  • Amazing bushwalk in Taranaki. First part goes through farmland. I'm not sure if lambing related restrictions are still valid or in place at all, since area looks to be converted to tree farm. 3km down the road you will see sign on the left (1:59). From here on, path goes along historic logging tramline. This part is very easy. It can be muddy or uneven in places but there's hardly any ascend. All river crossings are bridged. 5.5km past sign there's Falls Hut (7:30), also known as Te Rerepahupahu Hut. Bit further down, path will diverge right from the tramline. Ascend is quite short, once at highest point you should be able to hear the waterfall. Descend is rather steep but should not be a problem even in poor weather. Path will follow stream for a bit and you'll arrive at Te Rerepahupahu Falls (13:38). Heaps of water on that particular day due to recent rainfall, in dry summer days I'd expect small trickle.
I'll leave you with a photo I took that day 15:13.
ps. 3:53 love the sound of rain
