map so it’s also connected to ambrino.
Always been interested in this, even knowing there's most likely nothing. Thanks for the videos
I remember i've always tried to go out of the map by every opportunity to see what awaites me there. I finaly have my answer now🙏 i love your vids, keep going🤠
Always found it weird in RDR2 being able to see Blackwater from Clemen's Point, or especially in the fishing part with Dutch and Hosea, like it's literally there, we're not that far, just swim up at night lol. Rockstar should've put some fog or something.
Why? Rockstar never intended to hide blackwater in rdr2, they just said that you are a dead man in that area plus having fog so close in a 2018 game especially from rockstar like its 2004 would make the game look bad, plus that close rendering distance will ruin the another elements of the game, not even rdr1 have close rendering distance.
@@culixul facts
@culixul you missed the point. The main plot device in rdr2 is "we have to get far away from blackwater, its not safe there". And then halfway through the game, after spending weeks on the run, you can literally still see blackwater from your camp.
Adding fog during that part of the story wouldve been a good decision, it wouldve given the illusion that you are far away and also wouldve made the world feel bigger.
This is what I was waiting for, tysm!
I tented this game 3 times when it released to complete it. I think it's one of the greatest gaming achievements.
Believe me, you sooner or later have a lot of subscribers ;) Great video bro
It’s a little weird that Flat Iron receded after Owanjila was destroyed. The river got wider but the lake shrunk for some reason.
I really like this concept
Incredible keep going
It looks like they kinda cut off the top part of the lake and turned that into New Hanover
Tbh, on the undead nightmare dlc, it would be cool if flat iron lake had an ancient city/pyramid emerge from the lake. Having to get the mask from Mexico to enter the ancient city/pyramid. And there would be a final boss. Would be dope in my book!
Waiting for the PC Version of Red Dead Redemption :)
I always wondered how to mod rdr1 because I’ve seen vids on rdr1 with drivable cars and other mods but I also heard it never made it to pc?
I always wanted to know how this area looks like, thank you. Are playing rdr1 on a modded console or emulator?
Xenia.
Now can you please compare the rdr 2 map in rdr 1 which we can't explore. Also can you do a side by side comparison of Both rdr game's
nice details for places no one would normally step on
btw how did you install this mod in the game?
You can ethier get the emulated version of the game on pc or you can jailbreak your console

@@RDRPlayer. thanks❤️
@@Nonbingeablegaming thank u👍
@RDRPlayer. I had a video idea idk if you have made or not but it would be cool to see the top upper side of Mexico like the unavailable parts
Is it possible for you to explore beyond the western boundary?
How did you install the mod?
Where can i download this mod ?

@@RDRPlayer. Can i have another link please because this link is not working
What do you mean it's simple and without details like in gtav? As much as I know gtav has a lot of details underwater, various marine life, all the plants, wrecks etc.
Maybe the way I wrote it gave the wrong meaning to the sentence. But that was exactly what I wanted to compare. In RDR it is not detailed like it is in GTA 5.
@@RDRPlayer. I see. It happens. Maybe you don't use eng everyday like me. I guess maybe you should have used "unlike" instead of "like". Not sure though
@@_rosolek_What’re you goin on about it? Leave it alone haha
@@lesterbronson2385 What do you mean? I'm just saying. I think using "unlike" in that sentence would fit it better. And I suggested that maybe it's because eng isn't their first language, same as it isn't mine. Maybe I should have written "same as me" instead of "like me". Idk
@@_rosolek_ i read it like u i thought the same ik u can use like like this but its quite confusing if he would use unlike yes i got it better as u mentioned
Can you do a gamplay on this
Can i ask the counsol name
